  1. "Make Toggle Missing Status Available from item editor"

    To mark an item as missing, you must currently use the Toggle Missing Item option from the inline action menu, which only displays when you are viewing a list of items attached to a given bib record. However, if you search for the item using a physical item search, and only one item matches your search criteria (for example, if you search by barcode), then the item record opens automatically in the physical item editor.   2. Automatic orders claiming

    At the moment Alma only sends one claim request to the vendor. If the ordered item is still not received, staff need to follow up and re-claim manually; usually a number of times.

    We would like to see claim cycle functionality in Alma so that we can configure follow-up claims based on a set interval per vendor, as well as a maximum number of claims to be sent before the order is automatically cancelled and the vendor automatically notified.   3. Improve Alma Link Resolver’s performance with Pubmed IDs (PMIDs)

    Improve Alma Link Resolver’s performance with Pubmed IDs (PMIDs) such that it is as good or better than Serials Solutions’ 360 Link performance with Pubmed IDs. Areas where this is currently a problem include translation of OpenURL data from Pubmed over to Illiad through Alma Linker and Primo, item level linking between Pubmed, Alma Linker and Cochrane Library, and probably many other areas.

  4. Ability to suppress licenses from discovery

    Sometimes, licenses have confidentiality clauses, so we can't show them in Primo, but right now, it is an all or nothing prospect. it would be great if a checkbox on the record could suppress a confidential license from showing up in Discovery.

  5. Add a view option for Attachments.

    Currently if you want to view an attachment (e.g. licence attachment, POL-attachment, etc) you have to download it to your computer. This is very annoying if you just want to have a quick glance at it as your are constantly cleaning out your downloads folder.
    It would be really great if there were a view option which either showed the document in a pop-up or opened it in another tab of your browser.

  6. Browsing Dewey in MD Editor

    We noticed that in Metadata editor the browsing in the 676 - Dewey field isn't available: we would like add the feature to scroll the lists from other records, as happens for the 6xx fields (subjects) and 7xx (authors).

  7. BATCH JOB TO CREATE ITEMS

    We need a batch job to add items to existing holdings records. During migration we did not realize the importance of having items for display in Primo. One of our locations shows (0 copies, 0 available) when we do have non-circulating copies.

  8. Improve Alma Job Reports for Failed Record

    It would be extremely helpful if more details were given when there are failed records or records with exceptions on the jobs we run in Alma. Many of the job reports only report the number of failed records. It would be great if the report would provide MMSID information so the we know what records failed.

  9. Alma Templates: allow user-by-user customization of default holdings templates

    The shared MARC21 holdings templates in Alma offer customization of the template properties, allowing the selection of one template as the default. This customization applies to the entire institution, and not the individual Alma user. Therefore, when we have multiple catalogers working with multiple templates, they all have to conform to one default template. It would be useful to allow each cataloger to set the default template for their workflow.

  10. Ability to add notes to invoice lines from invoices that are paid and closed

    We are aware that one can edit notes on an invoice that is already paid and closed. However, for subscriptions, journals and continuations we often have the need to add/edit notes on the invoice lines of invoices that are already closed and paid. Manually putting the invoice back in Review to edit / add notes to the invoice lines doesn't solve the problem as this makes the payment information disappear which we then have to re-enter.

    We require the ability to add notes to invoice lines from invoices that were already paid and closed without having to re-open the invoice.

  11. Ability to store & track VPAT® documents

    As part of the procurement or licensing process, many libraries may request that a vendor provide a VPAT® (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) in order to indicate their compliance with Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act. It would be desirable if functionality could be developed somewhere in Alma that would allow libraries to track & report whether/when a VPAT was requested and received, which VPAT version was used, and local notes related to accessibility testing.

  12. Title starts with search in Advanced Search

    Change "Title Starts With" search in Advanced Search

    There are situations when it's easier or more efficient to search by the beginning of the title. However, the “Title Starts With:” search in Advanced Search in Alma requires the user to know whether the title begins with an article (A, An, The) or not, and if so, which article it begins with. So users are expected to remember if a title begins with "A", "The", or no initial article in order to perform the search successfully. Why not just return both results, and let the user decide, instead of forcing them…

  13. RS Borrowing Requests – changing format before sending request

    We would like the ability to change the format of a request before sending it to a Partner – e.g. from book/book chapter to journal/journal article or vice versa.

    As our patrons don’t always know, or pay attention, to the actual source format, they often submit their requests with the wrong format, which our staff would like to fix before sending to Partners.

  14. Limit in house use entry through Scan in Items

    Alma records In House use via "Scan in Items" module and whenever item that is not on loan checked in. I would like to see a setting that will allow "In House use" to be registered only by Scan in Items. There are numerous occasions where staff may check in items but it is necessarily "in house use" by patrons.

  15. Allow configuration of which columns are in the the Print Slip Report

    For institutions that handle a large number of Patron Physical Item, and other request types dealing with their physical inventory, the Print Slip Report available under Fulfilment>Resource Requests> Pick from Shelf is a crucial workflow tool.

    However the report output is inflexible, including columns which are irrelevant to many customers and which require hiding/deletion in Excel formats before being printed for onward process by library staff.

    It would be a huge improvement to be able to configure the columns that go into this report to ensure that only the key ones are downloaded for each circulation desk's pick from shelf…

  16. Add Data Type category for the Title Report in COUNTER 5 section of analytics

    The Master Title Report of COUNTER 5 includes ebook and journal titles. It is difficult to use this master report in analytics without having a data type or section type option to differentiate between which titles are journals and which are ebooks. The master title report is useless in analytics without this option. Please add the data type or section type category from the COUNTER 5 Master Title Report into the Analytics Usage Report.

  17. Add a way to tell if an item/holding has 3 or more open requests

    It would be nice to know if a given item or holding has 3 or more open request. It would signal the acquisition that another copy of the title would be helpful. This could be achived for example if the queue number is searchable, either in analytics or in the request search.

  18. Batch deleting PO's

    There is currently no system job to delete PO's. These have to be done manually using the Acquisitions>Purchase Order>Delete PO function individually in ALMA.

    We have 1000's of old orders migrated from our legacy system that are no longer required. We also now only keep 7 years worth of orders in line with current financial practice and so would like to be able to set a job to batch delete at rollover into the new fiscal period.

  19. batch job de/activation of proxy enabled setting at service level

    You can de/activate the proxy setting in batch for portfolios, by using the "Change electronic portfolio information" job on a set. Unfortunately you cannot at this stage do the same on Services or Collections.

    I have approximately 30 services that I would like to change EZproxy enabled from YES to NO. I do not want to run a batch job on the portfolios - I want the proxy to be determined at service level and the portfolios to inherit the settings. It would be helpful if this could be done as a batch job rather than editing each service manually.

  20. Add ‘Bokbasen’ as a new provider in the Upload Electronic Holding functionality in Alma

    The collection Bokbasen Allvit (which contains Norwegian academic e-books) is now added to CZ. There is a need for a solution for the administration of this collection. The library administrator can at any time purchase a new time-limited e-book license or change the budget for pay-per-loan titles. This, in combination with time-limited licenses expiring at different times and days (365 days after the purchasing date) will cause the catalogue of available titles to change continuously.
