  1. Query to patron letter: add the publication date for Document delivery requests

    We’d like to display the publication date in the Query to patron letter also for DD requests. Now we can display the date in the letter only for ILL requests.

  2. Add alphabetic title search field to the external databases search fields in Alma

    when searching external databases in order to import a relevant record i notice there are many search fields by words but non of them is by alphabetic order. Especially missing a search field by alphabetic title.

  3. Reflect Community Zone changes in affected portfolios' history tabs

    Alma portfolios in the IZ show a modification date in their history when a change is made based on CZ data. However, the changes themselves are not documented in the portfolio's history tab -- just the fact that a change occurred on that date.

    Some changes are displayed to users in the CZ updates task list, so it's clear that Ex Libris has a way to communicate this at the Institution level.   4. Improve credit/refund Acquisitions workflow

    The credit/refund process is cumbersome. When I receive a credit memo, I have to go back and re-open all the POL or add another POL. I have had to process multi-page Credit Memos this way and it's incredibly frustrating. The vendor doesn't send Credit Memos via EOD, but even if they did, I don't think it would work since the POl aren't open. If I could just open an invoice workflow that doesn't care that the POL is closed, that would be great.

  5. Change order icon color in All Titles / Physical Titles result list based on order status

    If the status of all POLs on a title is Closed, change the green shopping cart icon color to grey when looking at the All Titles or Physical Titles result list.

    It is really helpful to see if there is an order for something when doing a title search. However, it creates a lot of extra clicks to see if an order is active order or not.

  6. Add bib metadata to custom view for portfolios

    Right now, there's no way to see edition (subfield 250) or publication/copyright date (subfield 260/264) from a list of portfolios.

    These fields should be added to the customize view options for portfolio lists.

  7. Term of use On hold shelf policy request

    “Beside general requests (except books on loan), specific user group can make on hold shelf requests to specific item types in specific libraries for a limited number of items in a specific timeframe.’’


    1. please add the all on shelf request policy option include “Request for pick up different library/campus only, no requesting on available holding, no requesting ” to the Term of use “On Shelf Request Policy.”

    2. Hopefully the on hold shelf requests can be counted separately from general requests.

  8. Searchable archive of old/completed requests outside active request screen

    Too much clutter in active screen. Would be great if this screen only showed new /pending created requests. The facets to the left would then be more meaningful and useful as filters to find specific requests - those sent to partner, those that overdue etc instead of requests with these statuses being presented within the active request mix

  9. Add the option to display the Description as a Column in Alma User Accounts, in Loans and Returns

    In Loans and Returns of a User Account, the Description is only available by hovering over the title, with the hover display including the Description and Call Number, despite that Call Number also has its own column.
    We did not even realise the Description was available by hovering until submitting a case, as it is not documented.

  10. Back button in new MD Editor

    Please add a Back button to the new MD Editor. This is necessary in the Relink item records to another bib record process. When we create a new holdings record in the middle of the relink process, the Back button allows us to go back to the relink process, and finish up.   11. Hide Leganto-specific features from Course Reserves when institution has not implemented Leganto

    There is a very large number of links, buttons, and options in the Course Reserves area of Alma that only function if Leganto has been implemented. This severely complicates rollout of course reserves and is an ongoing annoyance. Perhaps Leganto-specific user roles could be added, and if a user does not have those roles, then the features would not appear.

    We appreciate the emails about service interruptions with Analytics however these notices can get lost in deluge of email. It would be optimal to have quick visual besides the little green informational "i" on whether Alma and Primo Analytics are nominal on https://status.exlibrisgroup.com/

  13. Identifying info of returning patron visible when scanning in items

    When items are returned/scanned in I often want to know who the borrower was for various reasons (a personal book was accidentally included and I want to contact borrower, a book was damaged and I want to contact borrower etc).

    There is currently no option to add any columns related to borrower information. So if I want to find out who just returned an item I have to: row action > edit item > history > fulfillment activities

  14. Item Sequences Configuration: "Set Next Sequence Value"

    It is currently not possible to change the sequence value to a lower one --> error message: "The new sequence value must be greater than the current value."
    In order to achieve the desired result, you then have to delete the counter and set it up again.

  15. Item Sequences Configuration: import option

    In the area of the "Patron/User Groups" there is already an import option (Excel file) for the configuration table.
    Please provide the same feature for the Item Sequences configuration table.
    Since our counters contain the year and always have to start counting with 1, we have to change this table every year. Due to our sublibraries we have more than 50 active counters.

  16. Enable digital rights statements to be assigned independently of access rights

    We really like the new options for digital rights statements (January 2021 release) so that we can have creative commons licences displayed/linked in the Alma viewer.

    However, in complex access scenarios having copyright statements in a 1:1 relationship with access rights will make this difficult to manage configuration, and for Alma users to filter through all the possible alternatives (likely with similar names) to choose the right one for the representation.

    Access rights are technical definitions of the circumstances under which a user will be given access to a representation (parameters like concurrent users, IP range, no restriction, embargo period,…

  18. Electronic Coverage Dates should be in a date format and be available in Analytics as such

    Currently, electronic coverage dates are considered as strings and not as Dates. We request to treat them like dates and add them to Analytics, in order to base reports on these dates.

  19. Send borrowers an email when they place a request

    It would be good if, when someone places a request on Primo, they could be sent an email receipt to confirm what they have requested. (This is an idea for both Alma and Primo, as I assume the email would be sent from Alma).

    Not only would it be useful for users to have confirmation (a lot of webforms will send users a copy of their completed form, so people half-expect one from Primo/Alma), but it would allow libraries to include important messaging.

  20. Work Orders: package of required enhancements

    Work orders are useful but often cumbersome and don't work as required. A package of enhancements/fixes would make them much more useful and useable:

    • Adding notes when creating work orders in bulk. This would enable having fewer work order types as explanatory notes could be used instead.
    • Makes notes more (immediately) visible when scanning in (pop up message?). Again would enable fewer work order types as items could be easily catergorised according to explanatory note upon receipt at managing department.
