  1. Add the ability to manually sort physical item records within a location

The current physical item sorting options mean that in many cases records cannot be sorted into the correct order. Adding to the existing automated sorting options will help in some cases but not in others.

The only way to be certain that item records can be correctly sorted is to add the ability to manually sort physical items within a particular location (i.e. that are linked to a particular holdings record).

Use cases abound. For instance, this is the only way that volumes designated as new ser. v. (or new ser no.) can be sorted to appear after volumes designated…

  2. Make the SAVE button more prominent on the Invoice Screen

I have had a suggestion from my staff to make the SAVE button on the invoice screen more prominent. We have several workflows where one person puts an invoice in review and then it is checked by a second person before moving to In Approval. We have discovered that the incidences of someone hitting SAVE & CONTINUE rather than SAVE in the new Alma interface has increased. When we looked at the old interface versus the new, we discovered that that SAVE is now white and much fainter. At least having it the same color or size I think would…

  3. Combining multiple itemized sets

We'd really like the ability to flag multiple sets to be combined to create a single combined set. Several times we've wanted to do this to facilitate data analysis (e.g. on sets created logging weekly data loads), but it's far too time-consuming to combine them two at a time!

  4. Initiate consortium fulfillment requests for items in another institution from Alma

In our consortium, we would like to be able to place requests for items in other institutions on behalf of our patrons in Alma.

Scenario: a patron (dean, faculty member, etc) calls the circulation desk asking if an item is owned by the library. Circ operator searches Alma and finds the item in a consortium library. Circ operator SHOULD be able to request item in Alma from the patron's record. Right now, circ operator has to tell the patron to search Primo and request on his or her own.

  5. Display logic rules should work on Primo users NOT logged in

Display logic rules currently only work if a user logs in Primo. Also, the rules only work to hide a service (not show a service). Also, Primo New UI does not allow forcing users to log in.

So, we have a scenario where we want CCC Get It Now articles to display only for our Faculty user group. However, the article links are displaying to everyone (guest) - until the user logs in and then the links are hidden for everyone except our faculty. Because everyone starts out in Primo as guest, this defeats the purpose of the rule.

    Another…

  6. Electronic collections - let notes tab show active for functional notes

When viewing electronic collection/service/portfolio records, the note tab does not show active - a blue triangle in new UX - when content has been added to the functional notes - authentication and/or public. I understand that currently the content indicator "turns on" when content is added via the "Add Note" feature but it would help workflow if staff did not have to click the notes field to discover if authentication or public notes had been added to either collection, service or portfolio editor. Let the notes tab show active whether the notes are functional or internal.

  7. Add "Edit" button to item records from viewing, like holdings and bib records have.

When viewing bib and holding records, there is a link to edit mode that takes you into the metadata editor. If you are viewing an item record and realize that you would like to change it, you have to cancel, go back to the list of items, and then select edit from the action menu.

It would be handy to have an edit button on item record when viewing it, even though that isn't in the metadata editor.
It would be handy to have this feature in MANY other fields--there are lots of times when I click on something in…

  8. Enable 'recall' option on individual work orders

At present work order types can be set to recall items or not.

It would be useful to have this as an option for individual work orders (much as 'do not pick from shelf' is an option).

This would make work orders more versatile and save having two work order types ('recall' and 'no recall') for essentially the same process.

  9. Metadata editor Browse Shelf List forward/back buttons should be bigger or easier to distinguish.

The browse shelf list / call number browse feature is very difficult to use for actual browsing because the forward and next buttons are minuscule. They are not actually buttons, just the less than or greater than sign without borders. I frequently hit the wrong part and end up going back when I wanted to go forward. It's a really small target that calls for high-precision mousing.

    Requested improvements:
    1) Allow keyboard shortcuts for navigating to previous and next sections of the browse list.
    2) Create borders/margins around those buttons.
    3) Add mouse-over text showing previous/next so that if you…

  10. Add active link function to all fields where a URI in subfield u is valid

Subfield u for uniform resource identifiers has been defined as a valid subfield in many bibliographic fields to provide automated access to electronic resources.
    As noted in the OCLC bibformats: "Subfield ǂu defined as the URI is valid in the following fields: 031, 370, 381, 505, 506, 510, 514, 520, 530, 538, 540, 542, 545, 552, 555, 561, 563, 852, 856, 880, 883, 884, and 956. Additionally, subfield ǂu can be used in fields 901-907 and 945-949, either in accord with its control subfield definition or as a locally-defined subfield" (http://www.oclc.org/bibformats/en/controlsubfields.html#subfieldu).
Currently, only URIs in 856 subfield u…

  12. Add "item policy" and "temporary location" automatically to predicted issues

Acquisition librarians want to add automatically the "item policy" and "temporary location" to predicted issues to speed up their work and limit the number of clicks. At this moment the added value of prediction pattern functionality is being restricted by the lack of functionality (parameter setting) …
Use case: It’s not possible to add the item policy/temporary location as a parameter to continuous pol’s. If issues are created via prediction patterns the item policy/temporary location should be indicated automatically based upon parameter settings on pol level. This would save a lot of time and additional clicks when receiving the issues.…

When creating a a POL, it will be possible to also define a default item policy and temporary location. This will be used when items are created (by a prediction pattern or manually) on POL or at receive time

  13. create brief record

In Resource Management, there are options for creating a physical item using a template that list the MARC fields as their type, not like the field numbers in Metadata Editor. Such as, Title is listed with a field to enter this information, and Author and so on for the Resource Information. As a cataloger, I know the MARC field numbers and can easily catalog in Metadata Editor, but this is not the case for the acquisition coworkers I collaborate with to order new materials.

In the Add Physical Item function, you can create a brief record with only the title,…

  14. Add members to set from results screen

We would like an easier way of adding individual titles to itemized sets. It would be nice if, on the results screen after performing a search, you could click the ellipses menu for more options and see "Add to set" there, which would then direct you to select a set to which you'd like to add that record.

  15. Display patron account expiration date on manage patron services screen

It would be helpful to display the patron's expiration date on the manage patron services screen so that an operator does not need to navigate to the patron record and the "general information" tab just to see the patron's expiration date.

  16. Limiting the list of Lending and Borrowing requests to the current Owning library

When we go to the list of Lending requests or Borrowing requests (either via the Tasks menu or directly under Fulfillment),
we get requests for both our libraries/campuses. This is the case, even if we have already chosen one of the libraries as our «current location».
When we choose one particular library as the current location it would be very helpful to get a list of request only for this library.
As it is now, we need to scroll down at the bottom of the left-side menu to choose the current Owning library.
Alternatively, if the above solution is not…

  17. "Request" link when you have ordered a physical book

When you have ordered a physical book (one time order) it would be very helpful to get a Request link available on the Purchase order lines in Review page.

Then you could place a request more quickly. You don't have to search for the book again.

  18. Obligate the user to choose a pick up location in the resource sharing form

On Renouvaud the users could fill in a form to request an article or a book for the Inter Library Loan.

But, they don't read all the form and much of them don't choose a pick up location.

The problem is that if they don't choose one, a "default pick up location" is selected.

We would like that the drop down menu begin not with a pick up location but a little sentence which ask the user to choose a location (see attachments).

    Thanks !

  19. Differentiate Returns screen from Patron look-up screen

Our student workers at circulation keep on trying to scan student IDs in the returns box or item barcodes in the Patron services box.
I would like to make the highlight around the Returns box anyway a different, bright, distinguishable color. It would make it easy for a student to glance at the screen and think, "bright yellow, I'm on the returns window." See attachment for a preview of this option.
(I realize our students should just pay more attention to what they are doing, but they don't.)

  20. Automatic dismissal of corrected authorities from the Authority Control Task List.

Automatic dismissal of corrected authorities from the Authority Control Task List.
Improve the Authority Control Task List linking functionality so that when an authority is upgraded/corrected in the metadata editor, it is automatically dismissed from the Task List. Items are added to the Task List before an institution has had a chance to upgrade the catalogue record. Many of these authorities will routinely be upgraded at the cataloguing stage. The need to then manually remove substandard authorities from the Task List which no longer exist in the bibliographic records adds a huge burden of extra work, especially for large institutions.…
