  1. Notes tab visible as a column in the partner list in Resource sharing

    It would be very useful to have the Notes tab (free exchange, fast library, costs...) visible immediately as a column in the partner list to help us choose quickly the partner that sends the request to

  2. Adding newly registered patrons to the 'Recent patrons'-list

    Being able to see patrons entered in a session is very useful, but it would be great if the recent list also included new patrons registered during the session.

    Often times, patrons for instance request registration before they find the books they want to borrow. If we could easily access their patron services page when they return with them, it would streamline the process.

  3. Hide non-circulating library from 'pickup location' options for all requests as desired

    Example 1: We had an issue where a staff member had chosen an incorrect library for the pickup location for move requests (when putting items on Course Reserves). The library they chose was our Resource Sharing Library (which we don't use at all and so is irrelevant to us in every way). I submitted a case to Support asking if we could somehow hide this library from view in the pickup location options in Alma, but was told that this wasn't possible.

    I was advised to create an idea here relating to this problem, so here I am!

  4. Cancellation Reason

    If a Patron Physical Item request is cancelled via a job there is no Cancellation Reason given to the end user.
    It would useful to have a list of reasons that we could use for this letter.

    Aber direkt anzeigen bei den Requests lässt es sich (momentan) nicht. Welches Exemplar/Strichcode betroffen ist, lässt sich auch erst erkennen, wenn der Request einen bestimmten Status hat (zum Beispiel “On Hold Shelf).

  6. Analytics shared dimension

    Hi,
    We would like to be able to create a report showing remaining charges listed by user and include the block reason.

    The charge data is in subject area "Fines and Fees" and the block reason is in subject area "Users".

    We raised this as a case (06837145) but were told it's not possible without a shared dimension, this is the request to create that shared dimension.

  7. Requests Operator role in a profile

    When you set "requests operator" role in a profile, the Scope and Circulation Desk are mandatory.
    It'll be better not to record scope and circulation desk in the profile so they can be set when using the profile.
    Currently if you want to set the scope on another library than the one defined in the profile, you have to suppress the circulation desk, then change the scope, then set the circulation desk.

  8. preferred language

    We are a bilingual institution. Sometimes we need to email users regarding requests, etc. In Manage Patron Services, we have to go all the way into Edit User Info in order to see the user's Preferred Language. It would be easier if the area on the right that contains User Notes and other details (see file) also contained Preferred Language.

  9. Add text message notification option for patron overdue notices

    Allowing patrons to request text message notifications for overdue items would better ensure that they receive the overdue reminder notices, increasing the likelihood of having the materials returned more quickly, and decreasing the number of bills and collection efforts. Text messages are received on a more timely basis, while emails are often checked infrequently and can be more easily missed. Asking patrons at check out what the best way to contact them regarding overdue items and being able to offer text message notices (at their request, since some people do not have unlimited texting on their mobile device plan)…

  10. Manage Purchase Requests - facet by 'Assigned to:' and display Library notes

    Add to the facets the option to filter by 'Assigned to:'

    Also the option to see the notes tab details when viewing all Manage Purchase Requests 'in review' .
    We can see the requestor note but not any Library notes from the Manage Purchase Requests screen to make this information easier to review.

  11. Additional SMS possibilities using webhooks

    I would like to suggest additional SMS possibilities when using webhooks. Currently, there are only four SMS message possibilities triggered when using webhooks (Borrowing Activity Letter, Fulfillment Cancel Request Letter, Loan Status Notice, and On Hold Shelf Letter). Others that would be very helpful to include with webhooks are:

    Courtesy Letter, sent to patrons before their items are due

    Ful Overdue and Lost Loan Notification Letter, sent to patrons after their items have become overdue

  12. More Options for Sorting in Pick from Shelf List

    It would be really helpful to be able to sort items in the Pick from Shelf list by date. The facets are somewhat helpful, but sorting by date would make it more clear which requests have come in more recently today, for institutions that are monitoring requests as they come in during the day.

    Sorting by some of the other facets would probably also be helpful when you don't want them filtered out, just sorted: location, pickup institution, material type, etc.

  13. Add a note to patron field in Digitization Department

    It would be handy to have a way to include a note to the patron when fulfilling digitization requests. For example, a patron request chapters 1 and 17 from a 12 chapter book.

    I could process their request for chapter 1 and include a note saying "According to Fair Dealing guidelines we can only scan and send one chapter from this book. There is also no chapter 17 in this book so I've only included chapter 1."

  14. Enhance the locate profile for ISSN and Article Locate

    The current locate profile is able to locate Journals via ISSN but that fails to take account of publication years. Can we look to enhance the article locate function to take into account ISSN, YEAR and VOLUME.

    An example of a current issue we have is, a user requests an article with the ISSN 1234-1234 and the year 2020, the locate profile will currently match on institutions ISSN holdings only, so requests end up going to institutions that may have that Journal but not the year that the article is for.

    We’ve taken a close look at the proposal, and while we appreciate the concept, the technical feasibility presents significant challenges. Given our current priorities and resource constraints, it’s unlikely that we’ll be able to pursue this enhancement in the foreseeable future.

  15. Alma to automatically process pending requests when recalls are switched back on

    During Easter and Christmas vacation we turn off recalls in Alma, so requests are still placed by the user but recalls are not made. After the vacation, we turn recalls back on however Alma does not 'catch up/update' the pending requests into a recall.

    We would like Alma to therefore be able to process those requests in pending and turn them into recalls once the recalls have been switched back on.

  16. Allow MarcEdit Alma Integration to update Community Zone records (via API)

     Ex Libris has allowed us to edit Community Zone records, except 022 field.  Currently, we can only open the records in the metadata editor and add a MARC field one at a time.  Using MarcEdit Alma Integration to update a record one at a time results in an error, because the Alma API documentation states that “…updating a linked Community Zone record is currently not supported.”
    
      I am requesting Ex Libris to allow updating Community Zone records via MarcEdit Alma Integration., so that we can update records one at a time, instead of adding MARC fields to a record

  17. Allow lending RS locate process to fail if it cannot determine which volume from a multi-volume set is being requested

    Currently, Alma's lending locate process will automatically select a single volume from a multi-volume set if it can't determine which specific volume is being requested in a title level lending reqeust. It often selects the incorrect volume, and that error is rarely caught before the incorrect volume arrives at the borrowing library. It would be very helpful if the lending locate process failed in these scenarios rather. That would give library staff the opportunity to manually review the reqeust and select the correct volume.

  19. Add additional error code to Renew loan API when an item has been renewed but the due date hasn't changed

    The Users / Renew Loan API (https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/alma/apis/users/POST/gwPcGly021r0XQMGAttqcPPFoLNxBoEZNUiGwQUr+MuAI+35dTBcVUmYayAq/vUq/0aa8d36f-53d6-48ff-8996-485b90b103e4) currently only returns two errors - "Loan ID XXX does not exist." or "Cannot renew loan: Loan ID XXX." This API should return an additional status of "renewed, but due date didn't change" when that applies to the item in question. This would allow our locally developed catalog, which uses the Alma APIs for requesting items, to provide more complete information on why certain requests fail.

  20. Publishing to OCLC: Enrich LHRs Using OCN Instead of MMS ID for Unchanged/Deleted Holdings

    OCLC processes incoming Local Holding Records (LHRs) by applying a 'replace all' mechanism. If WorldCat has three holding records for an OCN and the library sends just one holding record, WorldCat will replace the three existing holdings with the single incoming holding.
