  1. See the same information in Monitor Requests & Item Process menu that is seen in Borrowing Requests menu

    It would be helpful to see the same information in the different places a staff member might check to see the status of a patron request. In the attached document, you'll see that there is much more useful information in the borrowing requests menu, including the preferred pickup location which is a critical detail. Can we have the same info display in both?

  2. Generate accession number by typing directly in field 852

    Generation an accession number in 852$$h or $$j can only be done by using the menu (Tools -> MARC21 holdings -> generate accession number), or by keyboard shortcut (ctrl+schift+A) in the new MDE.
    Even though the keyboard shortcut saves some clicks, we would like to type the prefix directly in field 852, followed by a character like # for example, that would indicate to Alma to generate the sequence number after saving the holding record.

    Example : 852 $$b library $$c location $$h RIA #
    -> after saving the record :
    852 $$b library $$c location $$h RIA 6785

  3. Visibility of extension packs and possibility of selecting them one by one for editing and/or deleting

    Extension packs once added to a local MARC-based profile are not visible and cannot be retrieved in any way. It would be much better if each extension pack loaded to a bibliographic profile could be visible to system admnistrators in order to be downloaded from bibliographic profile for purposes of editing and reloading, should the need arise. This feature was part of the tentative future developments proposed by Ex libris back in 2017 (see: internal: 2017 Q1 URM-45100)

  4. A new design for the homepage of ALMA

    It would be really lovely if the homepage to ALMA was colourful and bright with easy access to the major functions we use in the library. For example there could be a homepage that has different bubbles (5 in a circle with one in the middle for example) and people can drag and drop their 6 most used icons. For library assistants this would be super useful if we could open ALMA and instantly be able to issue / return books / search for a service users name / card number for easy access.   5. Show "Open for Update" override enabled

  7. Ability to remove/hide the "Liable for VAT" checkbox from all vendor records

    Institutions that do not use VAT should be able to configure their vendor records so that the "Liable for VAT" checkbox does not appear.

  8. Permanent physical location for items in process

    We have found that when working through items in process/Monitor physical item requests that the permanent location is not included when exporting to Excel. This is very inconvenient when a staff member is trying to locate the item.

  9. Ability to remove default suppressed filter from resource locate

    When using resource locate within reading lists to link a citation to a title the default search filters out suppressed title records.

    This could be changed by adding mms_tagSuppressed to the Locate Citation By Fields table (Fulfillment Configuration > Courses > Locate Citation By Fields). Allowing it to be disabled.

    This would be useful for us as we regularly use suppressed records where the physical item is not held but a representation of a chapter or article is and the representation will not be discoverable by primo. This prevents a title with no holdings appearing.

  10. Make address fields one of the searchable fields in user searches

    Addresses on a patron record (at least the preferred address fields) need to be a searchable field in the universal search box on the dashboard.
    We often find a need to on the fly find all the patrons who might come from a particular address.

  11. Ability to send an email from User Details - General information although the user is restricted from editing

    Our patrons are restricted from editing. Now with this setting librarians can't send e-mails from the General information - User Details page. It would be helpful to enable sending emails for librarians from the General information - User Details page to all patrons (users restricted from editing and also for non-restricted).

  13. List of Home Delivery Request to print labels and inform courier company

    We manage a big number of home delivery requests. Alma does not allow you to create a list of loans of home delivery to print labels and send the list to the courier company.

    The only way to do it is the day after by Analytics or developing a custom solution using webhooks and users API, to have it the same day.

    It is necessary to make a list of patrons name, address, zip code, city, telephone and email address to print labels and create a csv file to be imported to the courier company software.

    We can't wait a day to print…

  14. Digitization Requests - remove 'next step' from process

    When managing Digitization Requests after 'Scan In', there is an obligatory 'Next Step' which has to be selected before getting the option to 'Attach documents' (and get the status from 'Digitization' to 'Document delivery'). Is it possible to remove this 'next step' from the Digitization process?

  15. Add filter to Vendor Invoices tab

    I would like to be able to limit the invoices I see on the Invoice tab in the vendor records to a specific time frame or add a filter to have the ability to select the fiscal year of the invoices in the list.
    This will allow me to only see truly historic invoices when and if I need to.

  16. Allow patron to create "Alias" that prints to Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter

    When item that has a request is returned at the circulation desk, a Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter is printed. There is a Patron name on the Print.
    There should be a possibility for a Patron to choose an "Alias" (Name or Number) that would be printed to the Letter.

    This could be an Address -field that patron can update in Primo. Then it would be printed to the slip letter.

  17. Allow automatic barcode generation in quick cataloguing form from Manage Patron Services

    The quick cataloguing form has a variant depending on whether you access it through Fulfillment > Manage Patron services > loan tab > create item or through Resources > add a physical item.

    In the first case (Fulfillment > Manage Patron services etc.), quick cataloguing is used in the case where a document is presented for loan but does not exist in the database. The barcode is then obligatory for loan, otherwise loan is not possible. The barcode cannot be automatically created.

    Hello,
    Please see our public ticket 00903860.
    If you make a query containing the field "Physical item historical events->Event end date->event end date and time" with the conditional "event type description=physical item went into transit" on this field is NOT registered the end of transit process, but the start of the following process (if any). Please correct this behaviour.

  19. Correct article level target links for records without assigned volume or issue numbers

    For example, we see erroneous records (without working linking/availability) that are published ahead of print and which do not have specific volume/issue numbers. Until the publisher updates this information Primo links are directed to an error page.

  20. Make the Send Message emails more customisable

    Today it is possible to send messages to individual users from the General Information tab on the User Details screen, but the functionality is very basic. To be truly useful it should be possible to create your own templates and to customise them the same way we can customise Alma Letters. Without the usual letter components, such as a header with the institution logo, which are present in other Alma letters, the messages look unprofessional and can easily be mistaken as spam.
