Purchase request conversion into a resource sharing request
It would be good if it was possible to convert a purchase request into a resource sharing request on Alma. This might arise in circumstances where the user has originally requested a purchase request for a journal article on Primo. It would be useful if this purchase request could be converted into an ILL request simply without having to re-key in the information

Hi all,
Thank you for supporting this idea.
Starting from the Alma August 2025 Release, It is now possible to convert a purchase request into a resource sharing request. This can be done by rejecting the purchase request before creating the resource sharing request, or by keeping the purchase request and creating the resource sharing request.

Of course ! It is already possible to convert a resource sharing request to a purchase request. The reverse should also be possible.

There would be a need to account for user declaring that the request is within copyright limitations. Or someway to include a link in the rejection letter so that the user can then submit a resource sharing request and tick the © check box.

Yes please. This would be really helpful to us. We cannot specify a publication date range for when a purchase request link should be shown instead of a resource sharing request. This would help us streamline the process for customers, if for whatever reason we are unable to purchase.
