The Lost item process fee (aka Lost item fine) should be automatically removed when an item is found.
The Lost item process fee (aka Lost item fine) should be refunded when an item is found. Currently, only the Lost Item Replacement Fee is refunded. This requires staff intervention, having to manually waive the fine. This is not always caught when books are returned through the drop slot, for example. It causes confusion for both patrons and staff when a fine remains on a patron's account for an item that has been found.

If this were instituted, it should be optional. For some of our Internal patrons who are repeat offenders, we sometimes leave the processing fee in place if it was labor and time-intensive to get materials returned.
Could it be set for External patrons, but not internal?

This has caused a lot of confusion and unnecessary fines at our institution and I think not only should there be clearer knowledge articles on the lost item processing fee but there should be an option allowing you to configure whether you want them to automatically be waived or not.
We found a workaround tackling the fines that resulted by bulk waiving the fines by type and selecting lost item processing fee, but this still requires some level of staff intervention when, for our institution, we would prefer this to mirror the behaviour of our lost item replacement fee settings.
