New type of block : booking
Currently the Block Preferences in Alma have Block options to permit Blocks on :
· Block types 01 et 02= Loan and renewals
· Block type 03= Loan and renewals and request
· Block type 04 = Resource sharing
· Block type 05 = Request
It would be good to include a type of block for Booking only. It would allow us to block Booking without blocking other services for a patron.
Right now libraries can’t choose to sanction a booking abuse without blocking every other service. It is too strong a sanction for some users.
Best regards,
Nathalie Darbon

Preset item policy for subscription PO Lines
Having the ability to set an item policy for a subscription PO Line would save time and trouble. Currently, when a serials item is received (checked in), one must go into the individual item record to set the item policy. Too many clicks. Also, if someone else is checking in serials, they might forget about this additional step. If someone tries to check out an item, will the person at circulation know that it is in-library use only, 3-day use or 14-day use?

Empty User Roles via API
We would like to be able to empty all user roles using an API call. Currently, User_Roles is the only segment that keeps untouched when the API call object does not contain any roles. This makes it necessary to keep at least one role as a parameter and it makes no sense from the API usability as it actually always returns the full user objets including empty roles arrays when we delete all roles from Alma end-point.

Inactive/Active change to be visible in history tab
When a users account is made inactive/active it does not currently show in the history tab. I would be extremely useful to be able to view when a users account becomes inactive.

Ignore call number prefix ($$k) in BROWSE SHELFLIST in Alma
Alma's Browse Shelflist function includes the call number prefix (holdings record field 852 $$k) when generating the browse list. At the University at Buffalo, we use that prefix for oversize volumes, and for a variety of other sub-locations, designations and shelving areas.
As a result, any holdings with a prefix ($$k) does not show up alongside holdings in the same call number range, essentially hiding many titles from staff who seek to browse the shelf list.
An advanced search for specific library holdings, permanent call number type, and permanent call number does not remedy this issue, as it does not enable us to truly browse the shelflist.
Please reconfigure Alma's browse search to ignore (but, ideally, still display) the call number prefix when generating this index.
It seems that this was done for Primo, and we would like to see this functionality mirrored in Alma.

Ability to convert from digital/electronic to physical request
we have encountered issues when a citation for a digital/electronic request for an article/chapter is either beyond what is permitted within copyright policy or is insufficient to determine what is needed
rather than cancel the request and have it hit the next institution on a rota, we prefer to be able to to convert the request to physical and route the entire item to the borrowing institution, much like the functionality available in ILLiad
would it be possible for there to be an option to convert a digital/electronic request to a physical request?
currently, we are required to close out the initial request and create a new request, to be able to send the item
just a note that we are using an Automated Fulfillment Network with Primo VE
thank you

Add electronic collection details to the Alma publishing
Currently both physical and digital collections are published to Primo. Because of this these data elements can be added to the display sections of the Primo UI including the collections facets (courtesy of the Primo back office rules).
Similarly the collection name is published to Primo Central and therefore can be included in the collections facet and full display Details section.
Note: The publishing should also include details showing whether the resource is a Community Zone resource or not. (It may be desirable to only include non-Community Zone collections in the Primo displays as the PCI collections is already displayed).
Use cases:
1. Currently our Primo collections facet includes Alma physical and digital collections values and PCI collections values however the Alma electronic collections are missing.
For consistency if should also be optionally possible to include the electronic name in the collections facet.
2. Setup the Alma electronic collection to be included in the Primo display and search fields.
3. Ability to publish the electronic collection for third party products such as Unstacked.Currently both physical and digital collections are published to Primo.

Subject Area "Alma Jobs" for Analytics
At the moment it is not possible to (easily) get data from the jobs running in Alma. The exports that can be pulled from "Monitor Jobs" are rather useless as they hardly contain data.
If I want numbers of processed records, runtimes etc. I have to use the API and still need to do a lot of manual work on that results.
It would be great to have a subject area in Analytics that cointains all the information from the "Job Report".Veronika, WU Vienna

Automate Work Order creation based on item location.
Boston College would like to be able to configure Alma so that work orders are auto-created for materials in a designated location when they are placed on loan.
Here is the desired workflow:
- Item is loaned.
- At the same time, Alma automatically places a work order on the item.
- When the item is returned to the managing circulation desk the work order is triggered and the item is routed to the correct work order department for processing.
The purpose of this request is to improve the management of the laptops that Boston College Libraries loan to patrons, and to facilitate the implementation of an online laptop availability tool.

Separate amount and its currency into two columns when exporting to excel
In the pages of Funds and Ledgers, we would propose to separate amount and its currency into two columns when exporting the file, which would be easy to perform calculations in excel.

Lead time for booking requests
We use the Reading Room functionality for our Rare Books and Special Collections items. These items are not on open shelves and are securely stored with access only available to staff to retrieve items. Currently there is no way to specify a lead time between making the booking and the start time of booking (ie. you can make a booking for an item at 10am, with a booking start time of 11am that same day). Staffing levels, item availability and item condition can sometimes mean that items are not available for use immediately (if at all), which creates problems for our clients – particularly if they have travelled some distance to specially view the item.
The ability to configure a lead time between time of making a booking and booking start time would ensure that we providing a better client experience for users of our Rare Books and Special Collections. It would give our staff time to check item condition and availability, and advise client of outcome of this before they arrive at our Library to view the item. This would mean that clients, many of whom will have travelled some distance to our Library, are guaranteed access when they visit us.

SIS Import/Synchronise: improve invalid character handling
When the Alma SIS Import/Synchronise job runs, if any of the files contain an invalid XML character, the entire job is aborted. The consequence of this is that user data held in Alma might be out-of-date, depending on whether it has recently changed in central systems. I assume this behaviour occurs because one of the initial steps when the import runs is to parse the input files as a whole, rather than parsing each user record individually.
This Ideas Exchange ticket requests that the SIS job is improved so that the job does not abort, but instead skips over the individual user record(s) that contains the invalid character(s).

Enhance Report to ExLibris ticket fields within Alma
Enhance the Report To ExLibris form in Alma with the following so that it matches the tickets submitted via SalesForce:
Contact Name field: defaults to whomever is logged in/made the default contact if there is no match. Ex: if Person B is logged into Alma and is configured to report from Alma, they are the default when submitting a problem, not Person A (which is currently listed first because its an alphabetical listing). This would help staff to submit tickets faster and without having to go into SalesForce after submitting to change the name.
Priority: Allow this as a field! This field is in Salesforce tickets but not an Alma-submitted ticket. This field, once a ticket is submitted, is not editable.
Emails: allow extra emails to be added to the ticket.Enhance the Report To ExLibris form in Alma with the following so that it matches the tickets submitted via SalesForce:

Set different reshelving time for specific collections in a library
The August release added a temporary Awaiting Shelving status which can only be configured at the library or circulations desk level.
We circulate all of our collections through one circ desk, but have a much shorter reshelving period for course materials (less than an hour) than for the general collection (up to a day). It would be useful to set different time to reshelve periods for these collections.

Get auto-renewals dates back into Analytics
Since the recently released August version, Analytics does not longer show the auto-renewal date due to a mentioned performance improvement on the nightly job. Please consider rolling back this change as it actually makes it impossible to get how many auto-renewals were made on a certain day in the past, since the only date we currently have is the Last Renewal Date which is updated every time the job runs. We virtually lost our auto-renewals log integrity.
I know we still have this Last Renewal Date, the amount of auto-renewals and the Loan Date, and we could easily calculate the auto-renewals specific dates doing some basic maths but this approach is not reliable because a loan could be manually renewed and its due date could be manually changed.
Consider rolling this back, because we ended up with no option but to disable auto-renewals in order to keep this renewals record for future queries, and these manual renewals will be processed individually on Analytics so it makes no sense to the desired improvement.

Un-receive option for items not in-department with interested users.
Current un-receive functionality is restricted to items which are still in department and having no interested users. It would be very helpful to have un-receive available without these two conditions attached.

Ability for fulfillment staff to renew patron loans from other institutions under network activity in Alma
Our consortium would like circulation desk staff to have the ability within Alma to renew items on loan from other institutions from under a user's network activity tab (renew all and renew selected, though renew all being more helpful if both are not possible).
Currently, only the user has access to a renewal option via their Primo VE My Library Card.
