  1. Add Note Option for Fines/Fees

    We have several short-loan items that our patrons check out, and these items often generate small fines that are difficult to track whether or not a fine is legitimate, or if there may have been operator error.

    For example, we circulate study rooms where a student may check out the room key, and a box of white board markers or a television remote. If the student returns the room key and white board markers on time, but not the remote, it's difficult to tell if that's valid.

  2. Further define credits for patron fines

    Fines often get exported through Bursar before a patron disputes them. Our lost item replacement fees and overdue fines get funneled into different accounts. The vague description for "credit" does not give our system any way to determine which account the credit should be adjusted from. (For example: A lost item replacement fee charge ends up in our materials budget once sent to the Bursar. The majority of credits are for materials returned after they were billed, so this is our default credit account.   3. Print slip option in the Acqisition receive screen

    We want a print slip option for the Receive screen in Acquisition that includes barcode and location, reporting codes, receiving note and notification of interested user/ patron request.

  4. Lead time for booking requests

    We use the Reading Room functionality for our Rare Books and Special Collections items. These items are not on open shelves and are securely stored with access only available to staff to retrieve items. Currently there is no way to specify a lead time between making the booking and the start time of booking (ie. you can make a booking for an item at 10am, with a booking start time of 11am that same day).   5. Include parser override values in it's own column in extended export report

    Include parser override values in it's own column in extended export report

    It's not possible to view which portfolios in a collection have parser override values. Currently, the value is included in the parser parameters value in extended export reports.

    It would be helpful with managing portfolios to have a way to see when a portfolio has a parser override value. That way, we could check on those portfolios and make sure the CZ parser value has been corrected.

  6. Alma new layout: better visual distinction between Alma Main Menu and Alma Configuration

    One major change is that the Main Menu (with the Alma functional areas: Acq, Resources, Fulfillment,...) is now on the left side. The Alma Configuration Menu is also on the left side.

    It can be difficult to visually distinguish between the Main Menu and the Configuration Menu. (Please see "Alma new layout, Main Menu vs Config Menu.png")

  7. Trial : request of a Trial viewer role

    There are 3 roles about Trials : administrator, operator and participant.
    But none gives access to the Trials and all information with only option to view (and not delete neither modify datas).
    A license viewer role exists in ALMA ; we request a similar Trial viewer role.

  8. Transit Letter: CC to the destination

    Enable an option in Fulfillment for a transit letter to be sent to both destinations (From + To).
    As for today, only the “From” department receives a notification letter.
    If a CC was an option there was no need to print / forward the letter.

  9. Borrowing Renewal Workflow (non-ISO): Letter to patron in case of a not accepted Renewal Request

    If a Renew Request was accepted, a letter (Ful Borrowing Info letter) is sent to the patron.
    However, if a Renew Request was not accepted, no letter is sent to the patron.

  10. Archived Reading Lists show up in Reading List Tasks

    When I archive reading lists, they show up in reading list task section and there isn't way to remove them from there. I don't need know that they've been archived, so it would be nice if they didn't show up in this area since I use it to monitor reading lists I'm currently working on. If there is a way to configure this, so they don't show up, I haven't been able to find any documentation for it. (Most of the time I get pointed to Leganto and we don't use it)

  11. Ability to change barcodes directly from the list of items (under Receive – One time / Continuous - Manage items)

    In the list of items in the receive screen it looks as though barcodes are editable directly from the list, this is not the case, as you manually must edit each item to change the barcode. It would mean less clicks if you could edit the barcode directly from the list, it would also be less confusing since it in the current design looks as if you should be able to do this. In the current design you can edit the text in the barcode field in the list, but any changes are not saved.

  13. Renewal Hour and Renewal Time in the Renewal Date folder on Fulfillment

    Hello,

    Some days ago one of our libraries asked for some hourly fulfillment reports. I then noticed that the "Renewal Date" folder does not have a "Renewal Hour" nor a "Renewal Time", as most of the other date folders have. Is it possible to add a "Renewal Hour" or "Renewal Time" to the "Renewal Date" folder?

  14. Standing orders - transferring additional information from one PO Line to another by changing the vendor in standing order

    Changin vendor for the Print Book Standing Orders closes current PO line and creates a new one instead simply changing a vendor. This action moves all items to new PO line while the additional and very useful information are lost. Keeping all internal notes (PO Line notes, renewal note, invoice note), attachments, invoice lines, history in a new PO line allows us to track standing order and to avoid unexpected problems with our inventory.
    We would like to have this option in the work with Print Book Standing Orders.

    In some cases it is important to know the process type of the item, more specifically whether it is on loan. In a purchase order line, it is currently only possible to see the availability of the item under 'Ordered Items', not the process type. The green dot under ‘Availability’ means whether the item has been received and not if it is actually available on the shelf, which is misleading.   16. Using License Terms and Display Logic Rules to hide certain collections

    Electronic Resources are not always available to all patrons at a subscribing institution, either due to region locking or prohibitive pricing for extending access to students at partner institutions/certain user groups. Currently in Alma/Primo VE there is no satisfactory way to stop these resources surfacing where a signed in user does not have access such as when Alumni or Walk In.

    The restricted user groups feature is overkill in this regard. We don't want to limit a user groups access to CDI or EBSCO content entirely, just select collections/databases based on the licence restrictions pertaining to their user group.

  17. Allow relinking of items to other holdings records via API

    The Alma user interface allows cataloguers to relink an item onto a different holdings record, either on the same bibliographic record or a different one. It is not possible to relink an item via the API.

    If a library wishes to do a major restructure of holdings records via API (e.g. post migration from another system), it is currently impossible. For example, during migration of our early printed books from our old LMS, Ex Libris craeted one holdings record per location, despite there being multiple distinct items with different shelfmarks and provenance history, which should have separate holdings records.   18. Community Zone Authorities vs Network Zone Authorities

    When authority records are managed from a Network Zone (NZ) in a cooperative way—that is, when several institutions create and maintain authority records of different types (names, subjects, etc.)—it is confusing for catalogers when authorities from the Community Zone appear.

  19. Add a checkout widget that can be accessed from the desktop

    The most common thing we need to do in Alma is to check out books, but we need to train our students and Circ clerks to go to "Manage Patron Services." What about some kind of checkout widget or even an entry in the main Alma menu that actually says "Check out" or "Check in"?

  20. Customization of invoice line summary display

    The notes field on the invoice lines summary display currently displays a tick if there is anything is written in the notes field of the invoice line. It would be more convenient if we could customize/configure what we can view so that we can see the content of the notes field without having to go in and view the individual invoice line.
