  1. New Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter for Physical non-returnable

    The current hold shelf request slip letter only handles regular RS requests (books etc), but is not generated when a RS request is created and received as physical non-returnable.

    We would like to see an improved functionality to support this material type, so a slip is created as with any other request that are placed on hold shelf. It could either be an improvement to the existing letter, or a new letter entirely.

  3. Make Push Selected to MDE button available for Itemized Sets

    'Push Selected to MDE' (pushing records in bulk to Metadata Editor) is not available for Itemized sets, but it is available for Logical sets in the current Alma implementation. While the option to Push Selected to MDE is plainly visible in the Logical Set Results view (please see the attached screenshots), it is replaced by the 'Remove Selected' button in the Itemized Sets Members’ view.   4. Show 'chapter/article title' and 'chapter/article author' in completed digitization requests and in Analytics

    For copyright reasons, we need to track whether users have requested an article from an issue or a chapter from a book from which they have already received a scan.

    Completed digitisation requests in Alma do not show the chapter/article title or chapter/article author, only the overall title requested. The data is not available in Analytics either.

    This means that we are reliant on a local spreadsheet to track what users have already requested.

    We would like to see the data available on the completed requests and in Analytics.

  5. Show Interested User name directly in the PO Line list when receiving new material

    Currently, for PO Lines with interested user(s), we can only see a green "V" in the PO Lines list when receiving new material in the Acquisition Department.
    Since we increasingly use Purchase Requests to order new material, we almost always have IUs in the PO Lines. These IUs can either be patrons or staff members.

    We'd like to be able to see straightaway the IU's name(s) when receiving, either directly or when flying over this green "V".

  6. Allow default filter settings in searches to be customised

    Dear creative minds,

    There are many search bars in ALMA that have default filter settings. Depending on personal preference and work tasks, the default is not always practical. Time and time again I need to change the filter settings to my particular preference or need. Not efficient in terms of mouse clicks and time!

    This issue is conspicuously time and click-consuming when one tries to add a closed PO line to a portfolio, collection or associate it to another PO line. The default filter is set to 'Active' PO lines, so closed PO lines will not be searched. One needs…

  8. Enable the ability to associate vendors

    Similar to associating POLs, it could be useful if it were possible to associate/link vendors to each other. It would enable organizing individual vendors (mostly access providers) under broader vendors (billing agents, IP Registry, etc) and consortia.

  9. Addition of DOIs and Proprietary Identifiers as Title Identifiers to Analytics Criteria

    In Analytics within the Subject Area "Usage Date" the "Book DOI" (Counter R4 Reports) or "DOI" (Counter R5 Reports) are not selectable as Title Identifiers.

    The same is true for "Proprietary Identifier" (Counter R4) or "Proprietary_ID" (Counter R5).

    Since this information is sometimes listed in the corresponding columns of the COUNTER Book reports, it would be helpful if this information could also be retrieved in Analytics.

  10. Include Item Description in the ASRS Remote Storage Update Job

    When an item is added into the ASRS, Alma's Inventory Remote Storage Update Job sends the following item record fields to our Dematic EMS system:

    • Item barcode
    • Call number
    • Author
    • Title

    This is described in the Developer's Network documentation here: https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/alma/integrations/remote_storage/asrs/

    We would like to have the item description field added in addition to the call number since it holds the volume and other essential enumeration information.

    Not having the volume and enumeration information in our Dematic system makes it extremely difficult to inventory a journal series, or locate an individual volume in the Dematic/EMS software.

  11. Create a scan in message when a call number is inadvertently changed using change item information

    Add a Scan in message when an items call number has been changed through Scan in items> Change item information, when the call number field has been left blank.

    This could be an optional message enabled through "Scan In Messages Configuration" where you could select either none, pop up message or feedback message.

  12. When a hold expires, have them display in the task list

    In the same way that requests show in the task list, it would be helpful that when the hold is expired that it will also show in the task list. People would see on their desktop if an item needs to be shelved or returned to a campus library, instead of remember to check the Expire Hold shelf.

  13. Add Option to Toggle User Record Type

    Add a simple toggle option for a user record to easily switch Record Types between Staff and Public. While there are more complicated ways to deal with it, if a user record is accidentally created and assigned the wrong Record Type there is no easy mechanism to change it, like we can when toggling an account between Internal and External.

    When changing the format of a record using the App, we would like the original Creation Date to be transferred to the History tab of the new record. Currently, the Creation Date is the date the App fixed the format.

    When looking at the list of sets on the Manage sets page, it is sometimes necessary to click into the Set Details to view the description or notes to make sure that it is the correct set that I want to work with. To then view the members, it takes three more clicks: 1) go back to the manage sets screen 2) right click or click the ellipsis button 3) click the members or results option on the dropdown menu.   17. The Lost item process fee (aka Lost item fine) should be automatically removed when an item is found.

    The Lost item process fee (aka Lost item fine) should be refunded when an item is found. Currently, only the Lost Item Replacement Fee is refunded. This requires staff intervention, having to manually waive the fine. This is not always caught when books are returned through the drop slot, for example. It causes confusion for both patrons and staff when a fine remains on a patron's account for an item that has been found.

  18. Ability To Search Invoices By Payment Status

    We would like the ability to search invoices by payment status. This is important to us because we bulk export invoices (XML), one campus at a time. For example, we need to be able to check that all invoices in Ready to Be Paid status are of one campus before we send to the integration.

  19. Allow lending RS locate process to fail if it cannot determine which volume from a multi-volume set is being requested

    Currently, Alma's lending locate process will automatically select a single volume from a multi-volume set if it can't determine which specific volume is being requested in a title level lending reqeust. It often selects the incorrect volume, and that error is rarely caught before the incorrect volume arrives at the borrowing library. It would be very helpful if the lending locate process failed in these scenarios rather. That would give library staff the opportunity to manually review the reqeust and select the correct volume.
