Add "item policy" and "temporary location" automatically to predicted issues
Acquisition librarians want to add automatically the "item policy" and "temporary location" to predicted issues to speed up their work and limit the number of clicks. At this moment the added value of prediction pattern functionality is being restricted by the lack of functionality (parameter setting) …
Use case: It’s not possible to add the item policy/temporary location as a parameter to continuous pol’s. If issues are created via prediction patterns the item policy/temporary location should be indicated automatically based upon parameter settings on pol level. This would save a lot of time and additional clicks when receiving the issues.
In addition this should also be possible when items are created based upon templates via the “receive new items” button.
When creating a a POL, it will be possible to also define a default item policy and temporary location. This will be used when items are created (by a prediction pattern or manually) on POL or at receive time

@Dana - when is this enhancement supposed to be delivered?

I'm happy to see that this requested improvement was accepted. Also greatly anticipating implementation :)

Dear Madame or Sir,
could you please inform us, when this idea will get realized? Our library is also very interested in this feature. The item policy of the issues should automatically be filled in, when the item gets received (via receive buttion).
Thank you! -

Are there any news?
1.) Is there a timeline when this new feature will be implemented in Alma?
2) Will this feature be available for existing (continuous) PO lines, not only for newly created continuous PO lines)? -

1. when will this be implemented
2. is it something that can be applied to existing POLs, or only newly created ones? -

Within our institution we have multiple libraries with there own item policy management. a default would probably not work for us. We need more flexibility. Therefore we think at the poline (subscription level) to indicate this!

Definitely need to include item policy in generated predicted issues. However, I would prefer setting a default item policy while creating prediction patterns in the holding record, or having a configuration setting for predicted issue default item policy, instead of having the item policy setting in the POL.

Yes, especially should be possible to either have it generate along with Enum/Chron fields when a new issue is duplicated during serials receiving, OR should be able to set default values. Takes too many clicks to save, continue, get to the right tab, choose the right values, and resave. Thank you for considering -- dg.
