  1. Notes for display logic rules

    We would like a notes tab in the Discovery Interface Display Logic rules screen. We have over thirty rules, and some are inactive. We would like a way to record some notes as a record of our decision-making for this quite complicated area.

  2. Enable configuration options to only prevent renewal of overdue loans (while keeping non-overdue loans renewable)

    It isn't possible to prevent renewal of overdue loans without using a block, which also prevents renewal of non-overdue loans.

    We would like to be able to prevent loans that have become overdue from being renewed for the purposes of a TOU switching between term and vacation loans. During the vacation we have no maximum renewal limit and this means that previously overdue loans become renewable again.

  3. Ability to add invoice line by scanning ISBN or Barcode

    Manually keying invoices, especially for LOTE books is difficult when you can't easily use the ISBN or shelf-ready barcode to bring up the POL to create the invoice line. The title on the invoice supplied by the vendor rarely matches how the title is imput in Alma in the POL, so that is an unreliable data point. ISBN and Barcode should also be options for searching for Order lines in a basic Order line search.

  4. Item Statistics Notes fields - choose controlled/not controlled individually

    At present it is possible to choose for all three of the Item Statistics Notes to be controlled (i.e. select field contents from a drop-down list) or for all three not to be controlled (i.e. free text).

    This is restrictive and inflexible. It would be preferable to be able to choose field by field which are controlled and which are not, i.e. have some of the Statistics Notes free text and others controlled.

    It used to be possible to memorize frequently used function options, but now they have disappeared.😢

  6. Display 'suppressed bib' icon consistently in every Alma context.

    I'm looking at a list of portfolios in Alma, many linking to suppressed bibs. None of those portfolios whose bibs are suppressed display the 'eye with a line through it'-icon (which should also maybe include alt text for screen readers?)

    How about making suppressed-ness sticky throughout the UI, with a baked-in rule to protect exceptions. (ARE there exceptions?)

  7. Ability to pin and fix the facet in authorities search

    It would be great if the search facet in the authorities search could be pinned and fixed, so you don't have to click and expand the facets every time you want to filter on a specific vocabulary

  8. Readability of the Predicted items menu for daily and weekly serials

    When predicted items are generated for the current year, daily and weekly serials get several pages of items.
    It is then very difficult to find in the list the latest issue to receive. It would be helpful to have some options, for example only display the 5 or 10 latest items.

  9. Retrieve associated collections by MMS ID

    In the Alma API there should be an end point to input an mms id number and return all collection ids associated with that ID number.

    This functionality already exists for e-collections (GET /almaws/v1/bibs/{mms_id}/e-collections) but no such functionality exists for regular collections.

  10. Internal Identifier number included on Resource Sharing letters

    We want to be able to add a requests Internal Identifier number to the Resource Sharing Shipping Slip letter & the Resource Sharing Receive Slip letters, as a way to clearly and consistently identify a request. Because the external ID can change over the life of a request, we will often refer to the internal ID instead. It's useful to have this on the shipping and receive slips because 1. If the partner or patron needs to communicate with us they can quote the ID number, and 2. this paperwork often remains with the item when it comes back to…

  11. When running a Remove local coverage indicated, set Which coverage statement will be applied to "only global"

    When running a Change Electronic Portfolio Information job with "Remove local coverage" indicated, in addition to removing all local coverage information, also set the portfolio's "Which coverage statement will be applied?" field to "Only global."
    Leaving it as one of the local options incorrectly marks the portfolio as having local information if it is listed in the Community Zone Updates Task List.

    Currently, after users input their query in the search box, they need to manually click on the content to select it. However, we aim to automate this step so that once the query is completed, the relevant content is automatically selected. Additionally, we intend to provide users with the option to toggle this feature on or off.

  13. Functionality to manage unique URLs for NZ local collections

    In instances where there is no CZ collection for an e-resource, we have to create Network Zone local collections in Alma to allow our consortium members to discover and access the content in Primo. However, we are not able to do so if each member has a unique access URL for the resource.

    We would like to see functionality in Alma that would allow us to manage unique identifiers for URLs for each member in NZ local collections.

  14. Add a column option to the Service Availability Rules in General Electronic Services for the rule's Output Paramters (IsDisplay True/False)

    Currently when I'm in a General Electronic Service (GES), and I click on the "Service Availability Rules" tab, I can see the table list of rules. The only way to see if the IsDisplay is set to true/false is to go into each rule individually. Please make it a column in that rules table list so I can see the output parameter of IsDisplay in the list without clicking on each individual one. Even if it isn't in the default table list, please make it an option I can choose.

  15. Add Activation Status to the Funds Expenditure Area in Analytics

    We want to be able to create more complex data retrievals of our eresources based on activation status and filter these by various facets such as fund code. We have thousands of portfolios and it's not feasible to search for these on Alma when an analytics report would take seconds to create. For example, I was asked to provide a quick report listing every Journal we have on our largest budget code with an activation status of "Not activated E-Resource" by fiscal year.

    In our library patron accounts for Alma are imported from an external patron registration system, including Job categories. Nice. But in Alma the Job category is not shown in the Manage Patron Services screen. We would like to have it show.

  17. Generate barcodes in batch

    Alma can be configured to generate a unique identfier in the barcode field of the item record one record at a time. Once the configuration is set, the unique identifier can be created by clicking the Generate button or simply by clicking Save.

    It would be very helpful for Alma be able to generate sequential unique identifiers for each item in a set by running a job. That way, we could create a situation where each item in Alma has a unique identifier, either a real barcode number for a real barcode attached to an item or a different unique…

  18. Immediate notification of fine/fee when item is returned

    Per Ex Libris documentation and techs, Alma can't currently send a fine/fee notification letter to a patron as soon as an overdue item is returned; this is only done on a scheduled job once per day. However, in cases where a patron can't return to the library on short notice, it would be helpful for them to be informed of any outstanding fines or fees as soon as possible in case they're able to resolve it during a visit when they returned such an item.

  19. Resource Sharing visible in Primo even if the user aren't logged in

    When we started using the Resource Sharing form in Primo we noticed that it's only visible for users that are logged in. It would be preferable to at least have the option to make the button for Resource Sharing to be visible even for user that haven't logged in yet. A solution would be that a prompt for logging in would appear either when you click on the button or when you press send. We are afraid that many users will miss the option to order resource sharing because they haven't logged in yet.

  20. Add statistics notes and physical condition fields to Scan In Messages Configuration table

    Information about the physical condition is sometimes important when loaning items. It would not be necessary to duplicate information in other fields.
