  1. Option to change default management tag publishing for bibs

When creating or importing new bib records from an external source (especially OCLC), the bib's default management tag in the MDE is set to "Publish Bib" for publishing under "Export to WorldCat". However, "Publishing Holdings Only" is useful for the purposes of publishing our library's Local Holdings Records (LHRs), and other libraries may not want to publish bibs or holdings by default at all. The option to choose between one of these three publishing defaults would benefit libraries who would otherwise need to either regularly update batches of records or manually edit each one as they're created.

  2. Add Additional Date Options to User Subject Area

Currently, you can only run user reports with a date range. In some cases it's helpful to find yearly totals for different categories of users for reports. I would like to have year, month, and fiscal year options added to the User Subject area.

  3. Filtering a report based on a user set

Right now if you want to filter a report on a user set...

    1. Run a search in Alma and save to a set
    2. Export the list, using Excel.
    3. Manipulate the needed field (e.g. of barcodes), to be stored in one row, with semicolon separating them (e.g. 365704-340;365704-350).
    4. Copy this list as a row to be used as a filter in Analytics

I would like Alma smart enough, when I click on filter to simply supply the user set I created.

  6. Prevent placing different request types on the same item

Currently in Alma there is no cross check and no way to prevent a patron from placing both a Physical Item Request and the Digitization Request on a single item. The Ex Libris expectation is that requests will be reconciled through the request queues. However this adds additional time to the request process as it requires contacting the requester to confirm which type of request they need. I encountered the lack of a preventive configuration created a concrete clash as it came to our attention when a patron placed both types of requests on an item. This impacted 3 locations…

  7. Using Oracle Analytics Publisher to customize the notification letters

Oracle Analytics Publisher is the reporting solution to author, manage, and deliver all your reports and documents easier and faster than traditional reporting tools. Use your web browser or familiar desktop tools to create everything from pixel-perfect customer-facing documents to interactive management reports against practically any data source. We need to connect the desktop client to the Ama Analytics server to customize the look and feel of notification letters to our students and staff.

  9. Extend or allow one to be able to extend the time it takes to time-out when on the Manage Patron Services screen.

Please extend or allow one to customise their own time-out settings for the Manage Patron Services screen.

Gets on my nerves when I'm in the middle of composing an email to a Patron about their loans and I have to keep bringing up their account because it goes back to the search screen.

I need more time if I'm dealing with: fines, loan history, and making notes on an account, whilst trying to communicate what I'm doing.

  10. Add portolios from CZ Updates Task List to associated collection in bulk

The Community Zone Updates Task List displays portfolios that were added to a non auto-active collection. But you can only handle these portfolios one by one. It would be helpful to select the desired portfolios and to add them in bulk to the associated collection.
The planned solution from ExLibris to manage collections as auto-active collections is not wanted because not all portfolios that are automatically activated are interesting to the library (e. g. when the library has a specific book stock and does not provide its readers with all scientific disciplines).

  11. Customize the Register/Update User (Quick User Management) screen/window

Watching a Primo demo complete with a discussion on how the view was customized, made me wonder if certain areas in Fulfillment could be customized. Is it possible to customized/configure the Register/Update User (Quick User Management) screen/window depending upon the role of the user? For instance a Circulation Assistant or Student Assistant would see only a limited number of fields (of course all the mandatory ones) whereas an Admin would see all the fields?

  13. Automatically disable a loan rule

During the holidays, we set up exceptional loan rules for a specific period (e.g. summer holidays).

But these rules must be deactivated manually, at a given date, in order to return to the normal rules used during the academic period.

It would be very interesting if these rules could be deactivated automatically by Alma, by entering, for example, an expiry date.

  14. Make Provider Account ID info available to users as an Analytics option

Need Provider Account ID in order to use the Resources report called 'My Electronic Resources by Provider' to get electronic resources counts on all providers not just the ProQuest default.

  15. Internal data and all non-fulfillment data deleted from external account when accounts are loaded from external system through API

Updating users from an external source (such as Banner) using the API means that any non-fulfillment information will be deleted such as Roles (the only role left is the Patron role), barcodes, alternate addresses, emails, phone numbers, fines/fees, blocks, attachments, proxy information.

Would it be possible to make sure that an account's update from Banner through the API only affects the fields supported by Banner without wiping off any other fields?

  16. User letters anonymization

It would be useful to be able to delete the letters attached to the user records with the Anonymization job.

In particular, we would like to keep the users records of expired users but delete their attachments, adding an option item to the anonymization job section in Fulfillment Jobs Configuration.

    Thanks and regards.

  17. Show book's edition information when doing a Physical Item search

This is a more efficient way to show essential information, rather than having it available only via All Item search

  18. Show editions of books when doing a search in either Physical Title search, or Physical Items search, not just All item search

This is a more practical and efficient way of showing book's info , as the edition is not restricted to All item search.

  20. Auto-expand the UI preferences in the User menu

Our staff often don't know about the 'UI preferences' personalization options to change the font size to better suit their needs, or to see the handy list of shortcuts directly within Alma (rather than having to go to the online help documentation). This is because it's hidden behind an unnecessary dropdown arrow.

When I show it to staff, they exclaim happily to know that they have such options, but this is often quickly followed by a comment of regret that they weren't aware about this already for years.

There's a significant amount of empty space available in the User menu…
