Add a tab "re-loan" to Patron Services to return and re-loan items in one step
An additional tab (e.g. "re-loan" or "Wiederausleihe" in German) would be a valuable improvement to the Patron Services page.
The goal of this tab is the returning and re-loaning of an item to the patron in one step, with a pop-up warning if there are requests present in the request queue.
The option of a re-loan tab would be a big help in cases where large amounts of items are reloaned to the same person when the items reach the maximum amount of renewals. The additional tab would make the process easier, less error-prone and especially faster.174 votes -
Improve the resource sharing's audit
We would like to see on the audit of a borrowing request which actions were done.
For example, if we change or add something to a title, we could not see that anywhere.
We would like also to know if the publication date was changed, ...
We are a team of 5 librarians and with 10'000 requests from our users per year it's not possible to remember what everyone makes for each request. In attachment, the audit now and an example of our ancient audit (historique) on the ancient software.

Make it possible to mark items as "unavailable"
Please make it possible to mark items as "unavailable". This marking can be used in two situations: when an item or a set of items becomes temporarily unavailable to readers, and when items are withdrawn permanently.
Marking should be both manual and by running the job "Change Physical items information".
Ex Libris' advice to use a process is inappropriate because neither a process nor a process-related request is required in these cases.93 votesDear colleagues,
Thank you for raising this idea.
This idea is related to another one - https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173/suggestions/48370850, which was part of the CERV cycle in 2025, but did not make it to the final list.
During the analysis, 3 possible approaches were discussed, each has a different estimation and effort:
Option 1: New dedicated process type
- It will be possible to mark specific items as "unavailable", similarly to the way it is possible to mark them as "missing"
- Items marked as "unavailable" will be considered as "not in place"
- The new "unavailable" option will appear as a possible process type in all the places where there is a list of process types, including configuration options such as Fulfillment Unit Rules
Option 2: Mark a location as "unavailable"
- It will be possible to mark a location as "unavailable"
- All items in this location will be considered as "not in place"
- The…

POL and its communication must be sent to account provider email
At the moment in ALMA, if a POL has a communication:
• the POL is sent in a first notification to accound provider email
• the communication (with its file attached) is sent in a second notification to provider email.
This behavour is not logical and doesn't respond to our need.
Our request : POL and communication (with files attached) must be sent to accound provider email in one notification.
Thank you to support our request.14 votesHello All,

Option to export Alma search results and sets as CSV
Right now Alma search results and sets can only be exported in XLSX-format. For performance (and other) reasons it would be good to have the option to export in CSV format.
(Publishing this as an enhancement request was suggested by Ex Libris in public Salesforce case #00825531)

Allow individual process types for detailed borrowing rules.
It would be helpful to enable the individual process types to configure detailed borrowing rules. We have created several process types for items, such as "Searching," "Cataloging," and "Request on Hold." However, in the fulfillment unit rule parameters, these process types are grouped with the system-generated "Acquisition Technical Services" under the "In Process" category. Consequently, we cannot select them individually as parameters, which prevents the library from setting detailed borrowing rules for specific process types.

Allow loans/requests APIs to override blocks and limits
When using the Alma UI staff are able to override user blocks and loan/request limits when loaning an item or creating a request. With the API this is not possible. It would be helpful if the APIs had a parameter to perform a staff override in the same manner. This would allow automated loans and requests to work in scenarios where staff would have overridden the block/limit, and where it is desirable that the loan/request always succeeds.

Clearer displays for different types of Borrowing Requests
Borrowing Requests could use some greater detail and variability in the information fields that display when viewing them in the overall list of current requests. For example, in Borrowing Requests for book chapters (typically "digital format" requests for items with a "book" type), the "Chapter Title" field is hidden in the "Other details" tab; this field would be more immediately visible and helpful to staff if it displayed alongside other standard fields (ex: MMS ID, External Identifier, Partner, Requested Format, etc.) before clicking into "Other details". In addition, when a request specifies an article from…

Enable requests of multiple items of the same BIB-record
In Alma, it is generally not possible to request multiple copies of the same record. This possibility only exists if items are differentiated by the item description.
When it comes to special collections, patrons regularly want to compare multiple copies, which may differ. Such differences have generally not been recorded (hence no item description), which is exactly why people want to compare them. For collections in closed stacks, requesting from the catalog is the only way to obtain an item. However, we can currently not offer the option of requesting more than one copy to our patrons. Neither…

New Database Request: International Commercial Arbitration (ICMA)
Hello,
Can we please get this database added to Alma? It is called, "International Commercial Arbitration (ICMA)," from Oxford Legal Research Library.
ICMA combines texts covering key arbitral bodies and jurisdictions with officially recognized and endorsed works detailing the rules governing specific arbitral bodies.

Scan item barcode in Manage Patron Services
When using "Fulfillment -> Manage Patron Services" to view a user's account, the "Submit Request" button presumably could be used to put a hold request on an item for that user, but the only search index that this method allows is "All Titles". You can search for a title, and you can use the hamburger menu button to open up other options like MMS ID, ISBN, etc., but even this and the further embedded Advanced search only uses "All Titles". This means that you can't scan an item's barcode and put a request on that item using the "Physical…

SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS
When encountering a problem (such as the inability to reactivate a request), could the system provide a pop-up with a definition of the problem and a suggested solution, like Google's "Did you Mean"?

Add warning to "Scan In Items" and "Shipping Items" for certain item policies
We would like to suggest the implementation of a pop-up for "Scan In Items" and "Shipping Items" to alert staff when they are about to process an item with a restrictive item policy (e.g. 63, 67, 68, etc.).
For example, when a request is placed at the title level and there are multiple items with differing item policies, this pop-up would be helpful to avoid processing the wrong item.

Make the focus and displayed function configurable
in the Function "Fulfillment" - " manage user services" - "Patron services" - "submit request"
a popup screen is shown "Submit request". After select a title there are 4 action buttons:
"Patron Physical", "Booking", "Cancel", "Digitization"
(in this order).- Please put the Action "Cancel" at the first or last (better) place!
- Can we configure which buttons are shown (Digitazation, and Booking we not offer as a service)
- the action button "Digitazation" is the prefered action (focus is on that function), can we configure which action is the prefered action?

Edit an authority record when cataloging a bibliographic record
Here is an enhancement request concerning authorities.
Currently, when cataloging a bibliographic record in the metadata editor, we can press F3 in a field to choose an authority.
Example :
MARC21 field 100 -> F3 to choose an author authority.When pressing F3, the cataloger can :
- select an authority
- view an authorityI would like ExLibris to add a third option :
- edit authority(for example : after clicking on "view" an autor authority, I want to be able to edit it to add a field 4xx)
Thanks for taking this into account!
204 votesWhen you use F3 in the MD Editor and view a local authority record, there is a new action Edit to edit the local authority record. Edit is also available when viewing a local authority record using Browse Bibliographic Headings. See Viewing and Linking to an Authority Record for more information.

Add Closed Library Management Policy Rule to RS Borrowing TOU
Currently, when a borrowing request item is received, the due date of item is set by the lender's TOU. If the due date falls on a library close date, the due date remains unchanged. This causes the problem when clients are misled by the due date and would visit the library to return the item even though the library is closed. We would like to add in the Closed Library Management policy type to the RS Borrowing TOU so that we can indicate in the event the due date of the RS request falls on a library close date, Alma…

Allow Personal Delivery to be fulfilled from any library circ desk
Scenario: When an item belonging to another library that has an active home delivery request is returned or scanned in at another library's circulation desk, the item is put in transit to the owning library for the request to be fulfilled. The home delivery request should be fulfilled from any loans desk regardless of which library the item belong to.
We are multi campus institution with libraries 100s of kms apart. We require the personal delivery requests to be fulfilled from any of our libraries, instead having to return the items to the owning library.
A Salesforce was raised…16 votesA new configuration on the library will allow other libraries to handle personal delivery for that library’s items. This will take into account the scan-in library’s ability to handle personal delivery (having a primary circulation desk that supports personal delivery).

Multiple requests (Home Delivery pickup), Multiple Items, and Information Display on Scan In Page
Multiple requests with pickup as Home Delivery are placed against a title and there are one or more copies available. When staff collect the items from the shelves, they scan in the item barcode. Alma, if it can see that there are two identical requests, on the Scan in page will ask for the request ID. Staff then scan in the request ID for the first patron (with Home Delivery as pick up location) in the request list. This results in the first patron being loaned the item that was scanned in. The display on the Scan in…
