The difficulty with resource sharing requests is that they may be fulfilled by any lender on the rota, so it is not possible to know in advance who will fulfill the request and then calculate the potential pickup locations based on relations.

Can you explain the workflow action that needs to be done on 'renew accepted' requests ? For what purpose do you need the status to reflect the fact that a renew has taken place ?

If you allow updating information form Primo then the submitted data should not be wiped out by the next data load. The data from Primo will be created as an internal segment, attached to the external user account. This internal segment will not get wiped by the next load.

    Hi,

I am not sure about 'letting the students update contact information that will be wiped out next time data is loaded in to Alma'. Updates done by patrons from Primo should be recorded as internal segments (e.g. email) and not get overrun by a subsequent SIS import. Is that not your experience ?

What is missing in the FulIncomingSlip Letter in order to make it usable as a shipping slip (in addition to a pick up slip) ?

Is the requirement to have a fixed renewal due date that is different then the loan due date ? Normally, the renew date in Alma is just the due date that would have been assigned to the loan if the loan was to be made at the time the renewal took place.

A way to enable a renew due date that is not the same as the loan due date is to set a rule in the Fulfillment Unit that applied a different Terms of Use to the loan if the item is in process of Loan. The Terms of Use used in this rule will have a de date policy that uses the fixed due date you want to use for renewals.

Note that when a request is placed in Alma (and then pushed to Rapid), if the PMID or DOI is included, additional metadata automatically augments the request. The following fields are automatically populated:

    -Article Title
    -Journal Title
    -Author
    -Volume
    -Issue
    -ISSN
    -Pages
    -Start Page
    -End Page
    -Publication Date

This depends on the Augmentation Integration Profile set up.

Do you mean the item level call number ? Are not most request title level ? In that case, they are not linked to a specific item.

Are you using the 'Send Borrower Request Rules' to automatically send requests ? These rules enable pushing borrower requests automatically on to their lenders via Rapid or BLDSS or as peer to peer requests. Th rules can be configured to stop converted requests from flowing on automatically, so that manual handling of the requests be done before they are sent off.

    Thanks,
    Moshe

Can you elaborate on why different processing of converted requests would be necessary ? How are they different from non-converted requests ?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

The Overdue and Lost Loan Profiles can be set by user group. Is that not what you are trying to achieve ?

Can you share the screens you are referring to ? Converting Digitization request to RS request should not require a pickup location to be selected.

    Hi,

Can you elaborate - How would enabling the password reset help the authentication process if the user account is expired anyhow ?

Are you referring to the dropdown shown here - https://www.screencast.com/t/b2aYplex ? Recently used values are sorted first.

Can you elaborate on what type of fields should not be overwritten ? Are they initially imported from SIS but should not be later changes by the next SIS load ?

    Hi,

There was very little response to my comment below. I would like to re-iterate the question I asked to validate whether a direction we're thinking about taking would be beneficial. So -

What if the parameter would enable configuring the courtesy and overdue reminder as percentage of the loan period instead of exact minutes, as it is today ? For example, a value of 50% would cause a two hour loan to have s reminder be sent 1 hour before due time, and a 4 hour loan would be reminded 2 hours before due time ? Would that be helpful ?

There's on going contact with NLM. The last inquiry was made on October 2020, and was responded to with - 'We will add you to our vendor list and be in touch as soon as possible.'

We will continue to track the feasibility of this potential integration option.

    Hi,

Ex Libris has been in contact with NLM some time ago regarding the possibility of setting up an integration with DOCLINE. Following the launch of DOCLINE 6 we have re-asked the question. NLM answer is quoted below.

"DOCLINE 6 was launched for requesting this spring, with basic features for interlibrary loan. Development continues to be focused on restoration of features or functionality that were available to users in the previous version. While we can confirm that APIs are planned for the future, there is no additional information at this time. We will reach out to those who expressed interest in DOCLINE integration when APIs are on the schedule for development."

We will continue to monitor the development of DOCLINE, and be happy to work on integrations as soon as that becomes an option.

    Thank you,

The fulfillment unit may be set up with a policy for requesting available items, see https://www.screencast.com/t/ghrpyOwVOW, for example allowing requesting only for pickup in another campus.

It is possible to override that for specific user groups. This can be done by using the On Shelf Request Policy on the request Terms of Use, see https://www.screencast.com/t/2s1obeNI. This way, you can allow specific user groups to request regardless of the fact that the item is on shelf.

Does that match what you are looking to implement ?
