Improvement in Borrowing request search
When searching Borrowing Requests, we would like the ability to make keyword search and to be able to search for barcodes.
This would enable staff to work more efficiently, since they would have the ability to search across indexes, and search specific requests with a barcode.

Prevent items to be loaned immediately when they are returned at a SIP2 Self check machine and have a Rapido personal delivery request
When a loaned item is returned at a SIP2 Self check machine and has a Rapido personal delivery request, the item is automatically loaned to the patron (and sorted to a request bin). Requested items then are scanned in at a circulation desk for further processing. In case of a personal delivery request, the item is immediately returned and marked for reshelving. Librarians do not see that there was a request (and a short loan).
Previously we handled personal delivery requests via a GetIt request. The effect was the same, but we were able to…

Converting Digitization request to RS request - The “Delivery Location” should be selected as “Alternative address”.
When converting a digitization request to resource sharing borrowing request. The “Delivery Location” should be selected as “Alternative address”. So that the rapidILL proess can run automatically. Or at least Customers should be able to pick a default location for the address when a request is converted to a resource sharing borrowing request.

Configurable hard coded date for request expiry
We've struggled with users not understanding the purpose of the 'Not needed after' date field in the various request forms linked to Primo VE. This often means we received requests with supplied 'Not needed after' dates of a few days later meaning they're cancelled before even being in transit or picked, particularly on unstaffed weekends. Relabelling the field hasn't helped matters due to users not paying attention to it and thinking it's a 'needed/collect on' mandatory date.
If possible we would like the ability to set a hard coded expiry range for non-processed requests. For example, if a…

Add "Loans (Not in House) From Resource Sharing Lending Request" measure
Currently in the Fulfillment subject area in Analytics, there is a measure for "Loans (Not in House) From Resource Sharing Borrowing Request". It would be helpful if any item loaned from our collection to another institution as part of a RS lending request have a loan measure applied to it as well so we can see how the collection is being used using just one report.

Request for Improvement of the Physical Item Receiving Function in the Library
Currently in Alma, when librarians receive physical items that have been ordered and have arrived at the library, items with a patron physical item request and items without a patron physical item request must be processed separately.
It would be helpful to have a feature that allows librarians to receive both types of physical items—those with a patron physical item request and those without—together in a single receiving workflow.

Automatic transfer of the RS borrowing request cancellation note
Functionality wanted: Cancellation notes in Resource Sharing Borrowing Requests to be transferred to the resource Notes tab automatically.
Currently, cancellation notes in Resource Sharing Borrowing Requests don’t get transferred to the resource Notes tab automatically. However, since it is used in cancellation notification emails for users, ILL staffs should be able to have access to the same information the users see. This is necessary as it will help ILL staffs address user inquiries about the cancellation in a timelier manner when they come up. Otherwise it will take ILL staffs minutes to go through all the related materials…

No automatic cancelling of request when changing item location (or a more useful error message).
When we change location for an item we always get an error message that says that the change can lead to requests being cancelled (if there are any). But since it always shows, even when there are no request (which is most of the time in our experience), it is easy to ignore.
We would like to be able to choose if a request should be cancelled or not, even if the new location shouldn’t allow requests for the user.
Another possibility is that that the error message only shows when it is relevant and there actually are …19 votes -
Purchase Request suggestions
- An extra field for an interested user other than the requester
- More mandatory fields (with red asterisk): Funds, Owning Library, Estimated Price

Add webhook event for Resource Sharing lending request
Actually we can intercept a RS borrowing request via webhooks in two ways, via a new request event or via a new item event (using a RS location filter), but there seems to be no events for lending request until the resource is located and the temporary RS location is applied. We need a specific webhook event that occur when a RS lending request is created.

Add Additional Fields to the Create Purchase Request Form
We have access services library staff who create purchase requests for items to place on reserve as well as requests from students and faculty. It would be very helpful to Acquisitions staff to have a few additional fields/enhancements on the Create Purchase Request form:
Add a Receiving Note to the form - we add reserve information to the receiving note so that the staff member receiving the item sees that the item is for reserves. Checking the notes tab is an extra step and the note could easily be missed.
Requester field. The requester automatically becomes…

Ability to edit request priorities
We would like the ability to edit, i.e. rename or translate, the names of the request priorities in the Manual priority drop-down menu in the request queue. It is not entirely obvious which to choose, and we would like to be able to eg. number them from 1. to 8. It was suggested to us by Ex Libris support that we promote this question through Idea Exchange.

Visibility that staff is working on a Borrowing or Lending request via facet
Description
Enhancing visibility into requests currently being processed by colleagues will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Resource Sharing Borrowing and Lending operations.
Please add a facet option to filter out any “free” requests that aren’t being worked on by other staff. By streamlining workflows, libraries can ensure a smoother process, a better client experience, and a more coordinated collaboration among borrowing and lending libraries.
Alternatively, it could be a note on the request or something similar - a visibility feature that allows staff to better allocate their time by avoiding overlaps and duplicate efforts.

Request for a List of Selectable Special Characters in the MDE Virtual Keyboard
Request regarding the MDE virtual keyboard for inserting special characters, which became available with the August 2025 release.
I would like to be able to view all available characters at once, or to change the order of the character code blocks in the drop-down menu.
It would be especially helpful if the characters could be displayed in Unicode order.
Currently, characters are grouped and selectable via a drop-down menu, but this structure requires users to know which set contains the character they want to input.
This makes the process inconvenient, especially when searching for less common characters.139 votes -
Retain recall overdue fines even if the request is cancelled
When a request is cancelled, we would like the fine incurred for an overdue recall to remain in place (for the days up until the recall is cancelled) to deter customers from keeping a title that may be required by others. Currently, overdue fines disappear from manage patron services when a request and the recall is cancelled.

'Manage purchase request' page report to include fields like ISBN
The ‘course instructor’s name’ and the ‘course name’ fields are not there in the ‘create purchase request’. So, we write the course instructor’s name under the Requestor tab and Librarian's name who has inputted the request on Requester Note. If there were separate fields we could have searched by the name of the Librarian also as we cannot filter by requester note.
After creating a purchase request, when we export the requests to an Excel sheet using the ‘export list’ icon on the Manage purchase request page, we don’t get fields like ISBN, Publisher,…4 votes -
Lending request can go wrong too easily
As it is now when one is doing more lending request it is too easy to make a mistake. When you chose Ship suddenly we cannot see which document that you are shipping so one can easily believe and chosing a barcode that doesn't belong to that post goes just as swiftly as the one you should have chosen. It is no way of seeing that things have gone terribly wrong.
Then when you try to ship the other using the right barcode that doesn't go and NOW you see something is WRONG, and you have 2 faults in stead…

Add option to close library for borrowing or lending requests based on format of request
A library can close for borrowing or lending requests and include dates when the library can't process borrowing or lending requests. It would be helpful and provide more efficient processing of borrowing and lending requests if requests could be deflected by format.
As a borrowing library, there are times when a patron's article requests could be processed and sent to a lending library, but a physical request can't be processed.
Borrowing physical requests may not be possible because the physical library building is closed, and the item can't be delivered to the location.

Add an order action in the Purchase Request to “Approve and order from the CZ
Add an order action in the Purchase Request to “Approve and order from the CZ.” Alma would add an alert to the citation and redirect the user to the Community Zone, to the desired portfolio. The operator will only need to click on the "Approve and order from the CZ". Currently the only Action is “Approve and Order” which creates a local portfolio not linked to an E-Collection. It’s cumbersome and time consuming to re-link the POL and portfolio to the correct Community Zone record.

Include the workflow step status of a "pick from shelf" request in the API
If a "pick from shelf" request is created in Alma, it initially has the workflow step status "new". After printing the Resource Request Slip Letter, the workflow step status switches to "in process", showing that the request is now being fulfilled (meaning an employee is now picking the item from the shelf).
If this difference was included in the API call, it could be used by a discovery system to enable patrons to cancel a request only if the Resource Request Slip Letter has not yet been printed. Thus, patrons could cancel "new" requests, but not those that are…
