  1. Display Open Access Indicator based on Setting at the Portfolio Level

Currently, the Open Access (OA) indicator displays in Community Zone records when the record contains a 506 field with the following formatting:

    506 0_ $f Unrestricted online access $2 star

Records in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) collection are automatically enriched with this data, but not records in any other collection. The rationale is that the OA indicator may appear on records that are not available as OA in all collections, leading to a confusing display. However, this can lead to cases where institutions do have OA access, but cannot display the OA indicator.

    To avoid both of…

  2. Alma collections: Allow to add multiple titles from network zone

We very much appreciate that the idea Alma collections: Allow to add from network zone (https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/44841430-alma-collections-allow-to-add-from-network-zone), which allows to add NZ records to IZ collections, could be developed. However, we think the usefulness of this feature would be greatly improved if it was possible to add more than one record at a time, for example via sets.

  3. Add all patron-delivered letters to Selected Patron Letters opt-in/opt-out choices

It would be very useful to list all letters that are delivered to patrons in the Selected Patron Letters options. Letters like Loan Receipt and Borrowed By are conspicuously absent, but we have many patrons who don't want to receive an email every time they check something out. Others patrons do, so we don't want to globally disable these letters.

The fact that Selected Patron Letters includes letters that require patron action (Overdue Notice, Recall letter) but not letters that are more informational (Loan Receipt, Borrowed By) seems backwards. Regardless, all patron-delivered letters should be available for opting in/out.

  4. Add a "delete" command in addition to the "withdraw" command

Currently, when a staff deletes an item record, the person can only use the "withdraw" command, even if the person is deleting an item record created by mistake. Adding an additional Delete command will distinguish the two purposes. We can then pull out WITHDRAW statistics in Design Analytics for the true withdrawn items, and not including the number of item records deleted for purposes of cleaning up data.

  5. Fully receive items through receiving date only

Currently, if an item with a POL has a receiving date, it is not considered fully received until it has been received under Acquisitions > Receive. Items with a POL and a receiving date that have not been received through the receiving process show up in the task list under Order Lines with Claims > Not fully received. If an item has a receiving date, it should be considered fully received, whether or not it has been through the receiving process.

  6. browse by subject headings to include 600/610/611

currently browse bib headings by subject does not include 600/610/611 fields (they are placed in 'names'). When browsing by subject one would expect to find all subjects including those that describe people/companies etc.

  7. Update import profiles, so portfolios are listed in ALMA & Primo in the same order as the 856 fields in the bibliographic record

Currently electronic portfolios are generated from the 856 fields in the bibliographic record, but they appear in reverse order in ALMA and Primo. Vendors often have 856 for multiple volumes in their records and they often list URLs in the order of their importance. In my attached example, the vendor includes a link to browse the particle resource first, then links to search the collections which contains the resource. The links are listed in order of importance. It is confusing to the user to list v.2 before v.1 and less important searching options before the most direct way of access…

  8. Allowing the ability to freely assign different jobs to different users.

There are cases where we want the user to only be able to handle a specific task that is beyond their user role, but currently in order to do that we have to assign them with roles that allows them access to jobs we don’t want them to have access to.

  9. The "maximum renewal date" (max_renew_date) should be part of the fields that are provided by API

The max-renew_date is viewable in Primo, but if you use another Discovery it can't be displayed because it is not provided by API.

  10. Indication rule that checks if subfields are in the same field

Currently it is not possible to write an indication rule which checks the subfield a and b of a field only when both subfields are in the same field and not in repeated fields of the same record. Both of the following records are treated the same when looking for a subfield a "mercury" and subfield b "venus" in the 690 field:

    Record 1:
    690 $$a mercury $$b venus

    Record 2:
    690 $$a mercury $$b mars
    690 $$a earth $$b venus

I'd appreciate an option to distinguish if I'm looking for subfields in different fields or in the same field.…

  11. option to "Send Return Receipt" from "Return items"

When I'm returning books from the drop box, using "Return Items", I would really appreciate the option to "Send Return Receipt" in cases where the patron has accrued fines. It makes sense from a customer service standpoint - rather than the fine eventually going to billing (and adding the billing fee) without ever letting the patron know that they owe a fine. This is similar to the last idea posted, but subtly different, so I thought I'd go ahead and suggest this.
    Thanks, Marian

  12. Option of standard clock time or military time

The 24 hour standard clock time is more feasible for reserve/loan periods rather than military time, or at the very least incorporate both options for the user. Military time is too confusing for our student workers. We had to use a cheat sheet to convert military time to standard clock time to avoid giving incorrect information to the patrons.

  13. Notify receiver of Hold Items

Currently within an order when the Hold Item box is ticked for an Interested User the patron physical item request is not placed for the item until after the item is received.
This means that receiving staff do not get the pop up notification that the item has a user request at the time the item is received.

Upon receipt of an item that contains an Interested User with the Hold Item checked can you please generate the same pop up notification generated for physical item requests.

We have found that we have to manually add the physical item request…

  14. Ability to customize Discovery display labels for work orders down to the status level

For Discovery display labels (labels in Primo), all work order types (fulfillment, bindery, and acquisitions) are controlled through the following two customizations:

    1) c.uresolver.getit2.itemlist.status.WORKORDERDEPARTMENT.
    with
expected_date In process of {0} until {1} (where 0=Work Order Type, and 1=Work Order Days to Process)

    2) c.uresolver.getit2.itemlist.status.WORKORDERDEPARTMENT.
    with
noexpecteddate In process of {0} (where 0=Work Order Type)

So, currently, we cannot customize down the the statuses setup (local to us) under the work order departments, but this would be helpful to do. For instance, we have fulfillment work orders with a status of Trace Requested,…

  15. Configure courtesy loan letters by location or item policy.

It would be nice to be able to configure courtesy loan letters by either location or item policy, so that letters aren't generated for a 2 hour reserve.

  16. Make Manage Fulfillment Activities the same thing as Manage Patron Services

I found this idea buried in a comments section and felt it deserved its own idea since my team keeps encountering the same problem.

    https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/11117682-payment-option-on-user-fines-fees-tab

Iain Gray said: "After finding a user it would be useful if when clicking on Manage Fulfillment Activities you were presented with the same screen as though you had used the Manage Patron Services screen. Instead you do not see the option to pay Fines and Fees from here and have to re-enter users details again."

I'll add that it would be great if Manage Patron Services and Manage Fulfillment Activities were the same page…

  17. A "kill switch" for General System Administrators to immediately disconnect individual Alma users

Use case: A library employee (student or staff) responds to a phishing text message by providing their Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials; SSO is used on our campus for Alma authentication. I want to (1) disable all the roles on the library employee's account except for Patron; (2) disconnect the employee if he/she/they/* has an active session in Alma; and (3) be notified with the IP address of the originating computer if he/she/they/* attempts to log in again. I would like to accomplish both #1 and #2 by checking a box ("Disable roles") and moving a slider ("Disconnect user"), WITHOUT having…

  18. Add Melingo to ALMA

    Hello,

The assimilation of Melingo in Primo for the customers in Israel proved to be a useful solution.
It would be nice if it can also be implemented in ALMA.
If Melingo will indeed be in ALMA, the catalogers will no longer need to add Ktiv Maleh or Ktiv Haser in Hebrew in variant titles.

    Thanks.

  19. Copy subscription date range

When adding an invoice line for a POL which has subscription date it would be useful if there was an option to copy the POL Subscription dates to the ‘Subscription Dates Range’ in the invoice line rather than having to enter it. Especially if there are multiple invoice lines it would speed up entering the data and avoid errors.
