  1. British Library Billing Account codes visible in Lending Resource Sharing

Display partner Billing Account codes in Lending side for UK Alma Institutions. This is vital information for reimbursements within the UK and reduces the need for paperwork. British Library Billing Accounting is the UK standard workflow, with a view to being ISO compliant.

  2. Moving item records to differenent holding records and merging holding records

Being able to merge holdings records that have been accidentally created. Either that, or moving item records to different holding records, even if the holding records are in the same location, but different call numbers.

  3. DIfferent cancellation letters for ILL requests and hold requests

We want to be able to notify users when cancelling an ILL request but, at the moment, as the cancellation letter is shared by Circulation and Resource Sharing and the majority of cancellations are for holds, the letter is sent from the Circulation email address and has a Customer Services signature.

This means that we can not notify a patron directly when we cancel an ILL request as they might want to reply and the email would go to the wrong department.

This means we have to follow a two-step process where we send a query to the patron informing…

  4. Fine&fees and blocks

Currently, a user who has exceeded the limit of cash in his active balance, is blocked. That's ok.
However, if a user has a lot of overdue loans (and fine&fees), and exceeded the limit of fines & fees but not in his active balance (loans are active), Alma won't block the user.
So, until user returns documents or renew there, he can check-out new books.

Is it possible to add an option in the Alma BO to block a user who has exceeded the limit of fine/fees all fine/fees included and not only those which are "closed" and added in…

  5. Model the Course/Reading List association as a many-to-many relationship

We need to be able to affiliate the same reading list with multiple course objects in Alma. Currently, reading lists can only be assigned to a single Alma Course object at a given time. At our university with a complex course timetable structure we need to be able to accommodate complex relationships between cross-listed and "meets with" courses. For these courses, we must accommodate a single course that is offered by multiple departments or at multiple course numbers (e.g., undergraduate and graduate versions of the same course "meet with" each other by sharing a lecture).

    For example, our Computer Sciences…

  6. Ability to Modify Purchase Request Role

  7. A purchase request with the status "Approved" can be rejected (NOT deleted) and that this information is updated in My Library

Our proposal is that a purchase request with the status "Approved" can be rejected (NOT deleted) and that this information is updated in My Library (we want the user can see that their purchase request was rejected). The problem when you try to do this is that Alma warns that requests with status "Approved" can not be rejected.

Ideally, when the POL associated with the purchase request is canceled, Alma should automatically reject this request and it would be displayed in Primo-My Library. (for example, the provider says the book is out of stock)

  8. Provide access to files FTPed to third-parties

We run a daily scheduled "Publishing to OCLC" job which sends OCLC our new and changed MARC records via FTP.

From time to time, OCLC email us to let us know that some files were not processed due to errors in the MARC (typically blanks in the leader). To fix these, we need to download the problematic files, correct them, and manually upload to OCLC again.

However we don't have access to these files in Alma. (OCLC deletes them from their server when their automated process picks them up so we can't get them from there either.)

    We managed to…

  9. Improving usability of the inventory section for citations

Currently, it’s impossible to tell how ‘Digital’ and ‘Other’ inventory may be configured in the Inventory section of a citation. The green indicator shows the inventory exists but not whether it has been used for the citation.

    Digital example:
You can’t see whether a digital representation has been selected via the ‘Manage Digital Representations’ option or whether a representation is Active or Inactive. The green indicator stays green even if the representation is Inactive or if it hasn’t been selected via Manage Digital Representations.

    Other example:
You can’t see whether the Link Resolver has been disabled via Edit > Citation…

  10. Use NZ records for full text links in Primo search results

There is an issue with full text links not appearing in the Primo record when the incorrect ISSN is in the 022$y field. If the incorrect ISSN is in an IZ record, the search stops there and there is no full text link in Primo when in actuality there is full text available from the NZ. Can the NZ records be used in this case, not just end at the "bad" IZ record?
My end goal would be that when looking for full text, the search doesn’t end with an IZ record that may or may not have the correct…

  11. Inactive/Active change to be visible in history tab

When a users account is made inactive/active it does not currently show in the history tab. I would be extremely useful to be able to view when a users account becomes inactive.

  12. Incoherent date in the “Date” column when the transaction type is “Expenditure”

According to the developer, the expenditure date comes from the invoice date and always comes from it (see documentation at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/020Acquisitions/030Invoicing/020Creating_Invoices).

As you can see there, the calculation of the exchange rate is also done according to this date: "By default, Alma calculates the value of the transaction based on the exchange rate on the date specified in Invoice Date."

Now we know where the date comes from when the type of transaction is “Expenditure”. However, in other types of transactions (transfer, allocation, encumbrance, etc.) the date that appears corresponds to the moment in which the transaction occurs. For…

  13. There should be a separate category for Transfers - along with Allocations and Expenditures.

At the Fund level, there should be a separate category for Transfers. Right now, if a transfer is made, the allocation changes. There should be Original Allocation (the original amount, doesn't change), Transfers, Current Allocation (original plus Transfers) and Expenditures. It's important for me to know what the original allocation is. If the Transfers are not reflected, what is shown with only the Allocations and Expenditures gives a distorted picture of the money for that fund. You can get a break down of Allocations, Transfers and Expenditures in Analytics - why can't it be shown in the ledger?

Self checkout over sip2 to have Alerts/fulfillment notes on checkout , not checkin only.

  15. Alma Analytics: Add "Pickup Location" to the Borrowing Requests Subject Area

We need tp know which local library locations requested how many items from each Lending institution in an analytic report. When Borrowing requests first go out go out we can easily see which of our, let's say 4, different library pick up locations ordered each item by looking at the pick up location parameter in the facets, The pick up location is even maintained in Alma once the item is filled. But it is not available in the Borrowing Request subject area of the analytic. We can only get an aggregate campus total for requests borrowed from each Lending Institution.…

  16. Add Storage Location ID to the list of customized fields on the Manage Item Returns screen

We have thousands of items in our collection that are primarily organized by the storage location ID, rather than call or accession number. For these materials, routing and reshelving activities would be more efficient if staff have the option to add the Storage Location ID to the list of customizable fields on the Manage Item Returns screen.

  17. Duplicate Title Analysis should include match option for Unique OCLC number match method

The Duplicate Title Analysis job and report currently include matching on only one attribute at a time, rather than on all of the attributes that might be covered by a given match rule. For instance, matching on system number provides only matches between 035$a in different records, while the Unique OCLC number match method covers both 035$a and 035$z. As a result the duplicate title analysis report is missing records that would otherwise be found by an import profile or the match method in the network zone.

  19. Allow option to only send scheduled report from Analytics object if report has results

We want to set up reports to help us monitor for data inconsistencies and other issues that need addressing. We have noticed that we can set up reports as analytics objects and users can subscribe to them, but the report is sent even if there are no results.

We should have the option to not send empty reports, and only send if the report brought back one or more records.

  20. Option for support from within EU for EU customers

There should be an option for Alma customers within the EU to allow access opportunities for Ex Libris staff in the EU only. The purpose is to increase the compliance with GDPR by
limiting access to data by US intelligence authorities as far as possible.
