Notes in POL's should only be for notes (not history)
The notes tab in POL's for serials/journals should only be for notes that pertain to that order. When orders are set to automatic renewal, every year when it renews a note is added saying "PO Line has been renewed automatically". Over the years this note takes over and all of the pertinent notes are moved to the bottom. I am constantly having to remove those automatic renewal notes to keep the important notes at the top. The automatic renewal note should go into the history tab not the note tab.

This information belongs to the history. At the moment these system generated notes are clogging our notes field and distract from important information.

yes please as imagine users have to delete those notes one by one manually, for hundreds POLs...

Glad to find that this has already been raised and completely agree with everything that has been said. The POL Notes should be user-entered notes only. "The PO Line was renewed automatically on..." and "Line was removed from Order ..." belong in the history. I don't see any functional purpose to have them clutter up the notes and displace relevant POL Notes we need to reference. Deleting them manually in each POL is a nuisance. Please make this at least an option in the configuration to turn off!

I totally agree.
Furthermore, this kind of note sometimes is redundant: When manually renewing an "Electronic Collection - Subscription" you get every step in the history tab and an additional note in the notes tab saying "The PO Line has renewed manually on YYYY-MM-DD by 123456". It's needlessly inflating the notes tab. -

As helpful as it is to know when an order has been renewed, this information belongs into the history section. I agree with my fellow librarians that this is also the case concerning the information on when an POL has been removed or cancelled. Please remove all of this to the history section where it belongs and where it would be very useful indeed.

The notes field should only be for notes pertaining to that order that we have entered into the field. Not system generated notes ie "The PO Line has renewed automatically on 2025-01-02 by the system" or "this PO Line has been cancelled". These notes should go in the history field. Over time these notes take over and push the notes we want to see to the bottom. So you end up going through pages of notes trying to find the important notes. So system generated notes should go in the history field.

At the very least we should have the option to configure whether these automatically generated notes are added or not.

Have the option to turn off "The PO Line has renewed automatically on date by the system" notes if not required or be able to delete in bulk. They can make it hard to find specific notes about the order

The notes-tab also stores other "notes" that do not belong here, e.g. "Line was removed from Order PO-123456"
