  1. Analytics recover the fields in the original configuration language in ALMA

    ALMA is configured for Spanish-speaking countries in Spanish, so Analytics reports are required to generate data in the same language in which the original fields are configured.

  2. Addition of the Accrued fines field in the Fines and Fees subject area in Alma Analytics

    It would be great if there was an option in Alma Analytics to create a report with a list of people with a specific amount of accured fines if they had returned overdue documents on a given day (the day before actually).

    Converting Borrowing requests into patron physical item requests
    has been implemented in 2019 (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/010_2019/Alma_2019_Release_Notes?mon=201902BASE).
    Request Note is copied in the Note field of the request.

    However it would be great that, after a successful 'View local resources' the request note could also be copied to a Note field in the "Ful Cancel Request Letter" automatically received by the user, thus letting the user know more specific info we usually write in the request note.   4. Immediate notification of fine/fee when item is returned

    Per Ex Libris documentation and techs, Alma can't currently send a fine/fee notification letter to a patron as soon as an overdue item is returned; this is only done on a scheduled job once per day. However, in cases where a patron can't return to the library on short notice, it would be helpful for them to be informed of any outstanding fines or fees as soon as possible in case they're able to resolve it during a visit when they returned such an item.

  6. Pop-up message for activating / deactivating the patron’s identifier using the slider

    To activating or deactivating the patron’s identifier, it can be done by toggling the slider to “blue color” (i.e. ON) or “gray color” (i.e. OFF) under the tab ‘Identifier’ of the patron account in Alma. The attachment shows the screen capture. Once, the slider is toggled, the identifier will be activated or deactivated immediately. The “Cancel” button on top right-hand corner (“red rectangle”) has no effect to turn it back to the old value after toggling the slider.

  7. Ability to add Request Note during Scan In to Work Order Deparment

    When performing Scan In on items to a Work Order Department, we have the ability to Set Status To our congigured status options, but no ability to add a Request Note, as we have if we were creating work order requests for some other Department.
    If we want to include a Request Note (to be included on any subsequent transit letters, for example), we then have to go into each entry in Manage In Process Items, locate the request that was created by the Scan In, and input a Request Note.

  8. Enhance the comprehensiveness of Analytics of usage analysis

    For some vendors, it may have sub-databases in the subscriptions and collect usage for a particular database and the titles within seems not possible currently by Analytics. Though there’s a “Platform” field in Analytics, it did not separate the figures between different databases for a single vendor. It's strongly recommended to enhance the comprehensiveness of Analytics and enhance the functionality of usage analysis.

  9. Exporting invoice lines with multiple funds

    This is a known issue. According to an article of April 2023, "When POL is paid with 2 funds, and invoice is created, the export to Excel of the invoice lines only contains the 1st fund." It would be nice to have all funds included on the Excel file for better fund analysis and reporting.

  10. Display Number of Renewals information under ‘Other Details’ of a Physical item

    To enhance the circulation service and provide convenient access to usage information, we suggest displaying the renewal information including ‘number of renewals’ and ‘last renewal date’ under the ‘Other details’ section of a physical item in Alma. The number of renewals records how many times the due date of a loaned item was extended before the ‘maximum renewal period’. This figure is often essential to measure the usage and understand patron’s intention to continuously keep the loaned item.

  11. Lost in Transit Items Alert

    I would love it if we could get an alert sent to the task list widget for staff in charge of fulfillment when an item has been in transit too long ("too long" as defined by the institution could be set somewhere in config settings). This would then alert the staff member to check shelves, and if not found on local shelves, contact the other institution to ask them to check theirs. If the staff member alerted wanted someone else to follow up on things, they could assign it to another user.

  12. Need job to force POLs out of Claims status

    Over the years, many items of all resource types have fallen into Claims for one reason or another. For the purposes of cleaning up records, Alma should have a job that enables Acquisitions managers to force POLs out of Claim status, even for closed fiscal periods or POLs that are closed. The inability to move an item out of Claim due to it not following the strict receiving process is very inconvenient and makes the Claims function almost useless when its so cluttered.

  13. Ability to change barcodes directly from the list of items (under Receive – One time / Continuous - Manage items)

    In the list of items in the receive screen it looks as though barcodes are editable directly from the list, this is not the case, as you manually must edit each item to change the barcode. It would mean less clicks if you could edit the barcode directly from the list, it would also be less confusing since it in the current design looks as if you should be able to do this. In the current design you can edit the text in the barcode field in the list, but any changes are not saved.

  14. Ability to aggregate claims to one vendor should be made available for Legal deposit

    For the acquisition method “Purchase” the letter “PO line claim letter” is used, for the acquisition method “Legal deposit” and “Legal deposit - without letter” the “Legal deposit claim letter” is used. For the “Purchase” acquisition method an additional claim letter is available “PO Line Aggregated Claim Letter”, which in the event of there being more than one claim to the same vendor aggregates these into one letter.   15. Disable Electronic Activation Tasklist

    It would be helpful to have the option to disable/enable the electronic activation tasklist. Whether or not the tasklist is incorporated into local workflows, the tasklist continues to grow with resources as they are ordered from the community zone. This leads to a very bloated tasklist with no clean way to clear items from the tasklist (i.e. resources that have already been ordered and received/activated remain on this list).

    In a case with ExL (06794492) it was confirmed that items from the tasklist cannot be cleared in batch and each resource needs to be manually deleted.

  16. Library level patron limits configuration

    It should be possible to configure the Patron Limits table at the library level. Only Max Cash, Max Overdue and Max overdue recalls should be configurable, so that each library will be able to control when it starts blocking patrons independently of one another.

  17. Add information regarding level URL clickthroughs to Analytics

    Currently only clickthrough for portfolios are being captured in Analytics. It would be great if level URL clickthrough's in Electronic Collection could also be captured.

  18. Interface field "Admin Documentation" - Extend default display size

    The Interface field "Admin Documentation" contains often a lot of text which covers several rows.

    In order to read the content of the field more quickly without scrolling, It would be helpful if the default display size of the field could be extended - ideally to four rows instead of two.

  19. Enable setting of Personal Delivery Locations from Resource Sharing Form

    In November 2023, The following was developed for holds based on this Idea Exchange suggestion Allow users to enter an address for home delivery – Have an idea for Ex Libris? (exlibrisgroup.com) We would like to have the same functionality available for the Resource Sharing Form as well. Our consortium policy allows for home delivery of materials from another's library. Obviously, this might not be welcome for all but without this functionality, we cannot see it being feasible to turn on this functionality for just local requests.

  20. Add column options to 'Receive New Material' / receiving dashboard

    Add more column options to the 'Receive New Material' page / receiving dashboard: expected receipt date and vendor name. Others have previously suggested brief level and item policy.
