Improve locate process to accurately determine an article’s availability based on the partner’s portfolio coverage
Currently, when a digital resource sharing request include only the publication date year, the system interprets the publication date as January 1 of that year. If the partner’s portfolio coverage includes only volume/issue, the availability is calculated based on the volume/issue information in the request. However, if the portfolio coverage includes both year and month, then the availability is calculated based on dates only. Even if the coverage also includes volume/issue, the volume/issue data in the request is ignored, and the link resolver does not estimate dates based on volume/issue. The locate process then checks if there is an embargo…

Prevent resource sharing requests from matching to different formats
Currently, there is no method of preventing digital article requests from matching with physical items, while keeping the resource sharing library active for lending of digital requests for physical items (e.g. to send book chapters digitally).
We would like the locate process to exclude certain formats based on the citation type selected in the request form. For example, a request for a book chapter would match only to physical and electronic books and an article request would match to only electronic and physical articles.

Improve precision of locate process for digital resource sharing article requests
Currently, when identifiers are not included in a resource sharing request form, Alma uses a search mechanism based on keywords to guide the locate process. This results in many false positive matches. Additional locate by fields (title, author) selected in the partner’s locate profile and Resource Sharing Library lending setup are not considered in the process. Turning on the Locate only when all fields match setting does not improve the accuracy of the locate for article requests, as article author is not considered in the matching process for article, with the journal title being the main matching element.
We would…

Sync Locate Profiles for Partners Copied from the RSD
Currently the system does not support the synchronization community partners' locate profiles. Updates initiated by the Edit Resource Sharing Library row action (e.g. changes to contact information) are reflected in the partner records downloaded by other institutions. However, if a partner profile is copied from the RSD and a change is later made to the locate profile, this change is not reflected in systems where the partner was previously copied. Locate profiles copied from community also cannot be manually edited. Therefore, institutions that have copied the partner before the change was made, will need to either:
- delete their existing partner…

RS Pick Slip configuration
Currently the FUL Incoming Slip Letter can only be configured to display the Library of Congress classification, and not the Item Permanent Call Number. This means the pick slip generated in the Resource Sharing lending workflow shows an incorrect call number.
Please make the Item Permanent Call Number available as a configurable field in the FUL Incoming Letter, so that pick slips display the correct shelf location.

Be able to see the full email message when using Send email to partner or Send query to patron
Currently we cannot see the full context of these email messages, we only see the “body” of the email, but that does not include any pre-set text or the greeting and signature.
Staff are left guessing what information is included in the full message, and the sent messages often look poorly composed and unprofessional. It is inconvenient and time consuming to find the templates to check the complete message before sending. Knowing what the full message looks like at the moment of writing, would help staff decide exactly what to write in the email

Be able to cancel, or reject, a request that is updated as shipped in error
Sometimes lenders update a request as shipped in error. Once we have confirmed with the partner that we will never receive that item, we should be able to either cancel the request, or reject it so it moves on to another partner. Currently we can only “receive” and “return”, but that creates incorrect analytics reports.

Feature Request for Individual Interlibrary Loan Requests
We would like to request a functional enhancement regarding individual borrowing requests in the following menu:
[Alma > Fulfillment > Resource Sharing > Borrowing Requests]
When a user at an Alma customer institution (e.g., a university library) submits a KERIS interlibrary loan (ILL) request via the library website, the request is received in the Alma menu above. In such cases, the staff in charge of resource sharing must separately submit the request through WILL (the KERIS interlibrary loan system). At this stage, the staff would like to send a notification email to the user confirming that the interlibrary loan request…

File Naming
Current system behavior replaces user-defined file names with the Rapid request no. and the Cross Ref IDs during the delivery process. To meet ADA Title II standards, we need the system to preserve the original staff-assigned filename when the file is delivered to the patron.

Support CID: resource_sharing_request_id in Letters
The Internal Identifier (XML resourcesharingrequestid) is the required file name for the batch automatic delivery of digital lending requests via the Automatically Ship Rapido Digital Requests job. The Internal Identifier is 17 characters. Supporting CID: resourcesharingrequestid within print slip letters XSL would allow the Internal Identifier to be scanned by a barcode scanner during the digitization workflow of physical materials instead of an operator manually typing in a 17 character identifier which increases errors and is time consuming.

Add "Any" as selectable format for Resource Sharing requests
The Resource Sharing request form does not allow a blank default (at least for books).
And you cannot have different default values for Article and Book requests.Having the option "Any" available would give flexibility and allow to have no default value.

Shipping Cost Lender Rules - Partner Organization Type
It would be great if ‘Partner Organization Type’ could be added as a parameter in the ‘Shipping Cost – Lender Rules.’ This would allow us to set the Partner Organization Type for new partners instead of having to select each new partner individually.

Support file exchange via Odyssey
While we are able to send and receive files with other Alma, Rapido, and RapidILL libraries via RapidX, the resource sharing world is much larger than these three systems. While ExLibris talks about supporting interoperability, we are not yet able to receive files using the file sharing method dominant among our peers, even though its platform is open source. Odyssey is a major player in the library secure file exchange world, and while we stress to our partners that they need to send non-returnables to us via other methods, often folks forget, deliver via Odyssey, and assume the request is…

Add Resource Sharing Partner Setting for ILLiad Cleared Status
When a library creates a resource sharing partner for ILLiad and checks the Create User in ILLiad box, Alma does not pass a Cleared value in the CreateUser ILLiad API call. This means all ILLiad user records created by Alma need to be manually cleared. Please add a new setting to the ILLiad resource sharing partner type that allows libraries to select a Cleared value of either "No" or "New".

Hide Resource Sharing request button from all Primo records in a particular Primo View/Alma Campus
We wish to hide the Resource Sharing request button from appearing on all Primo records when viewed by a particular Primo view/Alma Campus.
We can currently set Discovery Interface Display Logic to "Hide service Resource Sharing Request" at the Institution level - which achieves what we want, but unfortunately blocks Resource Sharing requests on all of our Alma Campuses/Primo Views.
We would like to be able to configure the Discovery Interface Display Logic to "Hide service Resource Sharing Request" at the Campus Rules level, and thus achieve the above goal.

Separate Default Format Settings for Book vs. Article Requests - Resource Sharing Request configuration
Separate Default Format Settings for Book vs. Article Requests - Resource Sharing Request configuration
Summary:
Currently, Alma does not allow libraries to configure different default Format values (Physical vs. Digital) for Book (Loan) requests versus Article (Copy/Scan) requests in the Resource Sharing Request form. The single “Delivery fields > Format” default applies globally to both request types even though these request types have very different workflows and downstream impacts.
Problem:
When the default format is set to Physical (helpful for book requests), article requests originating in Primo can be incorrectly submitted as Loan requests. This causes article requests to enter…

Resource sharing Rapido - matching process on 035 to allow for more granularity
When our users place a document delivery request or another library places a borrowing request for one of our items the system can look at System Control Number which includes OCLC number. This is good. If user has an OCLC it helps to ensure we are pulling the exact right item. But this includes anything in the 035 field. Currently we have the bib numbers from our previous system in the 035 which is standard practice. The system is matching on this number. This causes confusion and delays with requests. It would be helpful to be able to configure it…

Create a way of marking borrowing requests visually for Staff Attention
Sometimes we receive borrowing requests that need special staff attention when the item is received or returned. Examples include:
- When the other library is sending an invoice inside the item we are receiving
- When the other library requests special handling in the use of the loaned item
- When an item needs to be returned in special packaging or with insurance
- When an item needs to be returned with accompanying IFLA vouchers
- When an item has loose pieces which need to be checked for before return
- When the item received in a request did not come from the active partner

Add a user parameter to the copyright rules for accessibility
We work closely with our Student Accessibility Support office with particular regard to our students with print disabilities. Students let that office know that they opt-in to disclosure of their name to the library, so when it comes to digital access rights, they have elevated permissions. This impacts any in-copyright materials that are digitized solely for accessibility as well as items we have in controlled digital lending.
To complement what we have done with regard to digitized materials in our catalog, we would also like to add a parameter to the copyright rules so when these patrons make chapter or…
