  1. Allow to add a fund to PO Lines for donated or free items

    We must add a fund to each order line for accounting reasons, even if the items are free of charge.

    We use a workaround similar to the workflow described in the following article.

  2. Creating an invoice without PO number as invoice number

    Now when I create a new invoice from PO, then at the tab Summary there is automatically filled a PO number as an invoice number. We would appriciate some setting which would cause that this field wouldn't be filled out automatically and would stay empty. Our librarians are using other invoice numbers and current setting of Alma is leading to errors because sometime the librarian forgets to change the invoice number. We would appriciate if Alma wouldn't filled out the invoice number automatically with PO number. We would like only a warning by saving the invoice that the invoice number…

  3. Display personal metadata editor history of opened/edited records

    Currently in Alma's All Titles search you can see a list of records you have previous looked at, but it would be helpful in the metadata editor if you had a list of records that you have opened recently. Even a list of 5-10 would helpful.

  4. Generate barcodes in batch

    Alma can be configured to generate a unique identfier in the barcode field of the item record one record at a time. Once the configuration is set, the unique identifier can be created by clicking the Generate button or simply by clicking Save.

    It would be very helpful for Alma be able to generate sequential unique identifiers for each item in a set by running a job.     Please add an alert to the Real-Time Notifications list, targeted to users with privileges for running import profiles, when an import job is paused with the status "Manual Handling Required."

  6. Enable local extensions on MARC 79X and 89X

    OCLC Bibliographic Formats and Standards sets out tags 79X (790-799) and 89X (896-899) as valid for local uses. These ranges should be available for network zone members to use as well. Adopting these ranges will allow catalogers to directly adapt records from WorldCat into a network and add local extensions without having to remap from the OCLC-supported field to a field in Alma, such as a 9XX.

  7. Make Approved Purchase Requests Editable

    It would be very helpful if it was possible to edit Purchase Requests which have been approved. Our purchase requests default to 'electronic' material type, but if the electronic version of the requested item is unavailable and we need to order print copies instead, and the staff dealing with the request forget to change the material type before clicking on 'Approve and order', this means an order is created with the wrong material type and there is no way to fix this retrospectively.   8. Adding the borrower code stats to the patron detailstable in the fullfiment subject area

    The fullfiment subject area contains several tables related to the readers who borrowed the document including the "patron details" and "borrower details" tables. According to the documentation the data stored in the patron detail table are the characteristics of the reader at the time of the transaction. The "borrower details" table stores the characteristics of the reader at the time of the request.
    It would be useful if the patron statistical codes were stored in the "patron details" table so that they can be historized.

  9. Choose users affiliated to a particular library - Bulk Change Due Date

    Our situation is that we have 2 libraries (eg. Library A - Library B) in 2 different cities. Students affiliated to a particular library can borrow items (books, DVD, etc.) owned by the other library.

    The problem is:

    Eg. Due to COVID, library A closed and library B remain open, so students affiliated to library A can't physically return their books. I would like to bulk change due date for all loans of library A students.

  12. Allow booking requests only on the quarter hour and half hour

    If your booking resolution policies are set to "Minute", users can select any minute in the hour as a start and end time. We would like a configuration option that allows us to limit booking request start and end times to just the quarter hour and half hour.

  13. Printouts Queue: Include more info in printing queue display

    Idea: Include bibliographic or request information in the display of the Printing queue. (E.g. An additional column that displays Title and/or Internal/External identifier).

    Rationale: There may be multiple desks/people scanning in requests at different times; it would be helpful to be able to see which item a letter was referring to at a glance. This information is available from the "preview" option, BUT, it takes a lot of time and clicks to open each to see if it should be printed or reprinted.

  14. add ability to edit existing display logic rules

    Currently once a display logic rule is written, it can't be edited, which means one needs to write second one, or delete the first and write a new one. This is tedious and a waste of time, and the ability to edit rules would be a big improvement!

  15. Overdue notifications

    If a user has an overdue notification fee the title of the book for which they got the fee is not mentioned in the Titles colum of the Fines tab on the user record. If it was it would help us explain the fine to a user looking for an explanation at the counter. Can this be fixed?

    When an Ebook Central ebook in the CZ is both owned and available in a subscribed subscription collection, the unlimited users license appears in the portfolio tab Acquisitions/Public Access model, and the number of users for the owned copy appears in "Public access model for "Owned" purchase model."   19. Enhancing Security in Alma: Restricting Return without scanning the item, Claim Return, Found Functions to High-Level Roles

    The new Alma Manage Patron Services, implemented in February 2025, allows any role to "Return" an item without scanning it. This function should be restricted to high-level roles only. Similarly, the "Found" and "Claimed Return" functions should also be limited to high-level roles.

    Currently, WS students can access these functions with the Circulation Operator – Limited role. While we are in the process of removing the Actions Customizations from the Settings wheel, our preferred solution is to restrict access to these functions to higher-level roles.

  20. Resource Sharing - Add Create Set Functionality from Rapido to New Resource Sharing UI

    Rapido includes a create set feature described here: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Media_Repository/Rapido_Product_Documentation/Workflows/01_Rapido_Sets#Creating_Sets. With the new Resource Sharing UI, it would be great if this functionality could be made available to Alma users who do not have Rapido.
