Support file exchange via Odyssey
While we are able to send and receive files with other Alma, Rapido, and RapidILL libraries via RapidX, the resource sharing world is much larger than these three systems. While ExLibris talks about supporting interoperability, we are not yet able to receive files using the file sharing method dominant among our peers, even though its platform is open source. Odyssey is a major player in the library secure file exchange world, and while we stress to our partners that they need to send non-returnables to us via other methods, often folks forget, deliver via Odyssey, and assume the request is…

Improve user blocks functionality to prevent resource sharing requests for users who have resource sharing loans overdue
Within Alma, it is possible to configure blocks that ensure users who have items on loan and overdue are unable to place any more requests until the items have been returned. However, it isn’t possible to apply blocks in a more granular way, such as to prevent a user who has resource sharing items on loan and overdue from placing any more resource sharing requests. It is not our library policy to prevent users with items on loan and overdue from requesting anything else until they have returned their overdue items, so we cannot apply blocks to encourage people to…

Allow individual process types for detailed borrowing rules.
It would be helpful to enable the individual process types to configure detailed borrowing rules. We have created several process types for items, such as "Searching," "Cataloging," and "Request on Hold." However, in the fulfillment unit rule parameters, these process types are grouped with the system-generated "Acquisition Technical Services" under the "In Process" category. Consequently, we cannot select them individually as parameters, which prevents the library from setting detailed borrowing rules for specific process types.

Folders in "Manage sets"
We would like the option to make folders in "manage sets". This would make it easier for different depatmants to navigate through the public sets of the institution.

Retain recall overdue fines even if the request is cancelled
When a request is cancelled, we would like the fine incurred for an overdue recall to remain in place (for the days up until the recall is cancelled) to deter customers from keeping a title that may be required by others. Currently, overdue fines disappear from manage patron services when a request and the recall is cancelled.

Add the Work Order Types sorting option
Hi Everyone,
We're working on our Work Order types and departments to get a better overview of items under repair and others in libraries. I can't figure out how the WO types are sorted in the fulfillment desks, they seem to be randomly placed when I add them!
The issue is about the sorting of work orders types in a circulation desk. I made video captures I can share if you like. As you can see on it I added 3 work orders type to a circ desk and I can't understand their sort in the circ desk parameters.

Power BI access to Alma & Primo Analytics
Many libraries are using Power BI to analyse the suite of library services they offer. Data is derived from the library management system (LSM/ILS) but also chat services, reading list software, library guides and more.
Though Ex Libris has developed analytics in Alma, libraries need to analyse their data in the tools of choice.
Can Ex Libris open analytics so a direct connection to Power BI can be made without the need for intermediary workarounds, e.g., https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/blog/microsoft-power-bi-connecting-to-alma-api/?

Prevent vendor deactivation if open purchase order lines exist
Even though there are current purchase order lines linked to a vendor, the vendor can be deactivated with a single click.
For our institution, this plays a role in automatic claiming, where a claim letter is generated and sent once the receiving date has been exceeded, although the vendor is set to inactive.
It would be very useful to reject the deactivation of the vendor if there are open purchase order lines attached. An error message should be displayed indicating that there are open purchase orders linked to the vendor.
We would prefer this message not to be overridable, but…

Receiving queue - continuous, claim status and last issue collected
I am an acquisitions librarian at a legal deposit library. We have nearly 9000 active subscriptions and we often want to look at the status of other active POLs by the same vendor when receiving. It would be helpful to see in the receiving queue the receipt status of a POL at a glance, rather than having to go into manage items. This would be whether the POL has overdue items (is in claim); and the description of the last issue collected.

Alma Show Access Type value (e.g. Perpetual ) in Alma brief view search for Electronic Collections
Please show Access Type in Alma brief view search for Electronic Collections.
Access Type is quite important, since it may be not only Current but also Perpetual or Current and Perpetual. From the brief view many operation, included deletion, can be performed. Having this information at first glance, if possible together with a warning on deletion attempt as suggested here ( https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/42179845-prevent-deletion-of-portfolios-with-access-type-pe ) may help preventing accidental deletion of important perpetual assets.40 votes -
Creating an invoice via the POL
Creating an invoice via the POL
Would it be possible to have a "create invoice" button/option within the POL via the invoice line tab. This would make creating invoices from PO more streamlined. Currently creating invoices "from PO" involves accessing approximately 5 screens. My idea would only require locating the POL, clicking on the invoice line and then selecting a button to create invoice

Allow Dynamic Fields (e.g., Current Date) in the Subject Line of Email
Hi Team,
Currently, the Borrowing Activity Letter subject line is controlled entirely by a label provided by Alma, rather than through the XSL template. Because labels only support static text, it is not possible to use dynamic values—such as the current date—in the subject line.
This creates a limitation for institutions that send periodic Borrowing Activity summaries. Many libraries want to include a date (e.g., "Your Borrowing Summary – March 10 2026") so that patrons can easily distinguish one report from another. However, because Alma does not evaluate XSL or variables in label-based subject fields, dynamic values cannot be used.…2 votes -
Add an API endpoint to send email via Alma
Library Open Workflows support sending email using the Alma Mail node, but this uses an internal API that is not usable outside of LOW. It would be really useful if this could be made generally available so that other applications and scripts integrated with Alma could benefit from sending emails through the Alma mail setup instead of having to configure email separately via SMTP, etc with all the resulting spam-filtering issues.

Enhanced customization for patron cards (contact information pop-up)
We suggest the option to customize fields in the patrons’ visitor cards to enrich the Contact Information Pop-Up with institutional relevant data from the patron’s account, for example the language of the patron. At this moment, the available fields cannot be edited nor can new ones be added.

Quick Links and Keyboard Shortcuts in the Metadata Editor for Enhance the Record Normalization Processes
As a cataloger, I want to create quick links and keyboard shortcuts for normalization processes in the metadata editor, instead of selecting them via "Enhance the record", so that I can work more efficiently.

Import Profiles - support mapping to E-Collection
See https://enhancements.exlibrisusers.org/ideas/AENH-I-36318
We need the ability to map to Electronic Collection. Because you cannot map to E-Collection, you have to have a separate profile for each collection for which you want to load portfolios. This dramatically increases the number of profiles we need to maintain. In addition, this requires more staff to have the ability to modify import profiles, even though the only thing changing each time is the collection name.
Mapping either the collection name (exact match) or the collection ID would be sufficient. This will enable more uniform loading of records.

The ability to share private jobs/sets individually without going public.
It would be very helpful to be able to share sets with specific individuals or with members of a particular department, without making them fully public. This would be especially useful when testing sets or presenting work to a supervisor or department head.

Display access model in All-titles basic search results
When you are performing a market search, the access model shows up on the holdings records if they are either attached to the POL or have been manually added to the record. This is incredibly useful and time-saving for searching! When doing an All-titles search, you have to click into the record in order to access that information. This line for access model can be easily added to the listed metadata in the All-titles results page. See attached screenshot
