  1. Analytics Reports for Deleted Purchase Requests

I would like to be able to run Analytics reports on deleted purchase requests. Currently, deleted purchase requests are not available in Analytics. Therefore, we don't want to delete any of our hundreds of purchase requests because we'd lose the ability to generate Analytics reports on them. Having hundreds of old purchase requests accumulate in Alma becomes unwieldy.

  2. Add active link function to all fields where a URI in subfield u is valid

Subfield u for uniform resource identifiers has been defined as a valid subfield in many bibliographic fields to provide automated access to electronic resources.
    As noted in the OCLC bibformats: "Subfield ǂu defined as the URI is valid in the following fields: 031, 370, 381, 505, 506, 510, 514, 520, 530, 538, 540, 542, 545, 552, 555, 561, 563, 852, 856, 880, 883, 884, and 956. Additionally, subfield ǂu can be used in fields 901-907 and 945-949, either in accord with its control subfield definition or as a locally-defined subfield" (http://www.oclc.org/bibformats/en/controlsubfields.html#subfieldu).
Currently, only URIs in 856 subfield u…

  3. Buffer periods for Last Interest Date for Borrowing Requests

ISSUE: Quite a few of our borrowing requests are getting cancelled automatically by Alma, because people are setting a Last interest date of the same day or the next day. Unrealistic expectations are being created by the Last Interest Date. Yet, staff find it useful to know the Last Interest Date for borrowing requests where the patron indicates a date some time into the future.

LOCATION: ILL request form, patron facing (e.g. in Primo VE).

SOLUTION: Allow buffer periods to be implemented on the Last Interest Date. For example, a library may choose to create a 10 day…

  4. Deleting requests older then a certain date

Would it be possible to have a way of deleting physical item requests older then a certain date? Now it's only possible to delete all requests on a title, but that's not very useful.

Highly requested titles on a courses reading list is often not relevant after a certain date, when the course has ended. We sometimes see that old requests, that we haven't been able to fulfill, are causing unnecessary delay in fulfilling requests that are still relevant for the new, active course.

When we had to close the library in spring 2020, we…

It will be great if the User Type field could appear once you click to see the requester details in a borrowing request in Resource Sharing and in Fulfillment once you click to see who holds a loaned book (Screenshots attached).

  6. More information on Process Type Transit

In 'Item history', you can see when an item was checked in and out of transit, but not for whom or whereto. If something goes wrong with the transit, you can't get any information about the inactive/completed request.

  8. Requests Tab - Tasks

The Task Column displays the text "Not Started" if an item is On Loan. For Resource Sharing requests it displays the text "Not Started" for all statuses e.g. Created Borrowing Request, Request Sent to Partner, Digitally Received by Library, Waiting for Cancel Response etc... Is it possible to change this to a more meaningful text such as "In Process"?

  9. Allow Requesting several copies of the same volume of a title at once, by means of holding level request

We have title level requests, but in titles with several volumes, the request level comes down to de copy/item which needs the description.
If the call nr. is different for de different volumes, the holding level of the request, instead of the copy level, would allow patrons to pick the first copy of the volume available, not the one chosen from the list when they all are checked out.
We have bch configuration expecting this to be solved.

  10. Requestable by Campus Affiliated Patrons Only

We have an idea to reduce Transit Time: We whish to be able to limit physical items to be requested by campus affiliated patrons only.

This means that e.g. books in a specific collection in a specific library, is only requestable by the patrons affiliated with that specific library.

    Explanation:
Our most requested physical items is in the Compulsary Readings Collection. This collection consists of identical titles, and every campus library has this collection. The items are requested a lot, and by patrons on all campuses.
Result: These items fly back and forth between campuses, and…

Request, loan and booking fulfillment unit rules now have the option to define a rule that applies only to patrons of a given campus to enable limiting resources to students of the same campus only. The Patron Affiliated Campus rule appears in the input parameters of the Fulfillment Unit Rules Editor.

  11. Improvements to Pick From Shelf list needed

Currently our staff spend too much time managing requests. Improvements to the interface for Pick From Shelf would help in some of these cases. We would like to see:

    1. A search box.

Very often we need to target a particular request, a task made more difficult by less than ideal facets (see #2). Search functionality exists under Monitor Requests & Item Processes, but not all options for handling requests are available in that view (such as "Skip Location").

    1. Better facets.

Two of the facets available in the Monitor Requests & Item Processes view would be…

  13. Setting to default when only one Loan Period Policy

When placing a request for an item with only one Loan Period Policy, It would be more intuitive and friendly if it would be the default option so the patron shouldn't have to open the drop down and choose the only available option.

Setting the default Loan Period Policy would mean that the request must be fulfilled with that loan policy. That would mean that if there is a change in the items’ policy the request will be automatically cancelled. This may not be a desirable result.

If the patron really wants the request to be fulfilled only with the selected loan policy, the patron is expected to explicitly select that.

  14. Fulfillment: Physical item recall: option to recall more than one copy

Currently in Alma when a request is placed on a title where there are 10 copies all out on loan, and none available, a single real-time recall notification is sent to the patron who has the oldest loan, changing their loan status to 'recalled'. The 9 other patrons who have a copy are not made aware of the potential demand for the item at that time.

For the case where there are many copies of a title, the patron requesting the title could be better served if we were to recall more than one item. For example, we might…

  15. Ship digitally

We find the digitization workflow for Resource sharing tedious, and would like to have a shortcut directly from action menu, like for item and non-returnable.

This would be a new action from the Lending request: Ship digitally.

From there you should get the option to add a file, and ship it digitally to Borrowing library.

    Please see attachment for illustration.

  16. Adding a physical holdings drop down to the request brief result would help in person enquiries.

Case - Currently, when a user requests an item. If the user then comes to the libary and asks a college librarian to update them about how long before the item is ready to collect. If they search for the request and no item has been return that can fulfill the request. It takes 2/3 extra clicks to go via the 'view title in search' and find out the current availability of the items within that record.
Solution - It would better if it was possible to click on a drop down of all physical holdings on that…

  17. Delete multiple MARC fields after they are highlighted / selected in Metadata Editor

At the moment, you can select multiple MARC fields when you hold down CTRL, as can be seen by the fields highlighted in BLUE in the attached screenshot.

However, when one attempts to remove them (CTRL+F6), only the first field is deleted.

This is a request to delete all highlighted fields

As of March release for peer-to-peer resource sharing partners, you can trigger an automatic claim letter when a configured period of time is reached. For example, when the Automatic Claim check box is selected and the Time to Claim (days) field is set to 7, if a request was sent 7 days ago and the request’s status is still Sent, a claim letter is automatically triggered and the request status is set to Claimed.
You can also configure an option to send a cancel message and continue through the rota.

In case of an Email/SLNP partner, the letter is sent by email.

For ISO requests, the notice is sent in a General Message. The text in the message can be configured

  20. Document Delivery - 10 MB Attachment Limit too small

For document delivery (scanning and delivering book chapters and journal articles) the limit is 10 MB. This equals roughly 20 pages of black and white text only on default, low res scanning setting.

For anything in color or with detailed photos we typically cannot send, requiring us to cancel the request and deliver the scan outside of the Alma workflow.
