← Have an idea for Ex Libris?

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).

How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.

The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

If you want to add an institutional repository, please open a case and follow the documentation here:

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

**If you are a content provider, please review the submission guides for more information on how to reach out

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Add Comics Plus from Joyful Reading Company

Joyful Reading Company provides MARC records for their Comics Plus database, but they are quite poor. Ideally, working with Clarivate will improve the records, especially when it comes to subjects, names, and other standardized cataloging practices. The comics and graphic novels themselves are quite diverse, if that makes a difference. Thanks for considering.

  10. Add ARETION Publishing Group - The Journal of Medicine, Law & Public Health (ISSN 2788-791X)

Please add a provider record and electronic collection for ARETION Publishing Group, so that institutions can activate The Journal of Medicine, Law & Public Health directly in the Alma/SFX/360 Knowledge Bases and in CDI, rather than relying on it arriving indirectly through ROAD.

On categorisation: Noam Fass of Clarivate confirmed on 23 September 2026 that our content already reaches CDI via ROAD, including article level metadata, which is why this is filed under Existing provider. ARETION itself has no collection of its own, so please recategorise if you consider it a new provider.

  11. Add Bloomsbury Drama Online Critical Studies and Performance Practice 2026 collection to CZ

    Hi all,

The 2026 update for Bloomsbury's Drama Online: Critical Studies and Performance Practice is now available - can this be added to the CZ? I tested a sample set of titles, and they appear available on the Drama Online site. I attached the title list from their email. Thanks!

  19. Enrich Pressbooks Directory CZ collection with discovery metadata from the OPDS feed

The Pressbooks Directory (https://pressbooks.directory/) indexes thousands of open access books created by educational institutions.

The corresponding CZ collection "Pressbooks Directory" (Collection ID 611086618140000041) makes these books available for activation in Alma, but the bibs currently carry only title (245), author (100), and language (008). As an example, the record for "Stories From The Place of Sports in The University, 3rd Edition" from University of Washington Libraries (MMS 9948351757900041) contains no 520, 650, or 856 for cover, though Pressbooks supplies a paragraph-length description, seven subject headings, and a cover image URL for this book. Expanding the field mapping to…
