create a new item status for items "lost on shelves"
Currently items can be marked as Missing (if not found in the Library), or Lost (if long overdue on user's account). Missing books are regularly checked on, but some of them cannot be tracked within a reasonable time for users, and the search becomes more of an in-house task than fulfilment of an immediate customer need.
However, it is not possible to distinguish between items marked missing relatively recently and still actively searched for (e.g. because we could not find them immediately when requested by users), and those which were not found after several checks, for a long time, even…4 votes -
Visibility of Patron Blocks in Alma
Not all patron blocks are visible under the "Blocks" tab in Alma, depending on the type of block and how it is generated. For example, the maximum cash limit block does not appear in the tab but can be seen as a pop-up notification when using the Manage Patron Services screen.
It would be extremely helpful if all blocks were displayed in the "Blocks" - tab, making it easier for staff to get a complete overview of a patron’s status and blocks.

A temporary location that’s ended by item return/scan in
For exhibitions in the library it would be great to be able to add an item to a temporary location and have the item restored to its permanent location upon return or scan in.
Using a temporary location would make it possible to keep better track of where the item is currently at. Primo would show that an item is used in a display/exhibition and staff could perform better service to patrons and ease the pick-from shelf task.
But there shouldn’t be a need for process restore it to the permanent location. A loaned item taken from a display typically…

Add blocks view to new UI Manage Patron Services view
It would be really useful if, in addition to the user card, system and user notes views, we could also see user blocks. Although our staff see a pop-up when they first open the patron record, once it's acknowledged and the patron view page opens there is nothing else to indicate there is an outstanding user block.
We add a manual user block when an item is made lost, and staff sometimes forget to remove this when returning the item, especially if that person does not then borrow something else but if we had this view it would be more…

Add an already existing reading list from a course
When adding a reading list to a course, it would be nice if you could search already existing reading lists from the course. Right now, when you go to add a reading list, if a list already exists you get an error. But instead of being able to attach it there, you have to do a separate reading list search, identify the correct reading list, and add the course to the reading list. It feels like an unnecessarily backward process.

Reinstate hold on items expired from the hold shelf
Ability to reinstate the hold on a resource sharing item loaned through Tipasa. If a patron doesn't pick up the item after the set amount of days for pickup, the hold expires. If the patron comes to pick up the item after the hold has expired, there is no way to reinstate the hold so that the patron can check out the item. The Tipasa record is still active and Alma record still exists.

Add block information box on patron’s account landing page
Currently, when accessing a patron’s account through the “Manage Patron Services” tab, the patron’s account landing page does not show the block information (a pop-up does show up but with incomplete information, as recorded in a SF case). In order to access block information, one has to click on the patron’s name, and then navigate to the block tab.
The suggested idea would be that a box containing block information be added in the left-hand column of the patron’s account information, under the box containing loans, returns, requests and fines and fees information. Block types could be described with the…26 votes -
Batch modification of fulfillment unit service information
We need to update some or all of our location fulfillment Unit of all of our library.
Unfortunately, the Update Location API does not support bulk updates for multiple locations in a single request. Each API call is limited to a single location code.
We'd like to be able to make batch changes to our libraries' reader service units.1 vote -

Ability to remark letter example
In letter administration, currently when you switch to use a different letter example, the information you've got is the same letter name and the only difference is the date it is saved. for example FulUserBorrowingActivityLetter - 02/12/2024 04:08:56 GMT. It does not mean a lot when you are trying to switch to a difference example, one would rather it be remark as something more useful or special about that example, such as specific - usergroup, loan type, from library, etc.

Add link to requester's account when item returned
When an item is returned with a request on it, a pop up shows with information about the requester. Our staff would find it useful if this was a link to the user account. They often need to check information on the account, particularly for our library laptops, so this would save them rekeying the information.

Show letter category in Letters Config
In the documentation on Letters, the table includes a column for Category, which shows whether a letter is for Acquisition, Fulfillment, Digital, etc. (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/050Administration/050Configuring_General_Alma_Functions/070Configuring_Alma_Letters)
However, when you are actually in Letters Configuration, the table does NOT include Category, so there is no simple way to filter to see JUST the Acquisitions letters, or JUST the Fulfillment letters. It's also not a column that can be added to the view by clicking the gear icon.
It would be SUPER helpful to add the Category to the Letters Configuration table.

'Notes' field in User Group configuration - note field for each user group in the user group table
I know there is a tab for notes in user group configuration (Fulfilment>Patron Configurations>User Groups) but it would be more useful if there was a way of adding a note to each user group in the table, so it would appear as a column in the table next to Description. Then we could add what that user group includes, or how they are defined.
Thanks very much,

Personnalize "Users - Remove Blocks"
"Users - Remove Blocks" job removes expired blocks from user records. We want to customize the processing to automatically remove expired blocks and short blocks (1or 2 days) to avoid unequal treatment between users.

Using License Terms and Display Logic Rules to hide certain collections
Electronic Resources are not always available to all patrons at a subscribing institution, either due to region locking or prohibitive pricing for extending access to students at partner institutions/certain user groups. Currently in Alma/Primo VE there is no satisfactory way to stop these resources surfacing where a signed in user does not have access such as when Alumni or Walk In.
The restricted user groups feature is overkill in this regard. We don't want to limit a user groups access to CDI or EBSCO content entirely, just select collections/databases based on the licence restrictions pertaining to their user group.
What…

There should be a renew option for items checked out to a patron if patron is present with items checked out
I think there should be a Renew option so that you do not have to scan an item's barcode search your location then search for the barcode. In Sierra there is a renew option where you just scan item barcode and renew it without having to search or go into patron's account.

Add the edition statement to the citation display in alma
Could you add the edition field to the display of citations within Alma? It would make it easier to check that the newest edition is the one listing. Law books, for instance, might have a new edition each year and there is sometimes a cataloguing mismatch between the copyright and the publication dates with print/eBooks which is easier to disentangle if you can see the edition. The edition displays in the Title search results in Alma and in the citations on Leganto.

Add Fulfillment Note to the New 2025 Manage Patron Services Table Customization
We use the Fulfillment Note field to track Lost Items by recording the patron ID, replacement cost, and billing date to our Finance department, allowing us to efficiently identify returned lost items. Additionally, we check out lost items to a dedicated patron record to facilitate tracking, reordering, or withdrawal over time. Adding this feature to the Manage Patron Services Customization Table would help ensure these notes are consistently recorded.

Add a parameter to turn off Borrowing Activity Letter when using renew selected or renew all
Currently, the "Borrowing Activity Letter" is sent when a staff member renews items for a patron via Manage Patron Services.
This letter is often superfluous and the behavior is not ideal for libraries with "separate _ patron _ notifications _ by _ library" set to true – it ends up sending a letter from each library where the patron borrowed material.
If we had a parameter that could turn off sending it when renew selected or renew all is used, then we would turn it off and staff could elect to send it when they felt it was useful or…
