Content

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).

How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.

The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

If you want to add an institutional repository, please open a case and follow the documentation here:

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

**If you are a content provider, please review the submission guides for more information on how to reach out

  1. Ovid Psycinfo

While options for Psycinfo do exist for Ebsco it does not for Ovid provider. While there is the option to manually enter the whole database this seems unnecessarily laborious for a major provider

  4. New Database Request - Taylor and Francis Read and Publish 2026-2028 SSH, S&T and Medical collection - Reading Lists - 360 KB

A new Jisc agreement has been released for Taylor and Francis Journals covering 2026-2028.

We therefore need several new databases in 360 KB to reflect the current collection and replace the now out-of-date databases that covered the 2024-2025 agreement

  7. Enhanced enrichment of Access medicine from McGrawhill

Got this from support:"Access Medicine is provided by McGraw Hill - they are included in the list at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Content/Knowledge_Articles/Alma/Knowledge_Articles/Community_Zone_Monograph_Records_Enrichment. We enrich their records when new files become available to us; at this time they don't send us new files on a fixed schedule. If you'd like us to talk with McGraw Hill about enriching/improving the records included in Access Medicine, you can submit a request via the Idea Exchange (http://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/574345-content)"

In other words, enrichement is already set up but the update schedule can get improved.

  8. Expand Digital Theatre+ CZ collections

Currently there is only the US database for Digital Theatre+ available in the CZ. It would be wonderful to get the other geographic area collections added (Australia in our case), as our subscription includes titles not available in the US. This setup is already present in OCLC WorldShare.

  9. Westlaw topical texts and annotations

We subscribe to one of Thomson Reuter's Westlaw Canada Topical Texts and Annotations collections, specifically the Environmental, Energy, and Aboriginal Collection. Could this package be added? There may be other related collections of interest to other libraries as well.

  10. Add a CZ collection for "Lived Places Publishing" Open Access titles

There are several "Lived Places Publishing" collections already in the CZ (and prior Idea Exchange submissions), but these are yearly based purchased collections.
For example: "2024 Lived Places Publishing Library Collection".

This submission is specifically for the Open Access titles by this publisher, and ideally this would be maintained ongoing rather than year based.

    The current title list: https://livedplacespublishing.com/open-access-titles/

  11. Missing Hanser yearly collections

Hanser used to have thematic yearly collections, but no longer does (e.g. Collection ID: 616180000000000008). The last ones were from 2022. They still sell yearly packages though. Why do they no longer exist and will they be added again?

  16. Add Wolters Kluwer VitalLaw collection

Could a title level collection be added for VitalLaw, from Wolters Kluwer? VitalLaw is essential for academic law libraries, firms, and cross-displinary studies like business, healthcare, and economics. The VitalLaw platform includes treatises, journals, primary law, and research tools, specializing in the areas of tax, securities, international law, and business law. VitalLaw is widely used alongside Lexis and Westlaw, so I think it should have the same or similar discovery options available. It would be really helpful for my library and many others, I think. Thanks!

  17. Hope to enhance these brief records of package(WORLD_SCIENTIFIC_JOURNALS;Collection ID: 61590044640003966)

Some journals in this resource package(WORLDSCIENTIFICJOURNALS;Collection ID: 61590044640003966), approximately 47 titles, have neither Library of Congress Classification numbers nor Dewey Classification numbers. It is recommended to enhance these brief records by replacing them with more comprehensive bibliographic information.

    Hello,

Can you please confirm what is the CZ Collection ID for the requested collection?

There is one collection that may be what you mean (Collection ID: 61110974746497576), but its' average Bibliographic ranking is 73 which is considered fairly good.

In any case, we do not receive Dewey Classification for this collection and many others, but we might be able to add LCSH.

    Kind regards,

    Tamar Ganor
