  1. Save Facet Settings

    There are facet settings/searches we tend to run more than others. It would be really excellent and save a lot of duplicated work if it was possible to save certain facet configurations or bookmark the search so we could quickly access it again later. Would be even better if those searches could be shared among our staff, like how public sets are.

    An example would be having a saved Request/Process type facet filter so we could quickly see what items were needing to be shipped physically, but there are any number of facet searches that it would be fantastic…

  2. Add a parameter to turn off Borrowing Activity Letter when using renew selected or renew all

    Currently, the "Borrowing Activity Letter" is sent when a staff member renews items for a patron via Manage Patron Services.

    This letter is often superfluous and the behavior is not ideal for libraries with "separate _ patron _ notifications _ by _ library" set to true – it ends up sending a letter from each library where the patron borrowed material.

    If we had a parameter that could turn off sending it when renew selected or renew all is used, then we would turn it off and staff could elect to send it when they felt it was useful or…

  3. Allow Personal Delivery to be fulfilled from any library circ desk

    Scenario: When an item belonging to another library that has an active home delivery request is returned or scanned in at another library's circulation desk, the item is put in transit to the owning library for the request to be fulfilled. The home delivery request should be fulfilled from any loans desk regardless of which library the item belong to.
    We are multi campus institution with libraries 100s of kms apart. We require the personal delivery requests to be fulfilled from any of our libraries, instead having to return the items to the owning library.

  4. AFN Loans on library loans webhooks

    We manage home delivery requests. We need to print labels and generate a file of deliveries once a day with all loans.

    Alma did not provide a list of home delivery transactions the same day, you need to wait the next day to generate a Analytics report.

    We have developed a solution that makes a list using Loans Webhooks. Now we are using AFN (Automated Fulfillment Network) in our consortium and those transactions are not published on our Webhook, because books are from other institutions even though the loan was made in our system.

  5. Tasks Widget: Show 'Assigned to me' consistently in ALL Task Lists

    In the Tasks on the homepage, 'Purchase Requests' ALWAYS show any tasks 'assigned to me' when I expand the curtain.

    'Reading Lists' NEVER shows any tasks 'assigned to me' when I expand the curtain. There are often Reading Lists assigned to me, so it would be helpful to just be able to see that like with Purchase Requests, rather than having to look in on all reading lists every day.

    Same with Borrowing Requests, and Lending Requests. 'Assigned to me' does not show, whereas Electronic Resources assigned to me do appear.

  6. Alma Resource Sharing - identifying where chapter only (not book) is required

    We sometimes receive physical books where only chapters were requested via Resource Sharing as the chapter details requested by us as the Borrower do not appear in the Lenders view (even although they are also an Ex Libris client). This slows down turn around time and adds postage costs where only scans were required.

  7. User API order response of identifiers

    When a response is received from the users API the identifiers aren't ordered.

    For example our library gates system requests a GET on the user API to retrieve an identifier, in our case <id_type desc="Additional ID 1">OTHERID1</id_type>. it can only read the first hit for this identifier

    I would like the response to order the values by status, with Active coming first.

    This would allow us to read the active value and ignore any subsequent Inactive values

  8. Allow for format de-duplicating in YBP Real Time Ordering

    When we were testing the Real-Time Integration between YBP and Alma, we found that if we own either the print or electronic format, but we receive a request for the other format, the order attaches to the existing bib, even if it is in the wrong format. In these cases, if the format is different, what should happen is that the system should create a new brief MMS record for the order's format. I've been told that adding additional matchpoints to prevent this would have to be an enhancement request. As YBP has told me that three other libraries…

  9. allow auto-renewals for NCIP resource sharing borrowing requests

    According to the documentation, "Automatic renewal is possible only for ISO partners" you can check this in the following link:

  10. The Internal Identifier number automatically assigned to Borrowing Requests once they are sent to partner is long and cumbersome

    The number is quite long and my team is having difficulty managing it when looking up requests or spotting it on the in-tray. We've noticed that the first two letters and the final seven are always the same, with the unique identifying numbers in the middle. I'm not sure what the numbers mean, if the stable numbers identify our institution or similar, but could a couple dashes be added?

    i.e. 33-1008366-0002761 instead of 3310083660002761

    Either that or can the Internal Identifier search could be made into a fuzzy/variant search so my team could just search for the seven unique…

  11. Improve “Chat for Support” role to add product specific scoping or separate roles per product

    As more products are added and managed by the Alma HEP it becomes a concern that Ex Libris is not adding necessary granularity for roles. The “Chat for Support” role does not have any granularity for different products.
    For example, we would like for some of our senior acquisitions staff to have visibility and ability to open Chat sessions for minor title by title issues with Rialto, which we have recently implemented. But this is not possible, as the role gives visibility and ability to open Chat sessions for Alma also, which is not appropriate per our internal management of…

  12. Removing temporary location on circ - sometimes only

    When assigning a temporary location, I would like to be able to specify a conditions to remove from the temporary location when it circulates.

    For example:

    If an item has a temporary location of: Course Reserves, then the existing system works great - there's a pull request generated at the Due Back date and we scan them in and restore the permanent location - and one would NOT was the temporary location changed if circulated.

    But when the temporary location is New Book Shelf, I would like to have that temporary location removed when the book goes on loan. (now…

  13. Add ability to prevent addition of identifiers to user accounts

    There is a privilege in several Alma roles of USER _ IDENTIFIER _ UPDATE. This specifically allows a user to edit an existing identifier, including deletion. There is no associated privilege to remove the visibility of the 'Add identifier' option. If the update privilege is removed in an attempt to prevent staff adjusting this key identifier information, this leads to the situation of staff still being able to add an identifier, but then they can't edit or delete what they just added, even in cases where they might have mistakenly entered it incorrectly.   14. Auto-expand the UI preferences in the User menu

    Our staff often don't know about the 'UI preferences' personalization options to change the font size to better suit their needs, or to see the handy list of shortcuts directly within Alma (rather than having to go to the online help documentation). This is because it's hidden behind an unnecessary dropdown arrow.

    When I show it to staff, they exclaim happily to know that they have such options, but this is often quickly followed by a comment of regret that they weren't aware about this already for years.

  15. Index 049 field.

    We tie the OCLC holding library in the 049 closely to our Alma holding locations. Searching the text in the 049 field as keyword is quicker than an advanced search. If the idea below to allow free text searching of all MARC fields and subfields is implemented it would cover this request.

  16. Make "Automatically print slip" toggle available when scanning in Fulfillment Network items

    When we receive requested items from Fulfillment Network libraries via Scan In Items, the hold slip doesn't print because the "Automatically print slip" option disappears as soon as we select the "Item from another institution" checkbox. We would like the "Automatically print slip" toggle to remain available regardless of which institution's item we're scanning. The option was added to the Resource Sharing Receiving Items screen in 2017, and it seems logical (and necessary) in this situation as well.

  17. Pop-up message for activating / deactivating the patron’s identifier using the slider

    To activating or deactivating the patron’s identifier, it can be done by toggling the slider to “blue color” (i.e. ON) or “gray color” (i.e. OFF) under the tab ‘Identifier’ of the patron account in Alma. The attachment shows the screen capture. Once, the slider is toggled, the identifier will be activated or deactivated immediately. The “Cancel” button on top right-hand corner (“red rectangle”) has no effect to turn it back to the old value after toggling the slider.

  18. POL cancelled

    Cancelled POL and Tag Suppressed (Title)
    On order items display to the public, the ordered item displays as "checked out" and the status is "On order until ...". However, when an order is cancelled for whatever reason, the display changes to "Check holdings" and a message regarding no physical resources... appears in the public display. This is rather disconcerting for the patrons - and staff.
    As a Catalog manager, I am queried about such displays and then suppress the bibliographic record from Discovery.

  19. Bibliographic item records to have a pop up note when clicked on

    Case - we sometimes loan a set of books to students on a specific module course for short periods and make sure they cant be requested by suppressing them from primo and putting them into a temporary location. It would be helpful if there was a configurable pop-up note on item records. So that when any librarian clicked on the item, they would get a pop-up message and this message was editable. Then user services staff would know that the book needs to be dealt with a specific way. We have tried using the fulfilment note, but this only…

  20. Prevent Alma from showing "not listed" alerts against correct values in ALL 049 subfields

    The January 2016 Alma Resolved Issues spreadsheet advises that:

    'In the MD Editor: [...] For local fields (9xx, x9x, xx9) the alert "The field is not listed in profile" appeared; it no longer appears. [...]'

    Four years on, however, it still does in places, perhaps most noticeably in the 049 field.
