1. Add additional error code to Renew loan API when an item has been renewed but the due date hasn't changed

   The Users / Renew Loan API (https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/alma/apis/users/POST/gwPcGly021r0XQMGAttqcPPFoLNxBoEZNUiGwQUr+MuAI+35dTBcVUmYayAq/vUq/0aa8d36f-53d6-48ff-8996-485b90b103e4) currently only returns two errors - "Loan ID XXX does not exist." or "Cannot renew loan: Loan ID XXX." This API should return an additional status of "renewed, but due date didn't change" when that applies to the item in question. This would allow our locally developed catalog, which uses the Alma APIs for requesting items, to provide more complete information on why certain requests fail.

2. Auto-assigning barcodes to a set of physical records in Alma

   Currently there is no way to auto-assign barcodes to a set of physical items in Alma in order to retrieve in-house usage statistics for non-circulating material. We were informed this is possible for new items at the Acquisitions stage but not currently possible for existing material in Alma. We are requesting a new job to be run in Alma or via an import profile to auto-generate barcodes to a set off physical items in Alma for in house statistical purposes.

3. Consider only the opening days and hours when calculating the transit time

   The Transit Time Rule for Physical Item Requests calculates the transit time in calendar days.
   As a result, days and times when the library is closed are also indicated as estimated delivery times for the requested media.
   These times are also displayed in Primo and thus give users incorrect information.
   Would it be possible to consider only the opening days and hours of the libraries when calculating the transit time?

   We want to enable a user with Physical Inventory Operator role to run the job of “Change Physical Items”. According to Alma doc, following roles can run the job:
   * Repository Manager,
   * Repository Administrator,
   * Physical Inventory Operator
   However, despite Repository Manager and Repository Administrator can run the job, Physical Inventory Operator does not have the option run any job. Besides, we only want the user to run the job of “Change Physical Items” but no others.
   Request:
   * Fix the incorrect right settings on Physical Inventory Operator. Let them have the right to run the job of “Change Physical Items”.
   * Add the feature to allow a user to have only one specific privilege, such as running the job of “Change Physical Items” but no other jobs.

   Background:

   Title: Allow Custom Scheduling Options for the Fines Transfer (Bursar Integration) Job

   We would like the ability to define custom schedules for the Alma Fines Transfer (Bursar Integration) job, rather than being limited to the predefined scheduling options currently available.

   At present, this integration profile does not support the flexible Edit Scheduling functionality that is available for many other Alma jobs. Institutions can only select from a small set of fixed schedule options, which do not always align with local business processes or external finance system requirements.

   For example, our institution needs to run the Fines Transfer on the 21st of each month at 10:00 AM, but this schedule cannot be configured. As a result, staff must manually run the job each month, introducing unnecessary operational overhead and increasing the risk of delays or human error.

   Requested Enhancement

   Please enable one of the following:

   Allow the Fines Transfer (Bursar Integration) job to use the standard Edit Scheduling functionality available for other Alma jobs, enabling fully flexible scheduling.
   Alternatively, add support for additional configurable scheduling options (such as custom day-of-month and time combinations) for this profile type.

6. Create formatting for easily readable printing/PDF of Reading Lists and Pick from shelf lists

   Our reserves team would greatly benefit from having a printable or downloadable PDF option of a full reading list. Currently, you can export the list to an excel sheet, but this is not easily readable or convenient for printing/otherwise storing data from past semester's requests. Additionally, it would be excellent if a similar option were available in Pick from Shelf. To pull items now, we need a printed sheet for each book, which is wasteful and redundant. If there were a single function to print the book info on a full list of needed items, it would save a lot of time for our patron services staff.

7. Create a scan in message when a call number is inadvertently changed using change item information

   Add a Scan in message when an items call number has been changed through Scan in items> Change item information, when the call number field has been left blank.

   This could be an optional message enabled through "Scan In Messages Configuration" where you could select either none, pop up message or feedback message.

8. Make Order Status field available in the Interested In Letter XSL

   We would like additional Purchase Order fields added to the XSL available for the ‘Interested In Letter’ please, specifically the Order Status field. This will enable us to use conditional statements in the letter template so that certain blocks of text can be included or hidden depending on a given field. We take that approach already with other Alma letters. For example, in the ‘On Hold Shelf Letter’ template, we use <xsl:if> statements to draw on the Pickup Location available in the XSL and display different guidance to recipients depending on the location from which they are collecting a request.

   The ‘Interested In Letter’ is triggered by any change of Order Status. Currently, not being able to change the contents of the letter in relation to status means that the wording has to be so generic that it isn’t helpful to our Interested Users.

   If the Order Status field were available as part of the ‘Interested In Letter’ XSL, we could include <xsl:if> elements in the ‘Interested In Letter template to send different text out to Interested Users depending on the Order Status. This would make the email more relevant for each person who receives it.

9. Allow the libraries that appear in the preferred pickup institution dropdown for AFN resource sahring requests to be customizable

   When you're submitting a hold request in an AFN, the libraries that appear in the preferred pickup institution are based on your Institutions Relations table, so it's possible to remove certain libraries in the AFN from that dropdown. Unfortunately, that isn't possible for resource sharing requests. Every single library in the AFN appears in the preferred pickup institution dropdown regardless of how the Institutions Relations table is configured. We would like the preferred pickup institution dropdown for resource sharing requests to be customizable in the same manner as the preferred pickup institution dropdown for hold requests.

11. Enable separate authority control for LC children's subject headings (6xx second indicator 1).

    I have been told that the LC children's subject headings have been merged into the LC adult headings, and that therefore the only way to control those headings is to change the existing 2nd indicator 1 to 0. This is non-standard MARC coding per MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data, which specifies second indicator 1 for LC subject headings for children's literature. It is my understanding that other libraries requested this change, so the activation of a separate LC children's subject headings thesaurus should be an option for those libraries that wish to continue standard MARC coding practice.

12. Holds on behalf of patron

    We would like staff operators (perhaps with certain roles) to be able to place holds on behalf of patrons regardless of TOU settings.

    Additional information: we don’t allow our undergraduate user group to place holds on items that are currently available in our local collection, just on items that are checked out. In the testing I’ve been doing, configuring that TOU option also prevents staff from placing a hold on an available item on their behalf.

    To remedy this we’ve allowed undergraduate students to place holds in the TOU but hid the hold request service on the Discovery Display Logic. Because the service is hidden, undergraduates can’t place holds on any item.

    Is there a way for us to prevent undergraduate students from placing holds on available items but still allowing staff to place a hold on their behalf?

13. Add number of resource sharing requests to physical items subject area

    When analyzing an item's usage, we would like to account for both local loans and resource sharing lending requests. Both are available in the Titles subject area, but the physical items subject area allows us to apply additional limits, such as item location and receiving date, that we cannot use in a titles report.

14. Export to Excel directly from Job Report

    I'm requesting exporting to Excel from Job Report.

    Currently when I run a Shelf Report I have to do many steps to export to Excel.
    I have to click on the report then click on analysis to expand results.
    Once expanded I have to click on each result (1-5) and select "Preview items" from the actions button.
    After doing all that I to export the list to Excel I have to select export "Excel (all fields)".

    If there was an Option to export or download to excel directly from Job Report, similar to "Barcodes with no matched item", that would cut many steps.

16. Add permanent location code or name to fulfillment analytics

    Under Alma Analytics we want to request that Ex Libris add the field of permanent location code or name to the fulfillment area of analytics. We need to be able to grab the count of items in a library and how many of those items (held) in that library have circulated by any mean (resource sharing, digitization, loan, etc.). The current table allows us to pull what circulation desk they circulated from. That is not entirely accurate as we allow items to be delivered and circulated from any circulation desk on campus. This type of data is needed to assess the potential items to be moved to storage.

    Under Alma Analytics we want to request that Ex Libris add the field of permanent location code or name to the fulfillment area of analytics. Some libraries use the Borrowing Activity Letter for this purpose, but we find that this approach causes confusion for our library patrons. The solution to these problems is to send a letter when fines are actually assessed on user accounts. The letter would be triggered either by the renewal of items resulting in fines or by the return of items resulting in fines. The existing Return Receipt Letter contains all the necessary data elements for this purpose. We request a similar letter that can optionally be configured so that it will be triggered any time a fine is assessed on an account. This would occur when overdue items are scanned in via “Scan In Items” or “Return Items” as well as in the Returns tab of the patron account. It would also occur when items are renewed.

    Confusion: The Borrowing Activity Letter is received too far away in time (in our case, once per month) from the assessed fine. Oftentimes, patrons are confused by the fact that they are being notified of fines because time has passed since the fines were actually assessed. It would be better to send this portion of the letter as fines are actually assessed. Further, the statement of fines on the Borrowing Activity Letter is misleading. This statement tells the patron that a fine is currently accruing (meaning that it could be different tomorrow!). We need a statement that informs the patron once a fine has been assessed (and is therefore a stable reckoning of their account). Ex: On Tuesday, student receives notification that they have an overdue item with $7.00 in fines currently accruing. When the student brings back the item on Wednesday, they will have accrued $7.50 in fines. Wednesday evening, the $7.50 assessed fine will be exported to Bursar. (This is the information that the student needs to receive.) On Thursday, the student's Primo account will say that they have $0.00 in "Active" fines.

19. Allow same-day booking with "days" booking resolution.

    We are testing the use of "days" booking resolution, as opposed to minutes. We notice that when patrons try to place a same-day request, they get the error: "Date must be in the future." This probably makes sense for some institutions, especially without a "lead-time" setting to provide buffer time. However, we have a collection of AV equipment that students can book same-day.

    This already works fine when staff make a same-day booking request in Alma using "day" resolution; the error only occurs when patrons try to do the same in Primo. I'm not sure if the necessary change would be an Alma or Primo development (maybe this should be a Primo ticket). Just the same, since Alma allows this already I'm hoping that making this consistent would be a relatively simple change.

    In the April 2024 release, same-day booking is allowed.

20. A more precise reloan limit embargo

    We wish to apply the reloan limit to avoid 24h items same user reloan, but actually the rule block loans on same title and same material type, wich has this side effect: a user return a item with loan policy 1 month (with no reloan limit rule applied) and he cannot reloan because the item is requested by another user, so he wants to loan the other item with a loan policy of 24h (with reloan limit rule applied) available but the loan is blocked anyway: we don't want this, so it is possibile to refine the same title/same material check adding a same policy/location and same library filter?
