Acquisitions API - Interested in user – add other identifiers in addition to Primary ID
Currently Alma allows multiple identifiers to identify ALMA Users, however the Acquisitions API (Interested In users) mapping only allows “primary_ID”.
We’d like any other identifiers used in Alma also be allowed in the mapping (e.g. Email Type). If this is added on the API parameter, staff can use the less sensitive info instead on vendor site.
Noting that adding other identifiers in the Interested_User api parameters - is only doing what EOD acquisition workflow/mapping can already do.
It is cumbersome for staff having need to search the requester’s primary id to be able to use this feature.

Allow Alma users to choose the match routine when using the ‘Link to Community’ tool to link portfolios to a community zone collection.
The ‘Link to Community’ match routine for matching local portfolios to the CZ is too restrictive. We would like to be able to use our local bibliographic records and have them link to portfolios in the CZ, however, the match rate is dependent on what metadata is available in the CZ records, which are often brief and do not contain the ISSN/ISBN match point that Ex Libris has selected for that collection in the CZ.
Alma users should be able to choose the match routine when using the ‘Link to Community’ tool, similar to how we can choose the match profile when managing an import profile. At minimum the ability to choose between ISSN/ISBN or 035 Other Identifier would be an improvement. This would allow us to analyze the CZ vs Local records to find the best match point to use when linking our full records to CZ portfolios attached to brief CZ records. The ‘Link to Community’ match routine for matching local portfolios to the CZ is too restrictive. provide means to access our Alma and Primo data via our own analytics tools
we need to analyse and combine our data with data from other systems that are in use at the university. extracting data from Alma in a meaningful way is way too cumbersome to be useful. all methods that I am aware of are based on an Analytics report, and have restrictions on numbers of rows that can be exported at one time. E.g. we would need to compare data from our reading list system (which we can access using an ODBC connector despite the system being SaaS) with print and electronic holdings in Alma and their usage. I do not particularly want to go down the route of duplicating our Alma holdings in a local repository. When I contacted ExLibris support about possible solutions I was asked to add this to the ideas exchange.

Allow institutions to configure their own Packaged PO approval rules
Could we please be provided with an option to disable or configure the auto approval rules of POs containing non 'Purchase/Purchase no Letter' POLs.
Institutions currently only have control over PO Line level approval rules in Alma and PO rules are limited as per the documentation - https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/020Acquisitions/020Purchasing/060Approving_and_Sending_POs
"A PO with PO Lines that are not one of the following Acquisition methods will not go to Waiting for Approval:
• Purchase
• Purchase No letter"Providing us with the option to configure these options ourselves or via support requests to include/exclude specific acquisition methods will give us more flexibility to implement finance workflows more suited to our institution's needs opening the wider possibility of finance integrations particularly using API connections. This will be of benefit to those using both standard import profiles and EDI in Alma and those using Real Time Ordering via API.

Allow edits to POL Bib Descriptions on Cancelled POLs
We want to be able to edit the POL Bib Description fields on cancelled POLs without having to reopen the POL. Reopening a cancelled order on a closed ledger causes complications, especially if the fund doesn't exist in the current ledger. It would be better for your users if we could just edit this tab without impacting the POL status. Thank you!

API allow quantity for pricing in POL creation
We use the adquisitions API to duplicate POLs. When we are creating a new POLs based on a existing ones.
We get the original POLs json and we make some changes on it to send it again in order to create a new one.
If the POL has more than one items to be ordered (quanity for pricing field), the api ignore it and put always a 1.
The problem is that the Alma make some calculations with the amount field and the fun percentage changes, so the POL amount increases and is not the correct amount. In order to solve the problem we ask to accept the "Quantity for pricing" information when the order is created by API.

Adding newly registered patrons to the 'Recent patrons'-list
Being able to see patrons entered in a session is very useful, but it would be great if the recent list also included new patrons registered during the session.
Often times, patrons for instance request registration before they find the books they want to borrow. If we could easily access their patron services page when they return with them, it would streamline the process.

Access Student Photos Securely
Currently, user photos are only available via a web link https://myurl/photo/studentidentifier.jpg. This means that all student photos need to be available over the internet which in the UK is a Data Breach. There needs to be a way that only the student in question or an authorised staff member can see the photo. It is not possible to use 3rd party software like Azure to do this as the cross-site scripting protection gets in the way.

Include "On Hold Expiration Date" to "Physical Items"
Please include the "On Hold Expiration Date" from the Alma Physical Items Search to the Analytics field "Physical Items"
To elaborate upon why this is needed:
A title was ordered on February 8th. The "Hold Shelf expiration date" is set for February 23rd. According to the terms of use, 10 working days are correctly taken into account. However, the "Days on Hold Shelf" value displays 14 days, as weekends and holidays are included in this calculation. This discrepancy naturally makes it difficult to rely on, as the number of weekends and holidays within the pickup period may vary. We need a value that displays the value that correlates with the ToU (open days).

Send activity report should include NZ items
Send Activity Report should include NZ items
As a library that is part of a large consortium, many of our patrons have both local and NZ items checked out. When in a patron's account, there is the option to send them an "activity report," however, those emails only contain a list of locally checked out material. Sometimes we like to send these as reminders to patrons, but patrons are often confused that they only contain the IZ items. It would be very useful for us if these reports could include all checked out materials from our NZ partners as well in one, comprehensive report.

Display Number of Renewals information under ‘Other Details’ of a Physical item
To enhance the circulation service and provide convenient access to usage information, we suggest displaying the renewal information including ‘number of renewals’ and ‘last renewal date’ under the ‘Other details’ section of a physical item in Alma. The number of renewals records how many times the due date of a loaned item was extended before the ‘maximum renewal period’. This figure is often essential to measure the usage and understand patron’s intention to continuously keep the loaned item.
In current release of Alma, the information under ‘Other details’ of a physical item shows usage information for circulation such as loans, request, etc, but it does not have ‘renewals’ information (please see the attachment). Library staff is advised to create an Analytics report to retrieve ‘renewals’ information on Analytics platform.
To streamline the process and provide faster access to information, it would be beneficial to have ‘number of renewals’ and ‘last renewal date’ to be displayed directly under ‘Other details’ of a physical item in Alma. This would enrich the display of usage information under ‘Other details’ and further improve the circulation service."
We kindly request considering this suggestion to enhance the functionality of Alma and provide library staff with more efficient access to valuable usage information. Thank you!

Add Locked Process status to completed jobs
Currently EDI jobs complete and then tables lock for updating to complete through out Alma. This leaves other similar jobs stuck in the queue as Pending for several minutes.
Under this change instead of a completed job that locks tables being moved directly to history it would get an additional status in the Running jobs area. This status would let users know that the job had completed, but that Pending jobs would not be starting.
We have had ongoing issues where staff confusion resulted from a job completing, but the next job staying in Pending for 2-10 minutes. After much consultation with support this proved to be because the previous completed job had locked processes on the backend. This lock was automatically lifted and the Pending processed started, but not until after the confusion had occurred.Currently EDI jobs complete and then tables lock for updating to complete through out Alma. Making the temporary location change before the loan

Desable default "Assigned to Me" in the new Review PO line list
In the new Review (PO line) list, the default Assignment is "Assigned to Me". It would be beter that the default Assignment is deactivate here.
In some libraries, the PO Lines are centralized and managed by specific person/service and not by the PO Line creator/assignment.

User Record Templates
It would be great if the library could create "templates" for different types of user records that automatically fill in things like the User Group and that have different required fields depending on the type of template. This would make it easier for staff to create user records on the spot.

Modify column size in search results
We would like to be able to modify the width of the columns for search results in Alma. The collection status (in the "Item Availability" column) can be difficult to read for some records, which forces us to open the record to read it properly.

Lending Ship item physically check item barcode matches title
When staff use "Ship Item Physically" from an individual request, there is no check that the item barcode entered into the Ship form matches the item barcode for the title. Staff can accidentally scan a barcode for a different request.
Because the item barcode is already in use, the other request can't be Shipped.
Adding a General setting to check that the item barcode matches the located title would help prevent workflow errors.

Add Block for Resource Sharing Shipping from Scan-In Items
Alma allows an institution to set rsallowactionsonscan_in to false. When a staff person tries to Receive or Ship a resource sharing request from Scan-In, the staff person sees a pop-up message advising them to use Alma Receiving or Shipping.
When Scan-in Items is used on a lending request that should be shipped, a pop up message displays that “Shipping is required to be done from the dedicated screen, Are you sure you want to continue?” There is a “Cancel” or “Confirm” option. If the staff person chooses “Confirm” and scans the item barcode again then another pop up displays asking if they want to continue with the message “Scanning in item (scanned barcode provided) will complete lending resource sharing request (external identifier provided). Are you sure you want to perform this action?” The staff person is given the option to “Cancel” or “Confirm”. If the staff person selects “Confirm” the request is completed for the lending and the borrowing library.
This enhancement request is to add block preferences for Ship of a lending request using Scan-In that are similar to the options available for Receive of a borrowing request. If staff are blocked from using Scan-In Items for lending requests this will prevent the accidental closing of a lending and borrowing request.
There is an option to block the Receive of a borrowing request using Scan-In https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/030_2016/07June_2016/Alma_June_2016_Release_Notes/05Resource_Sharing_-_June_2016_Enhancements
We would like a block preference to be added for Ship of a lending request similar to the block on Receive of borrowing requests.
Possible settings for block of Ship of lending request from Scan-In Items:
· Block- The pop-up warning appears and the Ship may not be carried out.
· Override by Manager- The pop-up warning appears and may be overridden by users with manager roles.
· Handle Automatically- The pop-up warning does not appear and the Ship action will be carried out automatically, with the appropriate actions taken to handle the resource sharing request. This is the default option.
If the block is overridden, the following actions take place:
· The lending request status is updated to Shipped Physically.
· The Ship ISO message is sent.
· The item is placed in a temporary location.

Ful Resource Request Slip Letter split in two
We would like the Ful Resource Request Slip Letter printout to split in two: one letter for staff when picking material from stacks, and one for use on the hold shelf for end users to see. These two functions are difficult to combine since staff need to know who the requester is at the same time as GDPR makes anonymization of the hold shelf slip necessary.
We currently try to solve this by using the Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter as the hold shelf slip. But this printout is meant only for staff and so is printed in the interface language of the staff. We have users in many languages and need both Swedish and English printouts.
An extra complication occurred when we tried to stop the system from printing the Ful Resource Request Slip Letter for certain locations. We found “Request Pickup Configuration” and the “Show in 'Pick From Shelf' list parameter”. When trying it out it seemed to do what we wanted, the requests did not show up in the ‘Pick from shelf’ list. But when we tried this live in Alma, the “Ful Resource Request Slip Letter” was printed. The “Show in 'Pick From Shelf' list” parameter only does half of the job, the request is not shown in the list but the printout is generated.
We asked support and the answer was that “the printing is expected unless you deactivate the slip. The request does not go into a pick from shelf status, but the slip is expected to be used not only for pick from shelf but also as a hold shelf slip".
