Free text box in request forms
In the same way that there is a generic tick box built into all of the request forms, it would be useful to have a generic input box where we can request additional information about the request without having to contact them afterwards (such as purpose of loan).

Closed Library Management TOU apply to Resource Sharing Request
Currently, the RS Lending Request item due date does not take into consideration of the library closed days as there is no "Closed Library Due Date Management" option in the Lending Resource Sharing Rule TOU. As a result, the due date may fall on a library closed date where clients are unable to return the item. I have received confirmation from ExLibris (SF354784) that this will need to be an enhancement request rather than a bug fix.
472 votesHey all, with the Alma May 2025 Feature Release, It is now possible to configure system behavior for managing a lending request's due date if the calculated date falls on a closed date. This enables the library to ensure that the lending requests' due date is not calculated to fall on dates when the library is closed.

Create request from the patron's record
There is a somewhat common workflow that a patron comes to the desk to loan an item or perform some other activity at the desk. then the patron will ask the librarian to also create a request for him.
In order to do this currently the operator must leave the patron record and find the title and then re-insert the patron information.
A much more intuitive and efficient workflow would be to have a Create Request action in the request tab and when entering the screen the user would have to search for inventory and requester would be pre-populated.15 votes -
Open / Closed Stacks Request Possibilities Priority
Currently, when a library owns a title in several copies, and that some of these copies are dispatched between physical locations attached to both closed and open stacks fulfillment unit, all copies behave like open stacks.
In other terms: if we have two items, one in open-stacks and one in closed-stacks, title-level requesting is blocked as long as the open-stacks item is available. Hence, open stacks configuration takes precedence over the closed one.

Ability to convert from digital/electronic to physical request
we have encountered issues when a citation for a digital/electronic request for an article/chapter is either beyond what is permitted within copyright policy or is insufficient to determine what is needed
rather than cancel the request and have it hit the next institution on a rota, we prefer to be able to to convert the request to physical and route the entire item to the borrowing institution, much like the functionality available in ILLiad

Improvements to request form when article is not available electronic or in print
If an end-user has found an article in Primo, but the library does not have access electronically and the library has the print journal, but not the correct item/issue the end user gets a very slim request form and the request in Alma does not have enough information to fulfill the request.
If the library does not have the print "mother"-item then the user would get the resourche sharing request form. This form is much more user friendly than the other forms.

Resource Sharing - Status of Renewed Lending Request not clear
After Renewing a Lending request the status automatically updates to "Received by Partner" - it would be more helpful if the status updated to 'Renewal Accepted".

It is now possible to set the lending_requests_renewed_status (Fulfillment > Other Settings) parameter so that a renewed lending request is set to a status of Renewal Accepted.

A borrowing library should be notified when a lending request is put on a waiting list
Scenario:
A library receives a resource sharing request (lending request), and the borrowing library asks to be put on waiting list if the wanted item is on loan. When the request is put on waiting list, the borrowing library should be automatically notified. This could for intance be by change of status on the Borrowing request to "In queue".277 votesWhen an internal 'ship digitally/physically' request is placed for a lending request (automatically OR manually), a 'Will Supply' message is automatically sent (and status changed accordingly) to reflect that.

"Manage purchase request" available in Analytics reports
Alma allows the export to Excel of the data found in the "Manage purchase request" option. The export is usually a slow process, which will surely slow down as the purchase requests stored in Alma increase.
We would like all this information to be available in Analytics so that we can manage it in a simpler way.101 votesThe new Purchase Requests subject area was added to Alma Analytics aspart of Alma September release. Using the fields of this subject area you can create reports concerning purchase requests and answer the following business questions:
How many purchase requests were made in a time range?
How many purchase requests were assigned to a user?

Add number of requested pages of a Digitization Request to Analytics
In Alma a digitization request shows a note field containing the Start page and End page as submitted via the request form.
This information doesn't appear in Analytics.

Add Workflow Note to Purchase Request Screen
At the University of Cumbria, we have configured Leganto questions, and we are using it in combination with a Citation Processing Rule to create a purchase request in Alma.
When we view the purchase requests in Alma, we see the "Requester note" as we have configured this to display. This works well but we'd also like to see the "Workflow note" as well on the purchase request screen as it contains information about the purchase (e.g. library, number of copies, etc.).

Modify the renew request reject note sent to partner for lending request
When a resource sharing lending request receives a renew request and is rejected, the following note is sent to the partner “Note: Cannot be renewed, maximum renew date DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS AEST was exceeded.” This note is confusing to the partner as the maximum renew date in the note is the date which the request was processed not the due date. In addition, the note implies the renew date of the loan has passed the allowed time, however the renew date has not been exceeded. The note could be improved by simplifying it to say “Cannot be renewed, maximum loan period…

Allow request-type webhooks to be triggered only under certain conditions
We would like the ability to configure request webhooks such that they are triggered only when certain conditions are met. Request webhooks for patron physical item requests include the user’s primary ID and the title they have requested. This type of circulation information should in most circumstances stay within the library and not be shared with third parties. But it may be necessary to enable a third-party integration in order to provide needed services, such as a smart locker delivery service. Display assignee on resource sharing request search results
It would be helpful if the resource sharing request would display in the brief format the name of the staff that the request is currently assigned to. Currently, you have to go into the "History" tab of the request to find this information.
In a different area, "Reading lists", this information is readily available, and it would facilitate the workflow in resource sharing handling, too.

Display of the RS Request Number in the patron's requests tab in Alma and Primo is missing
We have problems with our communication to our patrons when resource sharing borrowing requests are affected.
In the requests tab in the patron's account in Alma there is no possibility to display directly the request number (External ID) which is outstanding in the SNLP workflow. The staff at the circulation desk has to click 3 times (place in queue, barcode, resource sharing request) to see the related number to identify the correct borrowing request. Pop-up message when scanning in an item with a request note
We refer to the Alma March release notes: Pop-up Messages in the Scan In Interface. Various pop-up messages can be configured in Alma configuration – Fulfillment – Physical fulfillment - Scan In Messages Configuration. It would also be very useful to be able to configure a pop-up when the borrower has filled in the comment field on a request in Primo/Oria, e.g. that they want the book sent to another library. Show a confirmation/warning about completing a lending request when using scan in items
It would be a good enhancement to get a warning or a confirmation that a request is about to be set to completed, when we scan in an item that is currently in a resource sharing process. Because we use RFID, we have had multiple occurences of scanning in a document that already has the status Shipped Physically again by mistake, only to have the lending request irreversibly set to Request Completed, without the item ever being received by the Borrowing library. This means we have to contact the owning library and ask them to resubmit the request.
