  1. Folders in "Manage sets"

We would like the option to make folders in "manage sets". This would make it easier for different depatmants to navigate through the public sets of the institution.

  2. Retain recall overdue fines even if the request is cancelled

When a request is cancelled, we would like the fine incurred for an overdue recall to remain in place (for the days up until the recall is cancelled) to deter customers from keeping a title that may be required by others. Currently, overdue fines disappear from manage patron services when a request and the recall is cancelled.

  3. Expand coverage of the 'single' ISBN and ISSN fields in the Analytics 'Titles' subject area

The fields 'ISBN Valid Single (Normalized)' and 'ISSN Valid Single (Normalized)' in the 'Titles' subject area are useful for matching purposes. However those fields only cover ISBNs/ISSNs from MARC bibliographic field 020a. Sometimes we're looking to match Alma records to sources which might use older identifiers, that appear instead in 020z, 776z, 022l, 022a and/or 776x respectively in the Alma records. Those MARC fields' contents are reportable in the general 'ISBN' and 'ISSN' Analytics fields, but those Analytics fields don't provide each identifier on its own row. Additional, expanded versions of the 'ISBN single' and 'ISSN single' fields (perhaps named…

  4. Display Additional POLs in Search for Electronic Collections

I'd like to be able to see at a glance when I look up an electronic collection that there are multiple POLs attached to that collection. Currently, Alma only displays the main PO Line in the search. I've attached an image to show an example. There is only 1 order showing attached to ProQuest News Policy & Politics Magazine Archive, but we do have an additional POL attached to the collection. I'd like this number to be "2" and when I click on it, I see all the associated POLs. Thanks for considering!

  5. Alma TPRS integration Resource Sharinng - request bib / request fields missing

Currently there are a number of fields not mapped correctly for TPRS-ALMA integration.

We would like this to be enhanced. See #08113211

    ====ISSUES==============
Subtitle field data entered in TPRS not appearing on the Alma side.

Missing values for Author initials and Additional Person Name.

(Borrowing) Book Request (Alma borrows from TPRS) - Alma sends Data "Place of publication", this value did not land on (TPRS)?

  7. Add the Work Order Types sorting option

    Hi Everyone,

We're working on our Work Order types and departments to get a better overview of items under repair and others in libraries. I can't figure out how the WO types are sorted in the fulfillment desks, they seem to be randomly placed when I add them!

The issue is about the sorting of work orders types in a circulation desk. I made video captures I can share if you like. As you can see on it I added 3 work orders type to a circ desk and I can't understand their sort in the circ desk parameters.
    And…

  8. Enable creation of individual patron blocks for loans of specific material types

If an institution needs to prohibit an individual user from borrowing a particular type of resource temporarily, e.g. placing a temporary ban on laptop loans for that person, then there is no way to block them from borrowing items of that specific material type without preventing them from borrowing everything else as well. As a result, we are unable to apply blocks in exceptional circumstances, such as with our laptop loans service, because the block would be disproportionate and prevent the user borrowing any physical items at all. The only workaround would be to have a ‘Blocked’ user group configured…

  9. Power BI access to Alma & Primo Analytics

Many libraries are using Power BI to analyse the suite of library services they offer. Data is derived from the library management system (LSM/ILS) but also chat services, reading list software, library guides and more.

Though Ex Libris has developed analytics in Alma, libraries need to analyse their data in the tools of choice.

Can Ex Libris open analytics so a direct connection to Power BI can be made without the need for intermediary workarounds, e.g., https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/blog/microsoft-power-bi-connecting-to-alma-api/?

  10. Allow "personal delivery" for "interested users" of a POLine

For library patrons who make use of the "personal delivery" feature for requests (be it distance-learning-students or employees working from home), it should be possible to have items delivered when they are "interested users" in a POLine. Currently, the pickup location for the request always is the circulation desk of the item’s location, as specified in the POLine.

For librarians, this creates the need to find workarounds if we want to offer patrons good service via personal delivery to their homes/places of work. Worse, erroneously scanning such an item at the the circ desk creates a pickup notification, confusing distance…

  11. Resource sharing partner letters preferred language

Please add the option to select a preferred language as a parameter when adding a partner's email address. This would make communication easier with partners from abroad who have an email profile.

  12. Subject headings's in Analytics

"Subjects" in analytics (6XX MARC fields) are all jumbled up in one index. This creates a problem for analysis of correctly applied LCSH subject headings (our focus). AND, 2nd indicator signifies the type of subject heading, such as LCSH "0"; NLM "2"; etc. Currently, working with the subject index, it is impossible to filter for the type of subject heading needed in an analytics report, even though the MARC variable fields contain this data. Therefore, it would be very useful to filter for the types of subject headings we would like to see in a report, without losing recall (i.e,…

  14. Correct closed fines/fees

Sometimes fines/fees are paid with the wrong fine/fee types or payment method.

We want to be able to correct this information even if the fine/fee has a closed status. This will make accounting and statistical reports more accurate.

We want the same functionality as for blocks.

  15. Prevent vendor deactivation if open purchase order lines exist

Even though there are current purchase order lines linked to a vendor, the vendor can be deactivated with a single click.

For our institution, this plays a role in automatic claiming, where a claim letter is generated and sent once the receiving date has been exceeded, although the vendor is set to inactive.

It would be very useful to reject the deactivation of the vendor if there are open purchase order lines attached. An error message should be displayed indicating that there are open purchase orders linked to the vendor.

We would prefer this message not to be overridable, but…

  16. Support MARC 956 thumbnail images in Alma Staff Interface

    Description:

Currently, Alma Staff Interface does not display thumbnail images originating from MARC field 956, even when these thumbnails are correctly displayed in Primo VE through thumbnail template configuration.

At the moment, Alma Staff Interface only displays cover images resolved through internal mechanisms such as:

    ISBN-based cover services (MARC 020)
    Digital representations
    Internal cover enrichment services

This creates an inconsistency between Primo VE and Alma Staff Interface.

    For example:

A thumbnail image linked through MARC 956 appears correctly in Primo VE.
The same record in Alma Staff Interface continues to display only the default placeholder icon.

    It would be very…

  17. Order it! styled button for creating Purchase Order Requests

I stumbled upon the "Order it!" feature, which worked amazingly well. However, it then creates the purchase record instead of sending it to be assigned for approval. Having a request feature could make the PO request workflow seamless and help where there a limited number of people creating requests.

  18. Allow All MARC21 Fields Valid for Subfield $5 to be Saved as Alma "Local Extensions"

    The Problem:
Alma’s current "Local Extension" model restricts local data to a hardcoded subset of tags (09X, 59X, 69X, etc.). This forces libraries to choose between keeping standard local data in the Network Zone (where it risks being overwritten) or moving it to non-standard local tags.

When standard data (like a 700 donor name or a 655 local genre heading) is forced into a 9XX or 69X field, it breaks standard Primo indexing. We lose the ability to have this critical local data indexed in standard Primo indexes.

    The Solution:
Update the Alma Metadata Editor and bibliographic validation rules to…

  19. Alma as a linked entity User Interface

The Alma backend comprises a large bunch of linked entities of different types like title, holding, request, item, report, ... However, on the user interface side theses links and references often are only displayed implicitly. We propose to make these references explicit. Example: The list of requests shown in "Monitor Requests and Item Processes" display a MMS-ID as well as (in certain cases) an Item ID. In order to view the respective title or item entity one has to copy the ID and paste it into the title, respectivly item search. We propose to add a "one click link" for…

  20. Receiving queue - continuous, claim status and last issue collected

I am an acquisitions librarian at a legal deposit library. We have nearly 9000 active subscriptions and we often want to look at the status of other active POLs by the same vendor when receiving. It would be helpful to see in the receiving queue the receipt status of a POL at a glance, rather than having to go into manage items. This would be whether the POL has overdue items (is in claim); and the description of the last issue collected.
