Allow staff to override if an item type is not requestable
We would like some books (like a reference book) to be non-requestable for a student. However, we would like for staff to be able to put in a request on a student's behalf for a reference book, or perform an override when appropriate.

“In Review” requests sorted by creation date
In the Acquisitions> Purchase Request> Manage Purchase Request> “In Review” requests, these are displayed in reverse order of the creation date.
It would be more useful if the default order was by creation date, that is, the oldest requests were shown in the top, so that they are managed in the first place. In this way, it would save time in their management.
Another possibility would be that the librarian could select the type of ordering of the requests.24 votes -
Adding the possibility to display the portfolio lists and the item list when creating a lending request from search
When creating a lending request from search, it would be nice if we could display the portfolio list and the items in order to have more info about the availability (coverage and status)

Block lenders from updating expired lending requests to shipped
Alma currently allows libraries to ship lending resource sharing requests even after they expire. This can occasionally create extremely confusing situations where the borrowing library receives multiple items from multiple libraries for the same lending request. Unfortunately, Alma completes both the borrowing and lending request when the lender who let the reqeust expire receives the item they shipped back from the lender. The only way to fix a problem like this is to delete the original reqeust at all three libraries and then create a brand new request. Can you please have Alma block any attempt to…

Use preferred email from Partner record for shipping digital Lending Requests
Often the Requester Email in a Lending Request is not the email that we can ship a digital item to (or sometimes the Requester Email is empty). Instead, the email address we use is from the preferred email address in the Partner record. We would like configuration to be made available so institutions could choose to use the preferred email address from the Partner record in Alma when shipping digitally instead of the Requester Email address that comes with the Lending Request.

Allow Patrons to Request Items in Work Orders
Currently, all work orders automatically make all items in that work order unavailable to patrons in the catalog. Some work orders may be for workflows or processes that can allow for items to be requested and pulled for users.
If, during the setup and configuration, work orders have the option of "allowing patron requests" or "do not allow patron requests" (similarly to how recall notices are an option), then some work orders can allow for patrons to request items so they can be pulled and delivered, based on the work order type.

Add min-max age filter (eg, 1 week-2 weeks) to resource sharing request
Our RS requests need regular maintenance. Typically we look at those that are at least 1 week old. The current request filters show all requests up to a week (Today, Yesterday, Three Days Ago, etc., up to a week) or up to a month (same as the other filter, except all the way up to 30 days). It would be nice to ONLY see requests of a minimum age (eg, 1 week and older). And possible a range (min-max slider).

Approved Purchase Requests should NOT appear in My Task List
The purpose of the My Task List is to highlight and provide easy access to Tasks which are awaiting processing. Only InReview and new, unprocessed Purchase Requests should appear in the Task List.
Ex Libris Response: "After the request is approved (or rejected), it is moved automatically to the Unassigned tab (thus, populating the Tasks list) for reference purposes. Users with the Selector - Extended role can delete requests (e.g. from the Unassigned tab), this updating the counter in the Tasks list."
We maintain that this is a bug, not an enhancement request -- Ex Libris has not…

Request for improved functionality "Search bibliographic records matching this value" in Alma's authority repository search.
We request enhancements to Alma's authority repository search function.
Currently, when we click "Search bibliographic records matching this value" from a specific authority record in the search result to move to the bibliographic record list page, we have not be able to back to the authority record list page displayed in the first search.
A Back icon is displayed on the bibliographic record list page, but even if we click it repeatedly, we will not be able to return to the authority list page, and will eventually move to the top screen of Alma.
Returning to the authority record list…14 votesThis idea has not received sufficient support from the community through votes. When Creating Borrowing Requests Check for Duplicates with previous completed and cancelled requests
Following the implementation of the ability to check for duplicates when creating borrowing requests, we see that this only applies to active requests. We would find it helpful to have duplicate completed and cancelled requests flagged up in Alma (without the request being automatically rejected)

Prevent placing different request types on the same item
Currently in Alma there is no cross check and no way to prevent a patron from placing both a Physical Item Request and the Digitization Request on a single item. The Ex Libris expectation is that requests will be reconciled through the request queues. However this adds additional time to the request process as it requires contacting the requester to confirm which type of request they need. I encountered the lack of a preventive configuration created a concrete clash as it came to our attention when a patron placed both types of requests on an item. This…

Purchase Requests API
A Purchase Request API is needed. This would allow the library to seamlessly integrate with internal systems.
From Francois Renaville: "We asked for this in May 2016 and were told in July 2016 (case 00222634 - API for Purchase Requests?) 'that API for purchase requests is on the Alma road map for 2017. Currently, there is no release date.' No news since then."

It is now possible to submit a purchase request using an API.

Requesting Multiple Volumes or Multiple Copies of One Title
Alma will not allow a patron to request a second volume of a title on the same record unless the item has a description. However, as one of our catalogers explained: "Since they are part of an analyzed set, the volume number goes on the holding record, not the item record, and therefore, there needs to be two holding records."
This is problematic for requesting analyzed sets from our off-site storage facility, which is where we get the most complaints from our patrons.
We put in a Salesforce case (#00485416) about this, but they closed it because they insist…

Adding 'citation type' to the facet in Resource Sharing Borrowing/Lending Request
Though I can distinguish book and article using other facets such as requested form, I think that citation type(book/article)is going to be more intuitive and useful. In addition, because I found it possible to use citation type as a facet in Acquisitions, including it in Resource Sharing is also proper considering coherence or unity of facets. I hope it is added soon.

Save emails to and from Patrons for Requests
When we “Send query to requestor” as we Manage Purchase Requests in Alma, it would help greatly if our communication “query” would be saved under a communications tab for that request. This would create a history of actions related to that request. Currently, I can only put notes into the “requestor note” field of the request, and there is no other record of queries sent to the requestor for that request unless I copy the query to myself. Connecting email messages in my box to the Purchase requests in Alma, is…

Sort booking requests by Start Time
When monitoring resource requests on Fulfillment > Monitor Requests & Item Processes, a "Sort by" button with an option to sort by Start Time would ease the handling of booking requests.
The booking requests are currently sorted by Request Date, which is not very useful, and can not be sorted by any other field.A "Sort by" button actually does appear on Fulfillment > Pick From Shelf.
Another option could be adding the Start Time on the drop down menu of the bar "Requests" on top of the page.

Choose more than one facet in Lending requests and Borrowing requests
Currently In Alma there is no option to choose more then one facet in the same category in the pages Lending requests and Borrowing requests.
for example I can't choose to watch Created lending request and Renew requested at the same time.
It will be very helpful if it works.19 votesThe new UI for Resource-Sharing Borrowing Requests and Lending Requests Task Lists has been released in August 2022, see the 'Borrowing Requests and Lending Requests' section in the release notes. Among many other features, this new UI allows for multiple criteria to be selected in each facet category, providing more flexibility in the creation of a filtered request list.

Automatically populate date and end time in booking request form
When placing a booking in Alma or Primo you need to choose a starting date then a starting hour followed by a starting minute. You then need to choose an end date then an ending hour and an ending minute. This is a lot of clicks to place one booking.
It would be nice if the end date, hour and time could be automatically populated based on the Terms of use of the item (so if the loan period is 2 hours and the start time is 2:30 then the end time could be automatically populated to say 4:30). If…
47 votesThank you again for sharing your idea and for the thoughtful input you've provided. When we first discussed it, I was optimistic about exploring it further,
While I had hoped to prioritize this enhancement, it hasn’t gained the traction we typically look for to move forward. As a result, it’s unlikely to be implemented in the foreseeable future. That said, your feedback remains valuable, and I’ll continue to keep it in mind as our roadmap evolves.

Move requests and temporary locations - option to flag for processing, etc.
At present the item move requests sometimes work too seamlessly. Especially for items that are onloan when the request are made (or the item is restored to its permanent location). This is an issue when the items need manual intervention, e.g. relabelling. Items go through the process without being flagged unless another process is used, e.g. a work order or fulfillment note.
It should be possible to flag items for manual intervention when they arrive at their new or original location. A message on the lines of 'Move Request: check labels etc.,' in the manner of a fulfillment…

Link approved purchase request to POL
Many of our Purchase Requests contain notes and comments that are useful in tracing purchase history and resolving issues. It would be useful to be able to open the Purchase Request from within a POL to access this information.
1 voteDear Steve,
Thanks for taking the time to share this idea. I’m glad to say that this is already supported and each PO line hold within it the “Additional” section where you can find the “Source type” field. When the source type field is “Purchase Request” it is linkable and direct the user to the purchase request which generated the PO line in view mode (including it’s notes if exists). Please see attached screen shot which present the link on the PO line to the purchase request. Thanks,
