If you use a 'No Requesting' On Shelf Request Policy in the FU and set the request policy on the ASRS items to 'Allow for pickup anywhere regardless of availability’' the system should allow you to place requests, and they should bind only to the ASRS items. If that is not your experience, I suggest to open a Salesforce ticket.

    Hi,

I am not sure I fully understand the requirement but would like to note:

    1. The Fulfillment Unit may be set up with 'No Requesting from available holding' instead of 'No Requesting'. That would enable the RS items to be requestable even though there are available items in other locations.

    2. In the request terms of use there is a policy ('On Shelf Request Policy') that allows overriding the Fulfillment Unit's on shelf policy for specific items/locations/user groups.

Can you elaborate on the request, and whether the above information is relevant to your inquiry ?

    Thanks,
    Moshe

The system allows placing a request because it may still be able to fulfill the request by forwarding to a broker system, such as ILLiad. The indication on the form is only about known consortial potential lenders. There may still be an option to fulfill the request via a broker, if you configure one.

    Hi,

Please note that we're working on replacing the email based export with HTTP API calls, which should solve this type of issue.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Running the Close Lost Loans job cleans up the loans for which you do not want refunds to take place. You can use this job to routinely remove 'lost and paid' loans. This will have the effect of not refunding their fees if the do get checked in.

    Thanks,
    Moshe

Please note you can use the fulfillment TOUs to prevent or limit the renewals.

There's a 'Being Processed' status you may be able to use for that. Would that work for you ?

The specific item count is found on the Other Details tab, see https://www.screencast.com/t/MeldKvSQA.

Is this about viewing title level information ?

    Hi,

Can you elaborate on where rejection works as you expect and where it does not ?

    Hi,

Are the role profiles not helpful for binding a set of roles and being able to apply them in one go ?

When adding an identifier, the identifier is added without having to click 'Save' on the user record.

    Hi,

You can set the 'Days before due date' parameter of the auto renew job to give the patrons a longer heads up. For example, setting it to 14 would send a courtesy notice 14 days before the due date. In conjunction with setting the 'Handle loans' parameter to 'Once when due date is within range' will allow renewals to still succeed if they become renewable (for example by block being removed) later.

    Hi,

You say that 'when a renewal is attempted, whether by the patron, automatically, or by staff, it fails, e.g. because of the request, with no notification of the failure which is confusing to the end user'.

I am not sure what's being asked for in this idea. When renewing in Alma you do see the reason for the renew failure. Can you elaborate ?

    Thanks,

Would the solution planned for the 'Payment option on user Fines/Fees tab' idea solve this requirement ?

The plan is that it will be possible to pay from the user Fines and Fees tab of the user form instead of have to leave this screen to the 'Manage Patron Services' screen when having to register a payment.

    Hi,

Do you mean to change the due dates of a group of loans after they have been made ? The 'Bulk Change Due Dates ' utility allows you to change the due date of previously made loans from one date to another. It can also be run for specific user groups. Is that what you are trying to achieve ?

    Thanks,
    Moshe

Sounds like some overlap with NERS requirement 5746 - "Allow desktop printing directly from Alma", which has been voted for development during 2019 and is in development.

    Hi,

Would setting the calendar to the closing time of the Circulation desks (20.30) help ? You could then control the return time of the laptop, while still set 23:59 to be the return time for the longer loans.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Please note that when a resource sharing request form for an article is submitted from Alma, Primo, or using the API, if the PMID or DOI is included, additional metadata now automatically augments the request that is eventually sent to the lender. This depends on having the Augmentation Integration Profile set up.

    Thanks,
    Moshe

Wouldn't the weeding process be triggered by a report of low usage items rather than by looking at a specific item in Alma ? Perhaps mapping the relevant bib information to the local fields that can be added to Analytics would help ? The relevant Analytics reports can be mapped into sets that are used by automatically activated jobs to create weeding tasks, see http://exl-edu.com/01_Alma/Whats_New/2018-05/Create_a_Set_in_Alma_from_an_Alma_Analytics_Report/story_html5.html

    Hi,

The loan history is listed per item. Why do you need that information per title ?

    Thanks,
    Moshe

    Hi,

Are you familiar with the 'On Shelf Policy' options that you can configure on the Fulfillment Unit ? These may be helpful for what you are trying to achieve.
