  1. Automate Work Order creation based on item location.

    Boston College would like to be able to configure Alma so that work orders are auto-created for materials in a designated location when they are placed on loan.

    Here is the desired workflow:


    1. Item is loaned.

    2. At the same time, Alma automatically places a work order on the item.

    3. When the item is returned to the managing circulation desk the work order is triggered and the item is routed to the correct work order department for processing.

  2. Receiving workbench - more functionality

    Receiving workbench should be the most logical place to have an Open Expected Items button when you run out of predicted items. An option to withdraw expected items on the receiving workbench should also be available if during receipt the receiving operator becomes aware that an issue will not be published.

  3. Allow cataloguers to choose which names are linked to authority files

    Allow cataloguers to choose which names are linked to authority files

    This is important because the all on or off automatic linking creates links for unqualified names and catalogers want the option to verify and thus link names in the way it is done in connexion.

    This when the authority data is updated - every record attached to it is improved and unqualified or non-established names do not get affected.

  4. Ability to find bib records with attached PO lines but no inventory

    Problem:
    It is not possible to easily find IZ bibliographic records that have associated PO lines but no inventory. The All Titles Advanced Search has an option to search for “Has inventory | equals | no”, but those results include bibliographic records that have related holdings records (bound withs), as well as bibliographic records that have holdings records but no item records. We want the ability to easily find bibliographic records that have only a PO line associated with them.

    Use Case:
    The ability to find bibs with only PO lines attached is necessary in order to keep the database…

    Hi,

    Instead of create term by term when working with controlled vocabulary, enable the option of upload an excel file or any csv file that will do that.

  6. Allow staff to override if an item type is not requestable

    We would like some books (like a reference book) to be non-requestable for a student. However, we would like for staff to be able to put in a request on a student's behalf for a reference book, or perform an override when appropriate.

  7. Allow configuration of which columns are in the the Print Slip Report

    For institutions that handle a large number of Patron Physical Item, and other request types dealing with their physical inventory, the Print Slip Report available under Fulfilment>Resource Requests> Pick from Shelf is a crucial workflow tool.

    However the report output is inflexible, including columns which are irrelevant to many customers and which require hiding/deletion in Excel formats before being printed for onward process by library staff.

    It would be a huge improvement to be able to configure the columns that go into this report to ensure that only the key ones are downloaded for each circulation desk's pick from shelf…

  8. Enable bulk due date changes based on a set of items listed by barcode

    We've had occasions where it would have been useful to be able to create a set of items, for example, in Alma Analytics. Then to take that set of items, e.g. a CSV or Excel file listing the barcodes, and then to update the due dates of all those items, to a new fixed value.

    This is similar to the current Bulk Due Date Change functionality, but with the addition of uploading a list of items to change.

  9. Adding more scheduling options for emailing Scheduled Reports (Alma Analytics Objects)

    Currently, there are limited scheduling options for emailing Scheduled Reports (Alma Analytics Object area). Many of our users need reports delivered on the 1st of each month in order to capture the previous month's data. The only option right now somewhat close to that is delivery on the 2nd of each month. This doesn't work for us because it adds the first day's worth of data from the next month to the previous month. I propose adding delivery options for the 1st of each month.     Hi everyone. This will be considered. First a comment and a question.
    Regarding “how about offering a drop-down list where users can choose a certain day of the month for report delivery”.
    This will not happen. Jobs of this nature need to be scheduled so that resources can be properly distributed.
    Regarding adding additional time, that may happen. Now a scheduled report has the following possible options. What would you like to see added and or changed?
    Every Monday at 03:00
    Every Monday at 07:00
    Every Monday at 09:00
    Every Day at 03:00
    Every Day at 07:00
    Every Day at 09:00
    On the 02 of every month at 03:00
    On the 02 of every month at 07:00

  10. Alternative Call Number in Manage Patron Services-Requests

    In Manage Patron Services, tab Requests, we can’t display or add Alternative Call Number.
    For us is important the visibility of this field due to it’s our location system.
    We would like this field to be displayed.

  11. Batch deleting PO's

    There is currently no system job to delete PO's. These have to be done manually using the Acquisitions>Purchase Order>Delete PO function individually in ALMA.

    We have 1000's of old orders migrated from our legacy system that are no longer required. We also now only keep 7 years worth of orders in line with current financial practice and so would like to be able to set a job to batch delete at rollover into the new fiscal period.

  12. Provide birthdate information in search results of patron search

    When searching for patrons through Fulfilment>Manage Patron Services, it would be useful if the search results included the patron's birthdate so that library staff had a unique identifier to check against when there a multiple patrons with the same name.

  13. portfolio deactivation date

    Currently, when you create a local electronic collection, you have the ability to set "active from" and "active until" dates at the collection level. We have electronic collections where we purchase 1 year of access for select titles (collections such as Kanopy). It would be great if we could set deactivation dates at the portfolio level. With a deactivation date, once the year of access is complete, we wouldn't have to remember to deactivate the individual portfolios.

  14. Ability to add notes to invoice lines from invoices that are paid and closed

    We are aware that one can edit notes on an invoice that is already paid and closed. However, for subscriptions, journals and continuations we often have the need to add/edit notes on the invoice lines of invoices that are already closed and paid. Manually putting the invoice back in Review to edit / add notes to the invoice lines doesn't solve the problem as this makes the payment information disappear which we then have to re-enter.

    We require the ability to add notes to invoice lines from invoices that were already paid and closed without having to re-open the invoice.

  15. Re-sequence MARC fields by each tag when running a normalization rule

    Currently, after running a normalization rule on a set of bib records, the bib records display the 5XX fields out of order, e.g. 500, 546, 506 etc. This occurs even after running the CnmarcBibReSequenceTask as fields between 500 and 899 are not sorted, or sorted only by hundreds (this was the information given to us by a member of staff when we reported the issue on the ExLibris Customer Portal).

    Having all fields in the correct order would ease any future cataloguing needed on these records, or when staff members view the record for work purposes.

  16. Alma Templates: allow user-by-user customization of default holdings templates

    The shared MARC21 holdings templates in Alma offer customization of the template properties, allowing the selection of one template as the default. This customization applies to the entire institution, and not the individual Alma user. Therefore, when we have multiple catalogers working with multiple templates, they all have to conform to one default template. It would be useful to allow each cataloger to set the default template for their workflow.

  17. Add a view option for Attachments.

    Currently if you want to view an attachment (e.g. licence attachment, POL-attachment, etc) you have to download it to your computer. This is very annoying if you just want to have a quick glance at it as your are constantly cleaning out your downloads folder.
    It would be really great if there were a view option which either showed the document in a pop-up or opened it in another tab of your browser.

  18. Show completed requests in RS without having to enter search term

    At the moment, completed requests are hidden from records and have to be searched by entering matching search terms. Our ILL staffs are finding facets appearing left to active requests records very helpful, as they reportedly spare staff members' effort and time to enter search terms and go through all the unwanted information. This applies to completed requests as well, as the staffs have to revisit them every now and then. It would be greatly appreciated if completed request records could be seen, limited, searched and browsed just like active requests, without having to enter search terms.

  19. Add a linking job for mass linking of NZ records to IZ

    Currently the only way to use records from NZ in an IZ is to search them in the NZ and perform an action like "order" or "link" on every single record one by one. There are, however, situations where an IZ wants to use a bulk of records. For this purpose we need a possibility to link records in bulk and create inventory for the linked records.

  20. Automatic orders claiming

    At the moment Alma only sends one claim request to the vendor. If the ordered item is still not received, staff need to follow up and re-claim manually; usually a number of times.

    We would like to see claim cycle functionality in Alma so that we can configure follow-up claims based on a set interval per vendor, as well as a maximum number of claims to be sent before the order is automatically cancelled and the vendor automatically notified.
