Add Release Displayed Records in List to Record Actions menu and a keystroke combination
In the metadata editor, the option to release all displayed records in the record list has only one button which is not accessible by a keystroke. This makes the action less accessible to different users, and is also challenging to document for library staff without including visuals.
This button, with tooltext "Release displayed records in list," should also appear in the Record Actions menu in the section with other release records options. There should be a renew option for items checked out to a patron if patron is present with items checked out
I think there should be a Renew option so that you do not have to scan an item's barcode search your location then search for the barcode. In Sierra there is a renew option where you just scan item barcode and renew it without having to search or go into patron's account.

Make all Address Types usable for Personal Delivery
Only addresses with an Address Type of 'Home' or 'Office' can be used for Personal Delivery. This is a problem for us because the addresses that come through into Alma for each user from our student information system integration are in Address Types ‘Home’ and ‘School’. We don’t use ‘Office’. We are unable to get the systems integration changed for local reasons. We would like to see all Address Types made usable for Personal Delivery, with options in the Request Terms of Use to enable us to show only the Address Types that we use and therefore that we want…

Improve job "Requests - Handle Expiration steps"
The job "Requests - Handle Expiration Jobs" updates requests and at present, the output of the job informs only on the number of outputs. The job can block on a request-ID which then must be manually handled.
In order to save time and better inform the lending libraries, it would be helpful to have at least an information on any Error-causing request, with it's request-ID. Add ILL cost/fee upon receive
Completion of scans via Resource Sharing - this now has to be done in 2 steps:
• First receive for the creation of a cost; then Upload File/Send file to patron
• Please note we also investigated the policies of creating a cost automatically based upon fulff unit rules and a dedicated TOU (with fee creation). However due to a lack of criteria and due to a complex range of agreements on adding fee’s we are not able to use this.Optimization is to avoid two steps:

we could focus on enhancing user experience with more intuitive navigation, better mobile optimization, and personalized tools. Feedback-driven updates and clearer communication channels would also go a long way in making the platform even more effective.

Enhancing Security in Alma: Restricting Return without scanning the item, Claim Return, Found Functions to High-Level Roles
The new Alma Manage Patron Services, implemented in February 2025, allows any role to "Return" an item without scanning it. This function should be restricted to high-level roles only. Similarly, the "Found" and "Claimed Return" functions should also be limited to high-level roles.
Currently, WS students can access these functions with the Circulation Operator – Limited role. While we are in the process of removing the Actions Customizations from the Settings wheel, our preferred solution is to restrict access to these functions to higher-level roles.

Output Location External Name in z39.50 OPAC format
Alma provides the ability to specify an External Name for a location and this is used in PrimoVE instead of the location Name. However, when item information is exposed via the z39.50 OPAC format the "shelvingLocation" contains the location Name and not the External Name. The External Name should apply in all cases where the location name is exposed outside of ALMA including z39.50.

Add clarifying language to the Delete Holdings records with no Physical Items job
Adjust the wording on the “Delete Holdings records with no Physical items” job to match wording from the “Withdrawn Physical items” job. Change “Delete bibliographic records” to “Delete bibliographic records that have no other holdings” AND "Suppress bibliographic records” to “Suppress bibliographic records that have no other holdings from publishing”. This would add needed clarity to what is happening when running the "Delete Holdings records with no Physical items" job.

API access to suspend realtionships among libraries
Currently, there is no API access to manage the suspension of relationships between libraries in Alma, which requires manual intervention to suspend them at the appropriate time when there is an interruption in the logistics shuttle between libraries. This process can be time-consuming and requires staff to handle it during off-hours, such as early mornings or late nights.

Make Display of Inventory Groups list sortable (alphabetical by one of the columns.)
Display of Inventory Groups list is not predictable or sortable
In the Electronic Service Editor > Group Settings tab, there’s no predictable, consistent order for the display of associated Inventory Groups, and there is no way to sort them.The list of groups in the Inventory ‘Available For’ Management Groups (Configuration Menu > Resources > General > Inventory Network Groups) is also in no order and is not sortable.

License Section Names - Customizing Capabilities and Upgraded Reordering
I'm bringing back an idea that was posted years ago because I really think it's important.
Many of us would REALLY like to have the ability to create our own Section Names. If it's possible for us to create our own license terms, then I don't see any reason why we shouldn't have the ability to personalize Section Names.
As the original idea stated, the existing section names don't always match well with our agreements and there are some clauses that don't fit under the current sections. The lack of ability to create our own license sections can really make…5 votes -
Change item to damaged in patron's account - not in item description
If we could change the status of the item to damaged on the patrons account (like you can to lost) then the fee would appear - it would save many steps.

Implement the Counter Registry API
Tasha from COUNTER asked (during ER&L 2024) if anyone had spoken with ExL about implementing the registry API. In the registry, there's SUSHI details, contact details, and notifications. Harvesting from COUNTER registry would reduce complications and would alert librarians to any problems.

Add ability to abort jobs when they are for information only, such as when exporting data or running overlap analysis
Currently it is more common than not for jobs in Alma to be missing an option to Abort them under Monitor Jobs > Running.
This is a highly frustrating situation where the only option is to open a Support case to request for the job to be aborted, and wait days for response.
In the meantime, staff work is completely halted for this while we wait for Support.It is understandable that the Abort option is not present in cases where there could be negative impact on records, such as initiating an job update to change the records.

Add extra filter operators to date fields in title search
Add the following filter operators to all titles search:
-Is within last (days)
-Is older than (days)
-Is within next (days)to filters in all titles search such as MMS creation date (title) and modification date (title).

Retain loosing accounts identifier in all IZ and NZ after a merge
After merging two accounts the primary identifier of the loser account can only be found in those IZs via the search in which it was also merged manually. In such cases, the message that the two accounts have been merged is added to the Notes of the winner account; including the primary identifier of the loser account.
We think this information should appear in the NZ as well as in all other IZs so that it can be tracked which accounts have been merged. This is important, for example, in cases where fines and fees in Alma have been closed,…25 votes
