  1. Add "Field searched" Column in "Primo Popular Searches" Analytics

    "Field searched" is an attribute field that stores the field being searched. This is relevant if the user performed a search on a specific field (such as authors only). But now we can only use this function in the "Zero Result Searches". We would like to use this function in the "Primo Popular Searches", so that we could do more users behavior analysis.

  2. Skip Location for Lending Requests

    For "patron physical item requests", there is an option called "Skip location". We use this option when we don't have the requested material available at our campus library, but another of our campus libraries does. In these cases, when we click on the "Skip location"-button, the request gets automatically transferred to a library which has the material available.

    We would like to have a similar "Skip location"-function for lending requests. Today we have to manually transfer the lending requests between our campus libraries, if we don't have the material available at the library which originally got the request. A "Skip…

  3. Send ALMA notification when fines are waived

    It would be helpful if ALMA can send a patron an email notification when fines are forgiven. ALMA is very good at communicating all other transactions, especially when a patron has generated a fine. However, when staff forgive fines in ALMA, there should be an easy way for staff to communicate with patrons. Currently, our preferred method is to directly email patrons and this reduces patron confusion on their end. Thank you! From a Circulation Manager

  4. Add due date or overdue status to the search bar criteria

    Would it be possible to either add criteria to the search bar which either includes the Due Date of a loan, or a flag of Is Overdue (equals Yes/No)?

    Reason: If we want to check on certain overdue items, I can't find a quick & easy way to investigate them. Adding these to the search bar would leverage the other search criteria to make easy Logical sets of items that are overdue in certain areas (such as reserves or equipment loans).

  5. Configuration of “Remote Facility” Library location

    Allow an institution to override a “Remote Facility” library location from being first or last for selection to fulfill a request.
    This should be an option via Configuring Transit Time Rules.
    An alert could be activated to notify the operator that including a “Remote Facility” library location in transit time rules will override its designation as a first or last selection.

    This would be immensely helpful for institutions that require flexibility to meet the needs of their users while adapting to needs of physical facilities on campuses.

  6. Support multiple photo_identifier_type values

    Allow the photoidentifiertype to accept multiple codes. Our institution recently changed primaryIDs and our card issue office cannot retrofit their db for legacy users using the old primaryID.

  7. On Top Level Collections list, change "created" date to "updated" date

    Please change the Resource Mangement-->Manage Collections-->Top Level Collection menu to swap out "create date" to "last update" or similar. It's important to know which collections haven't been updated. It's only 'nice' to know the create date.'

  8. Add school address as a configurable option for the user card

    In the pop up user card that displays, for example, in the Borrowing Requests screen, you can configure the home or work address to display. Since the mandatory address in our student enrolment system Callista, is mapped to the School address in Alma, please add the School address also as a configurable field for the user card.

  9. Link POLs to EDI invoice lines using Identifier field

    When loading EDI invoices from a vendor that do not include POL information, use the Alma Identifier field (usually the ISBN) to match the EDI invoice line to the POL.

  11. Notes in POL's should only be for notes (not history)

    The notes tab in POL's for serials/journals should only be for notes that pertain to that order. When orders are set to automatic renewal, every year when it renews a note is added saying "PO Line has been renewed automatically". Over the years this note takes over and all of the pertinent notes are moved to the bottom. I am constantly having to remove those automatic renewal notes to keep the important notes at the top. The automatic renewal note should go into the history tab not the note tab.

  12. Monitor Requests & Item Processes - Library Independence

    It is possible to cancel processes at libraries that you do not have any role at using the Monitor Requests & Item Processes screen. A cancel button appears next to every request.

    Patron physical item requests are correctly only visible based on your role but other processes such as work orders are visible and cancellable by all staff with access to the Monitor Requests & Item Processes page.

    Visibility is not a problem as the data isn't private, but the ability to cancel a process should be limited by the scope of the role.

  13. Add filter for presence of POL to electronic collections portfolio lists

    Currently, the only way to determine which portfolios in an electronic collection have an attached POL is to export the portfolio list and check column Z "Orders" in the Excel file. You must then search each portfolio individually to act upon its POL. A filter in the portfolio list for "POL attached" would be much more efficient.

  14. Mouse cursor after save

    In the Meta data editor after "save", the cursor goes to the LDR field. It would be nice if the cursor will go to the search of Alma.

  15. Modify column size in search results

    We would like to be able to modify the width of the columns for search results in Alma. The collection status (in the "Item Availability" column) can be difficult to read for some records, which forces us to open the record to read it properly.

  16. Access Student Photos Securely

    Currently, user photos are only available via a web link https://myurl/photo/studentidentifier.jpg. This means that all student photos need to be available over the internet which in the UK is a Data Breach. There needs to be a way that only the student in question or an authorised staff member can see the photo. It is not possible to use 3rd party software like Azure to do this as the cross-site scripting protection gets in the way.

  17. Fulfillment: User receives an email when an item that has requests on it is issued to them and the loan period is shorter than normal

    In our loan Terms of Use the Recall Period and Requested Item Due Date are set to 3 days. If a user requests an item, but then another request is placed on the item before they collect it from the library and it is issued to them, when the item is issued to them they are not informed that there is another request on the item so the loan period is only 3 days.   18. Make "Always show current location" the default

    Please either make "Always show current location" checkbox ticked by default or allow a system configuration to toggle whether it is force displayed. It is always more useful to see the location than not.

  20. Bulk receiving via CSV/Excel

    Receiving a list of items via a bulk excel spreadsheet or CSV file. This would allow users to avoid mistakes when receiving a large inventory one at a time. For example, when adding an item to a holding record, if all items are issues but the default option is book, there may be human error and they forget to change it to issue. if it was an excel spreadsheet, they could simply fill the cells and copy them for the entire column to insure it would all be issues.
