Historical Requests in the Resource Request Monitor : search by patron barcode
In the Resource Request Monitor, we cannot search by patron barcode.
It's easier for us to search a user by his patron barcode as by name. User's name is not a unique identifier.
Is it possible to add this option in the drop down menu?
Thanks,
Charlotte.1 voteAs of November release when searching historical requests in the Resource Request Monitor, it is now possible to search by the patron’s primary identifier within the Identifier search scope

No requesting when available items in institution
We would very much like there to be an option in Alma fulfillment units (On Shelf Request Policy): "No requesting when available items in institution".
The meaning of which would be that if there is at least one (requestable) item available at any holding, the user will not be able to make a title request. The system will consider all items in the institution, not just one holding at a time.
Currently we use the "No Requesting from available holding" option which means that when all (requestable) items on one holding are checked…

Consultation in Alma FF
There is no easy solution in Alma FF to indicate that an item has been consulted in the library and that it can be reshelved.
When items are placed on the hold shelf and are briefly consulted in the library, there is no easy way to directly reshelve them in Alma FF. The workarounds are far from ideal and are very labour-intensive when facing a large amount of physical requests: cancel the request (but this is not correct and influences our request statistics) and reshelve via the expired hold shelf, update the expiry date to yesterday (but this requires…

Specify time period for SUSHI harvests
When you manually request a particular SUSHI account/report to be harvested by Alma, by default Alma requests any data which it hasn't already loaded for that account from the last 12 months. If there are multiple months in sequence missing, Alma requests the data for these months together as a single SUSHI request.
This is an inflexible system.
Instead, at the point where a user requests a harvest, Alma should ask the user to specify the time period they would like to request. This would have several advantages:
- We would be able to use SUSHI…
168 votesAs of August release it is possible to indicate SUSHI – "Custom Harvest.
“Custom Harvest" function provides an option define the exact time frame for the harvest period

Pages option for digitization requests
Creating a partial Patron digitization request allows you to define two "from: / to:" page intervals. Sometimes, articles are spread across more intervals, but with no space for this information, that data is lost.
We would like to see a simple text field: "Pages:" to be used in situations as this. This already exists in Lending requests and should also be available for digitization requests.9 votes -
Allow patrons to renew the due date of their item, if a request on title level exists, but their copy is not the recalled one
Please offer the option to configure physical item requests in a way that ONLY the recalled copy is blocked from being renewed.
All other patrons who have loaned a copy should be able to renew their due dates according to the maximum renew period. Our institution offers patrons to place requests on borrowed media on title level. ALMA sets the copy with the earliest loan date to the renew status "recalled". Until this - or any other copy - has been returned, ALL other copies of the title cannot be renewed and therefore have to be returned to…
60 votesIn the Fulfillment Configuration, the Block Preferences menu allows setting how the ‘Not Renewable – Item has Request(s)’ block will work. If set to ‘Handle Automatically’ then only the recalled loan will not be allowed for renew.

Need Number of requests and clickthroughs per service type in Alma Analytics
In Alma, we have General Electronic Services (GES) for ReprintsDesk. ReprintsDesk is our document delivery provider. The ReprintsDesk GES appears in the services window in Primo or when linking out from a database. If there is no full text found, the patron can request the article via ReprintsDesk. I need to get statistics for each quarter on how many times the GES was clicked.
In SFX, we ran a query for the number of document delivery requests. It was in the SFX query "Number of requests and clickthroughs per service type” and the service type getDocumentDelivery. We need…

Reactivate exported borrowing resource sharing requests
Resource sharing borrowing requests which have been exported to third party broker systems should be able to be reactivated, in the same way as completed requests sent to P2P partners.
This is needed because we make mistakes! Sometimes a request is sent to a broker by accident.
We also need to be able to handle workflows which combine brokers and P2P partners. We want to be able to send a request to a broker system, and then if the request cannot be filled via that broker, to be able to return to the Alma request and assign alternative…

Limiting the list of Lending and Borrowing requests to the current Owning library
When we go to the list of Lending requests or Borrowing requests (either via the Tasks menu or directly under Fulfillment),
we get requests for both our libraries/campuses. This is the case, even if we have already chosen one of the libraries as our «current location».
When we choose one particular library as the current location it would be very helpful to get a list of request only for this library.
As it is now, we need to scroll down at the bottom of the left-side menu to choose the current Owning library.
Alternatively, if the above…35 votes -
Prevent sending cancellation letters to Partners when a patron cancels a Resource Sharing request via Primo
Alma sends a cancellation message of a Resource Sharing borrowing request to a partner when a requester cancels this request in Primo. (Notifying a campus library to which a requester is assigned about a request cancellation is fine, but external partners should not be informed.)
There should be an option in Alma to prevent patrons' cancellation requests being sent to external partners, as this is currently not possible:

Make the confirmation message after a task is completed a hyperlink
When a task is completed in Alma, such as the creation of PO Line, a confirmation message appears at the top of the screen in Alma, such as:
Your request to order now POL-227 has been submitted.
OR
The request was successfully submitted : request id = 701397340002914
In these cases, we would like the identifying number given in the confirmation message to be clickable as a hyperlink and route the operator to the record, request, or POL that was just created or modified. So for the PO line, POL-227 would be clickable and open the POL for edit;…

Ability to Toggle the Missing with Fulfillment Role
Currently, the only way to mark an item missing with a fulfillment role is from a request. However, circulation staff often need to mark items missing that do not have requests. As far as I can tell, it requires the Physical Inventory Operator role to toggle the missing status from the item record. I would like staff to be able to toggle the missing status without having permission to edit/add records. Marking something missing is typically a fulfillment activity though and not always related to a request.

RS BORROWING : A misleading error when patron's library card has expired
When trying to receive or send a borrowing request that is already open in alma, but the patron's library card has expired since then,
The message says: NO ITEMS CAN FULFILL THE SUBMITTED REQUEST
There is no way to guess that there is a problem with the patron info.
a better message would be: "there is a problem concerning patron's card"38 votes -
Adding bib- and item-level information like "MMS ID" and "Barcode" to a patron's "Requests"
When using "Fulfillment -> Manage Patron Services" to view a user's account, the "Requests" tab shows a patron's current requests, but these lack identifying and linked information beyond the title. Being able to view and click on a link to the MMS ID of the record that the request is for would be helpful since a library may have multiple records with the same title; in addition, item-level information like possible Barcodes for items that would fulfill the request would be helpful in visually confirming that a particular item in hand matches a patron’s request.

Include Fulfillment Notes when Shipping items in Resource Sharing
It would be nice if pop-up fulfillment notes on an item record were attached to a resource sharing request when an item is shipped, much like the barcode currently does. So if a damaged book has a note saying "Underlining noted," that note would attach to the request record so that the borrowing institution could see it. This would make it easier for the people processing on either end to know whether an item shipped with damage, or a set shipped with a certain amount of items, etc.
135 votesHi all,
thank you for supporting this idea.
I'm happy to inform you that starting from the August 2025 Alma Release, When the lender ships an item with a fulfillment note, the note is propagated to the borrower's side and assigned as a fulfillment note to the borrower's temporary item.
This enables resource sharing lenders to communicate important fulfillment related information about shipped items so that borrowers can take that into account when loaning to the patrons.

ALL Lending and Borrowing Letters should include external request id in Email Subject

Configuring Letter Labels
You configure the labels associated with specific letters on letter code tables.
Two kinds of data are substituted into, and configured by, the letter XSL (see Customizing Letter XSL Style Sheets) before the letter is sent (to the patron, or the printer, or wherever): labels and XML data. Alma generates dynamic XML data (see Viewing a Letter’s Source XML). Labels are strings of text that you create and translate. Some…11 votesHello All,

last active date
User profile - Last active date
We would like to have a field in the user profile that shows patron’s last active date, i.e. loan, request or return. This field will be useful when deciding which user profiles to purge.
308 votesYou can now view the last activity date for specific activities in the Last Patron Activity Date field of the User Details Page. The field is display only and will be available for analytics in an upcoming release. Due to privacy concerns, data will only be collected from activation of this new feature onward. If the option is disabled, all data collected in this field will be deleted for all users.

Make Faceting in "Manage Purchase Requests" sticky
It would be very helpful if the faceting that can be done in Manage Purchase Requests can be made "sticky" for each user account; some who use that area/workflow are orderers, some managers, and some selectors. All may have different areas they only want to see (e.g. request type, location, or those with queries, etc.), and it would be nice if the faceting we do can be made sticky, so we don't see unwanted entries.
