  1. Ability to report on inventory for citations

    We would like to analyse print and electronic inventory for citations for a single or multiple reading lists. We're interested to look at reading lists with high or low print/electronic inventory so that we could engage with reading list owners e.g. for lists with high amounts of print we may want to look at the addition of e-book versions of the titles.

  2. Add "PO Line Owner" as an input parameter for Purchase/Invoice Review Rules

    Adding "PO Line Owner" as a parameter for Purchase/Invoice Review Rules would allow differentiation by location. Our main library uses student workers for ordering, and I want to be able to have review rules in place to catch potential mistakes. Our satellite location has one staff person doing all the acquisitions. These same review rules will be cumbersome for their workflow. Having separate rules allows each location to operate most efficiently.

  4. Provide fulfillment configuration utility information in an API response

    Currently, testing configurations requires manually pasting information into the Fulfillment Configuration Utility and then reviewing output.

    It would be much more helpful if an API could accept a list of users and barcodes and return the output of the fulfillment configuration utility - names of the matched rules, or names + policy values. That would allow for much more robust and efficient testing of configuration.

  5. Overdue lending requests - sort by overdue-date

    In regards to overdue lending requests, it would be very beneficial to have the option of sorting by due date. By sorting this way, you could tackle the documents that have been kept out of circulation the longest first, with one (or two) clicks.

    Per 13.05.24, the options we can choose from in the "sort by" drop-down menu are:

    • Last interest date
    • Update date
    • Creation date
    • Title
    • Shelving location

    There are toggleable due-date spans in the facet menu. A sorting function would still be beneficial.

  6. RS - show more fields (such as Note) for Partner when using Add partner

    When selecting a Partner in Resource Sharing Borrowing Request , one can only see 4 fields (see attachment) for the Partner. It would be useful if other fields, such as Note , might be enabled. There are many criteria and information helpful when slecting a partner, and in the real world they are often saved in the Note field, and this field should be visible at the step of selecting the partner.

  7. Linking several Electronic Collections to one PO line from within the order

    In Alma it's possible to link several Electronic Collections to one PO line. This is very helpful for us. To do so you can just write the PO line number in the field PO Line in the Acquisitions and License Information in the Electronic Collection Editor. But there is no way to do it vice verse, to link the order to multiple electronic collections from within the order. This would be very important for us, especially for those cases where the Electronic Collection is not in our IZ but in the NZ, so that we are not able to edit…

  8. Allow license on NZ - managed electronic resources to be viewed by member institutions in their IZs

    For electronic resources activated in the Network Zone where access is distributed to member institutions in the consortium, license terms attached to the e-resources cannot be viewed in the IZs of member institutions. License terms can be viewed by institutions only by searching Primo VE, only if "Enable Display of License Information" is enabled in their Fulfillment configurations. This is not an optimal way to search and view license terms for these resources are shared via the NZ.

  9. Update Email Records Letter XML to use tags instead of metadata

    Currently, the EmailRecordsLetter.xsl file has to use the <metadata> tag in EmailRecordsLetter XML. This prevents libraries from being able to customize the display of the emailed record.

    EmailRecordsLetter XML should have tags similar to other letters, like <title> and <mms_id>. This would enable libraries to customize and create a professional, modern email.

  10. Ability to make bulk bookings in Excel and import (similar to updating calendars in Excel)

    We use the booking feature for student study rooms, but occasionally some (though not all) of these rooms need to be booked off for special events, i.e., convocation, reserving time for reference interviews, etc.

    Our library could benefit from the ability to create these bulk bookings in Excel (copying/duplicating rows) as we would when updating our hours of operation.

    Excel columns might include the barcode for the room, the barcode for the special patron account we use to block off rooms as needed, dates, start/end times, and a yes/no for whether the booking may override normal booking rules/restrictions.

  11. Make it possible to choose to which Work Order Department an item goes after receipt (not just Acquisitions)

    We have noticed that our real-life workflow doesn't align well with Alma's behavior regarding receiving items. In practice, when we receive an item, it promptly moves to a different department – transitioning from acquisitions to the catalog department. In Alma, however, achieving this requires manual department adjustments each time an item is received. While we are familiar with options such as "keep in department," "shelf ready," and work orders, none of these options yield the desired outcome or contribute to streamlining the process.     Send Activity Report should include NZ items

    As a library that is part of a large consortium, many of our patrons have both local and NZ items checked out. When in a patron's account, there is the option to send them an "activity report," however, those emails only contain a list of locally checked out material. Sometimes we like to send these as reminders to patrons, but patrons are often confused that they only contain the IZ items. It would be very useful for us if these reports could include all checked out materials from our NZ partners as well…

  13. Add "Rule details", "Terms of use", and "Fulfillment Policy" as shared descriptive dimensions with Fulfillment subject area

    We would find it very useful to be able to report on fulfillment activity as tied to configuration. For example, we'd like to be able to report on items that allow unlimited renewals versus items that allow renews but limit the time frame.

    From what I can tell, only the loan length is included in the Fulfillment subject area, but the terms of use information is in the Configurations (Limited) subject area. But, we cannot do a multiple subject report without them being shared dimensions in Fulfillment. It would be very helpful if they could be added.

  14. Include MARC leader in General Electronic Services Bib Fields Enrichment

    The addition of bib fields enrichment for general electronic services has been helpful in creating service availability rules for GESes, but there is no way to configure enrichment based upon content in the MARC record leader. This is where primary resource aspects are noted, such as record type, bibliographic level, and whether a resource is under archival control. Being able to use this criteria when displaying or hiding a service would be much easier than the convoluted and imperfect workarounds we've resorted to.

    Alma does not currently offer the ability to use Analytics to identify user notes that are set to pop up. We would like to be able to more easily identify these notes that are set to pop up to prioritize them during a user note clean up project.

  16. Vendor Communication will not send without PO Line Attached

    As an Alma Administrator at Kettering University, we would like the ability for the 'Acquistions>Vendors>Communications tab' area to send emails to vendors without a PO line attached. Currently, correspondence will not be sent if you try to email a vendor without an associated PO Line. This will help us keep vendor correspondences more streamlined and structured, eliminating the need to download personal emails to PDF format and upload them.

    Not all communications we have with a vendor will be order-based. Does anyone know of any fixes or backend settings allowing those to be sent? We were informed at the Support…

  17. Add Close Note to the Change PO Lines Status job

    We would like to add a Close Note when running the Change PO Lines Status to Close orders. Currently we can add a Cancellation Note but if we CLOSE a batch of orders (essentially cancelling continuation orders that have had receipts), there is no way to add a general note that populates all order lines. We have to manually add a note to each order.

  18. Improve Shelf Report functionality and responsiveness

    Alma’s “Shelf Report” tool is a cumbersome, involved “inventory” process that requires users to populate a spreadsheet with barcode values, feed it to Alma, and then track down and manually identify any items that come back as an error (without Alma providing a timely or clear explanation for where a problem item might have been found if it was detected, or not detected). We’re aware of Dean Lingley’s API for “shelf inventory” and the WRLC “AlmaInventory” tool that attempt to cover some of these gaps, but neither of these replicate the same mass-scan-immediate-feedback-fix-it-and-move-on utility (without involving spreadsheets, macros, etc.) that…

  19. Add pickup library code to On Hold Shelf Letter (FulPlaceOnHoldShelfLetter)

    In our consortial environment we are maintaining a public list of libraries. The patrons can see the library contact information there for each library in our network - https://libraries.swisscovery.help.

    We would like to add a URL link to this list to specific pickup library where the user has to pickup the title mentioned in the On Hold Shelf Letter (code FulPlaceOnHoldShelfLetter).

    Unfortunately, the pickup library code is not available in the letter XML. There are pickup library name (request/deliveryaddress) or combination of library name and circulation desk name (request/calculateddestination_name). But these are not suitable for URL linking.

  20. Not "Notify user" when canceling a "Patron physical item request"

    In most situations we don’t want a request cancellation to be sent to users when we cancel a patron physical item request (Ful Cancel Request Letter). But since the checkbox “Notify user” is checked by default, the letter often gets sent by mistake, resulting in users thinking they will not receive the requested material, when in fact they will. We want the checkbox to be unchecked by default. Maybe this could be a configurable option in Alma (whether the checkbox is checked or not) so that each library can decide this for themselves?
