    Note that you can set the system to totally ignore the lender due date, and use your own TOU by using the ignore_lender_due_date parameter. A more sophisticated setup would also use the Item Creation Rules (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/030Fulfillment/080Configuring_Fulfillment/060Resource_Sharing/020Advanced_Resource_Sharing_Configurations#Configuring_Temporary_Item_Creation_Rules ) to create the temporary items in different locations depending on whether the lender has assigned a long due date or a short one, and then use your loan TOUs to set due dates.

    For example - Item creation rules create items with lender due date that is more than 60 days in a 'long loans' location, and items with a due date shorter than that at a 'short loans' location. Then, TOUs assign 30 days loan to the 'short loans' items and 60 days to the 'long loans' . This way, a consistent due date is set to all loans.

    Can you detail what that assistance is ? What data, if exposed to the staff at the home library, will enable providing that assistance ?

    Can you share more information about the details of the borrowing history from other institutions that would be required, and how that can help processes at the library ? Could that not be a privancy concern ? How can seeing the request queue of a remote item help the library staff ?

    Are items in work order processing not requestable for you in Primo ? That may be a configuration issue.

    Can you not use the 'Change Physical items information' to bulk put all of the items of the location in a work order that is named 'Not Available' (making this text appear also in Primo) ? The job allows also to remove the work order by selecting the 'In Process Type' check box without selecting a process type from the drop down.

    So, would a solution such as the below do the trick ?

    Alma will have a scheduled job that will send letters every day at a specific time, with a warning for users about to expire, i.e. have a user account that has a nearing expiry date. The library will be able to set up the amount of days before expiration and if the letter should be sent to all users or to specific user groups.

    Hi,

    There is indeed no built in job for that, but there is a way to achieve this functionality.

    1. Define an Analytics report with number of days before expiry

    2. Use the report to create a set (see https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Knowledge_Articles/Create_Users_Set_for_expired_patrons_based_on_Analytics)

    3. Configure the notice you wan to send , see https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/050Administration/040Configuring_User_Management/070Configuring_User_Notification_Types

    4. Use the 'Update/Notify users' job to send the notice to the users in the set.

    The current override options allow only overriding:
    * On Shelf Request Policy
    * Copy is already requested

    My understanding is that this request is for a button on the request form that should enable staff to override the requestability/limit hold policies. Clicking the button should enable submitting the request while overlooking the preventing policy.
    The same should be possible also for booking requests

    The Override On Shelf Request Policy button in the Alma request form should enable you to request an available item that should otherwise not be requestable becasue it is on shelf. See https://www.screencast.com/t/dAQg6Gy7cG

    Does 'pickup location' in the context of loans actually mean 'the circulation desk where the loan has been done' ?

    An error occurred while saving the comment

    Can you elaborate on why pickup location is required for loans ?

    Of course ! It is already possible to convert a resource sharing request to a purchase request. The reverse should also be possible.

    Makes sense ! We should have a 'Run a Job' option to launch a job on a list of items to change the due date of the set's items to a new due date

    This may be rather complicated. There is no standard ISO message that would support communicating a recall cancellation between borrower and lender

    So, I guess we want it to be possible to configure a warning that pops up when the Change Due Date is used on a recalled loan and that the warning should be overridable. When doing Change Due Date on multiple items, if this block is configured then the pop up will notify that some of the loans are recalled and allow to choose action.

    Can you share more information about when this happens ? The 'Change Due Date' tool does not revert the loan status, and the Renew action is indeed blocked. Can you explain in what scenario recalled item reverts back to its initial status ?

    There are a number of separate ideas packed into this single one. Please split into separate ideas to enable processing each independently.

    Is the On Shelf Policy 'No requesting' not a good fit ? It is defined -

    If a title has a physical holding at a physical location that is associated with a fulfillment unit for which On shelf request policy is set to No requesting, then any physical holding of that title, regardless of the On shelf request policy setting of the fulfillment unit at its location, is not requestable. This means that other holdings of the title that belong to any fulfillment unit cannot be requested (for instance, by patrons through Primo). To avoid this scenario, On shelf request policy should instead be set to No requesting from available holdings

    You may want to take a look at the On Shelf Policy option "No requesting from available holding". Tis option means that no item under the BIB record can be requested when in all holding records there is an item available on shelf but if in any holding there is no item on shelf, the request is possible and will be attached to one of the items under this holding.

    Are you familiar with the Restricting Users for Editing (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/050Administration/040Configuring_User_Management/020Roles_and_Registration_Configuration#Restricting_Users_for_Editing) option ? You may be able to set up the User Manager role in the Users Restricted for Editing table, and then create the user manager accounts that you want to limit with a “Can’t edit restricted users” attribute. These users will not be able to update any user manager’s account, including not their own.

    Have you tried to have also the 'User List View' privilege removed ? It should remove the users search option

    Is this not addressed by the new UI's labels and notes indication (attached) ?
