  1. Create exceptions for "Closed Library Due Date Management" Settings

    We want to create exceptions for the "closed due date management" setting in our TOUs based on events in the calendar. For example, for single day exceptions such as for holiday closed dates like 4th of July, Memorial Day, etc., we want items due AFTER the exception, but for our month long winter break, we want everything due before the break begins so we can update our equipment and complete inventory over the break.   2. In Fulfillment Notes - Can the text of the actual Note be larger than the accompanying text?

    The text of the Note in Fulfillment Notes is smaller and less attention getting than the surrounding text, e.g.; "Are you sure you want to perform this action?"
    It would be easier to find and process if the text were larger than the surrounding text.

  3. Improve filtering of packages in Community Zone

    When checking for a portfolio to import from the Community Zone, there can be large numbers of collections to sift through from the large suppliers. These appear in what I guess is reverse chronological order i.e. newest created first. It takes much scrolling and scrutiny if you don't want the collections that are offered first.
    There should be a way either to search for the collection you want, or to filter by collection via a drop down. This would save time and also help prevent selecting the wrong collection and possibly having broken links in the Alma linkresolver

  4. PO Line and invoice attachments: Upload/View/Edit/Delete - additional user roles needed

    It is possible to upload attachments to a PO Line or an invoice. These attachements can be viewed, edited and deleted as well.

    In case of using Alma as (the only) data storage for e.g. invoice PDFs, it is very important that attachments can be deleted only by specially privileged staff users. Deletion might be necessery e.g. because of erroneous uploads.

    Looking into the 'Roles Reports' shows that there is no 'Delete' option listed (so Edit means also Delete):

  5. Improve Secondary Reporting Code List Table Functionaility

    We use the secondary reporting code table to list our selectors and tie their names to any selections they have made in Alma. Currently, we have around 35-40 selectors and we keep them alphabetized by last name, first name. The problem is when we go to create a new user the user is placed at the bottom of the column. We then have to manually click the row up one time until we get it in the position we want. Every arrow click also refreshes the page which can lead to 10-15 minutes of clicking to get a user to…

  6. Natural Days vs Working Day in Loans

    Hi,
    My suggestion is to implement the option of using working days or opening days to calculate the expiration date in a loan.
    Actually ALMA set this day by taking the natural days, but in a small library do not want to count Sundays as a day of loan, in attention to the students.

  7. The pre-check function during creating an invoice

    A customer needs a pre-check function during creating an invoice line, if the vendor of the selected PO line is different with the invoice line's, Alma should notify the user. So it could save time than verify it during the save stage.

    Just like the way there is receive all PO lines i would be very helpful to have return all loans function as well this will save lots of time.

  9. automate user update job to send user emails ie about to expire

    Currently the user update job can send emails to patrons. However due to the technical aspect of creating sets and running the job our user services librarians prefer to take the information out of a dashboard and widget and add them to a template email in outlook. It would be better if a schedule job could be created to send out user update emails to logical sets. Specifically for users that are about to expire - and have loans to return.

  10. Allow options for how items act when checked out during an "exception-closed" in the Alma Calendar

    Allow option for how items act when check out occurs during closed hours (not focusing on due back time). During weeks like spring break, we set an exception that we are closed so our week long/3 week long book check outs will not come due that week to account for students possibly leaving campus. This means when we try to check out hourly items during spring break, they are due back immediately since they were checked out during a closed period. We cannot adjust the due time for hourly items checking out during that week properly without deleting the exceptions…

  11. Allow free text in "Change Portfolio" job, "Set interface name" field

    i work almost exclusively with local, standalone portfolios for electronic resources. I need to be able to globally update the "Interface name" field with free text. The"Change Portfolio" job currently only allows the change to be to one of the vendor code names established in the Acquisitions area. Our acquisitions staff have not set up in Alma such codes for many resources, for example, e-collections for which we purchased perpetual access years before we migrated to Alma.

  12. Filter Pick From Shelf List, Active Hold Shelf, and Expired Hold Shelf by Patron Physical Item Request or Ship Physically

    Currently, the Pick From Shelf list, Active Hold Shelf, and Expired Hold Shelf don't allow the items displayed in the list to be filtered. If Resource Sharing requests ("ship physically") and Patron Physical Item Requests must be combined, it would be much more useful to be able to filter out one or the other. It makes it difficult for Circulation staff to monitor the pick list and active and expired holds when we can't filter out the Resource Sharing requests that we don't work with, and the same holds for our Resource Sharing staff.

    Would like to have a forward option when working in a list of catalog records. It's cumbersome to have to go backward to go forward to the next record in the list.

  14. Customize fields required for ordering template

    Ordering templates are very helpful, but depending on the set up of each library, all the fields that are required right now may not make them as useful as they could be.

    For example, we could use templates more widely - and save more time - if a PO Line type OR if fund was not always required, and instead leave that to the operator to fill in.

  15. warning when saving changes in patron record before closing record

    When editing a user record, it would be helpful to get a warning pop-up if you try to close the record without saving it. Sometimes when you get interrupted, it's very easy to just close the record without saving the change.

  16. BIBFRAME support for UNIMARC

    Currently, Alma can expose bib records in Linked Data in BIBFRAME format, but for MARC21 records only. I ask to develop the support for UNIMARC too, in order to expose UNIMARC records in BIBFRAME format through APIs, Publishing and the Alma Resource management UI.

  17. Save emails to and from Patrons for Requests

    When we “Send query to requestor” as we Manage Purchase Requests in Alma, it would help greatly if our communication “query” would be saved under a communications tab for that request. This would create a history of actions related to that request. Currently, I can only put notes into the “requestor note” field of the request, and there is no other record of queries sent to the requestor for that request unless I copy the query to myself. Connecting email messages in my box to the Purchase requests in Alma, is not convenient. Is there a way to save this…

  18. Update user roles quickly - import the Excel file exported from another user

    Currently, it's possible export a user's roles in Alma to an Excel file. However, the counterpart function isn't there: to be able to take the roles you've exported from one user and import them into another user's record. This would be such a time-saving feature because it would enable us to take the roles from one member of staff and apply the same to another.

  19. Use of parentheses in advanced search

    Currently advanced search does not allow the use of parentheses. We'd like to suggest the capability of using parentheses in doing some complicated search logic. This can shorten the search query a lot. Currently, we have to repeat the search queries, and apply a combination of AND/OR search logic. The attachment explains the situation with a screen shot of current search logic.

  20. Require a barcode for newly received serials

    Serials can be assigned a barcode upon receipt, but it would be nice of Alma would prompt users to provide the barcode if/when a barcode is required rather than merely optional. (We only barcode some titles, so a prompt of some kind would help staff who don't know which titles are barcoded as a matter of routine.)
