Set an "end of term" due date, by patron group, that would be prioritized over TOU due date
We would like the ability to set a set an end-of-term due date that would outweigh the due date calculated based by the TOU on a transactions.
And, we would like to be able to apply the due date to particular user groups.
The related functionality currently available includes using fixed due dates in the TOU, or relying on patron expiration dates.
Our use case includes:
1) requiring all materials be returned at the end of each quarter.
2) student loan periods that are not fixed date due dates, but instead are short duration.
3) expiration of student records in Alma at the end of each school year, rather than quarter.
With current functionality, we can only achieve 2 out of 3 of these goals, and so currently use end-of-quarter expiration dates.
By allowing the configuration of an end-of-term priority due date that would override a TOU-calculated due date, we could achieve all 3 goals simultaneously.
And, because this use case only applies to students, we would ideally like to set such a priority due date by user group.

Voyager automatically decremented loan dates in advance of the End of Term date without having to make any adjustments to the circulation policy matrix (TOU). Having to change multiple TOUs and then change them back again is really not a viable solution.

Changing the TOU on specific days is a clumsy workaround. Alma should allow a line in the TOU Loan for End-of-Term and handle the issue dynamically if a user enters the TOU Loan End-of-Term date.

I think this idea would be helpful at our library.
We currently wait until the night the calculated due dates would surpass the fixed due date and then we change many of the terms of use to have a fixed due date.
Then on the night of the fixed due date we go and change all the terms of use that we modified back to calculated dates so post term students can get their regular calculated due dates.
So it would be nice if something could override that could be done in advance instead of day of.
We experimented with setting patron expiration dates but we always have exceptions where a handful of students need their due date extended past their patron expiration date for special reason. So far i haven't found a way to change a due date to a point in the future past the patron's expiration date. I assume that is intentionally restricted.
