  1. Users should be allowed to place Resource Sharing requests for volumes which are unavailable in local library

For multi-volume titles, if local library has some volumes available, it is not allowed our users to make Resource Sharing requests. It would be very helpful if our users could place Resource Sharing requests for those volumes that are not available at our library. See Support Case #00955156 & #00699280 for further reference.

  3. Query to patron letter: add the publication date for Document delivery requests

We’d like to display the publication date in the Query to patron letter also for DD requests. Now we can display the date in the letter only for ILL requests.

  4. Mass deletion of purchase requests

Purchase requests can be mass rejected but cannot be mass deleted after that, so they need to be deleted individually, which is frustrating and time-consuming.

  5. Usage statistics Missing Data page should use different symbols

Currently in the Missing Data page, Alma uses the same red symbol to indicate Data not available for that month. When we investigated, some of them had error in connection so we had to contact the vendors to fix the problems. However, some of them actually worked fine, only there were no usage data available for the requested dates.

I am requesting ExL to use a different symbol to indicate no usage, otherwise everything else is fine. So at a glance at the Missing data page, we could easily explain which months have no usage, so nothing needs…

As of March release the SUSHI harvest process contains new performance enhancements. Additionally, the Missing Data tab has been renamed to the Monthly Usage Data tab. The errors on this tab are now further refined to help you troubleshoot connection issues. The yellow icon indicates that the connection to the vendor was successful, but the vendor did not send any data. While the red icon indicates that the the vendor connection attempt was unsuccessful. The green icon indicates, as previously, that the usage report file was successfully uploaded.

  6. Advanced search option for Users search

Create an advanced search for Users search, just like for physical titles / items. In this search, make it possible to search (for instance) users with specific roles or job categories, identifiers starting with specific prefixes, users with different kinds of blocks, users with outstanding loans or requests, etc, and the possibility to combine these.

  7. Adding notes when rejecting a Resource Sharing partner

There are two places within Alma where it is possible to reject a Resource Sharing partner - in one place, the internal note is added to the Notes tab of the request; in the other, it isn't.

We would expect the same action to have the same effect in both places - the fact it doesn't forces the workflow into a less optimal route.

  10. Add a parameter to manage suppression of unheld purchase requests

Currently, when a bib record is created for purchase request for a title not held by the library, it is automatically suppressed by default. We would like the option to make these records visible to users so they can place holds and track availability. Please introduce a configurable parameter that allows us to control whether such requests are suppressed or displayed.

  11. Alma -- no warning when item goes into "transit" from receiving

When an item is received under Receiving > One Time, if there is a request on the item for a user at another library, the item immediately goes into transit status to the requesting library. There is no message or warning that the item is in transit at this point, and the receiver's assumption is that it is now "In place" and ready to be shelved. The only warning that exists is a column prior to receiving that shows "Yes" under "Requests." Once the item is received, it is gone from this list (see below) and there…

  12. Show Interested User name directly in the PO Line list when receiving new material

Currently, for PO Lines with interested user(s), we can only see a green "V" in the PO Lines list when receiving new material in the Acquisition Department.
Since we increasingly use Purchase Requests to order new material, we almost always have IUs in the PO Lines. These IUs can either be patrons or staff members.

We'd like to be able to see straightaway the IU's name(s) when receiving, either directly or when flying over this green "V".
It would save us a few clicks to be able to see quickly the Interested User's name. And it is important for…

  13. Provide MMS IDS of bibliographic records filtered out during publishing

New functionality to filter out bibliographic records when publishing was introduced with the November 2016 Alma release. When records are published with a filter to remove records which match an indication rule, a count of the filtered records (not published due to filter) is reported. However there is no list of record keys for the records which were removed by the filter. Case 00359617 was filed with ExLibris and consequently closed as it was determined this would be adding functionality so would be an enhancement request. This request is to add functionality to the completed publishing job report which…

  14. Waitlist functionality for short-term loans

It would be helpful to have a waitlist functionality for short-term loans (i.e. for reserve items). This would allow patrons to put their name on a list to be next in line once a short-term loan item has been returned. Alma would send an email/text to the patron when the item is returned telling the patron they have a specific window of time (e.g. 5 minutes, configurable by the institution) to check out the item. During that window of time no other patrons can check it out. After the window of time has expired the next person on the waitlist…

  15. Authority jobs & authority control task list - ability to exclude certain categories of records from authorisation

Some records are necessarily brief and are not fully catalogued, for example records for Resource Sharing requests, and new records for items that are On Order and haven't yet been catalogued. We would like to exclude such records from the authority linking process and from the Authority Control Task List, to ensure that the Task List only includes records that we really do need to check. If the authorisation process could be configurable to allow us to exclude categories of records, the Task List would be a much more usable feature in Alma.

The Authority Control task list is used to monitor and manage the authority control process in relation to the institution’s bibliographic records. It is now possible to facet authority control messages related to bibliographic records that are linked to the Community Zone, which is helpful when you do not want to monitor the authority control process for these records. See Using the Authority Control Task List for more information.
Ability to define events that should be reported separately is planned and will be supported in future release.

  16. Fulfillment Network - Institutional drop down menu for patron/item

Fulfillment Network - find patron/item from another institution: Currently in Alma, when selecting either an item or patron from another institution, the drop down menu is in a random order. There should be a way to change the sorting of that list (alphabetically for example). This menu can be found in the Manage Patron Services, Return Items, and Scan in Items.
This carries over to Primo for users placing requests. Both the institution and fulfillment network scopes. The pickup institutions should be listed alphabetically.

  17. Skip Location for Lending Requests

For "patron physical item requests", there is an option called "Skip location". We use this option when we don't have the requested material available at our campus library, but another of our campus libraries does. In these cases, when we click on the "Skip location"-button, the request gets automatically transferred to a library which has the material available.

We would like to have a similar "Skip location"-function for lending requests. Today we have to manually transfer the lending requests between our campus libraries, if we don't have the material available at the library which originally got…

  18. Allow suppression of items from Discovery in Primo

I would like a check-box in the item record that would allow staff to suppress individual items from discovery in Primo. This could be used for libraries that want to use only a single discoverable "dummy" item for placing requests on physical journals in Primo as well as libraries that prefer not to have items discoverable by patrons until they are done with processing and are available on the shelves. In an ideal world, if a holdings record only had suppressed items, the holding record would also not display. Moreover, if all items on all holdings attached to a…

Library staff now have better control over process types: placing and removing institution-level work order types using the Change Physical items information job, searching by work order type and excluding a specific work order type from discovery. The work order types were enhanced to streamline workflows, allowing handling in bulk and without scanning items in.

his is especially useful when the library needs to mark a large set of items as unavailable in a way that's reflected in discovery

  19. Printouts Queue: Include more info in printing queue display

Idea: Include bibliographic or request information in the display of the Printing queue. (E.g. An additional column that displays Title and/or Internal/External identifier).

Rationale: There may be multiple desks/people scanning in requests at different times; it would be helpful to be able to see which item a letter was referring to at a glance. This information is available from the "preview" option, BUT, it takes a lot of time and clicks to open each to see if it should be printed or reprinted.

  20. Linking Proxy and Sponsor accounts

In our library, we create a separate library account for every Proxy, in addition to their personal account.

    1. We want the Proxy and Sponsor accounts to be linked to each other so that all loans made by a Proxy on behalf of a Sponsor will automatically be registered on both accounts.
In addition, all requests placed by a Proxy on behalf of a Sponsor should be loanable on the Sponsor's account without the need of deleting the request/s from the Proxy's account.

    2. Since many Sponsors have more than one Proxy )sometimes up to 10), we would like a…
