  1. NACSIS-CAT Could App: Enable English output in NOTE field when converting 336/337/338 fields for records with 040 $$b eng

Currently, when converting 336/337/338 fields to a NOTE field in Alma --> NACSIS-CAT mappings, the output uses Japanese vocabulary regardless of the cataloging language. For records with 040 $$b eng, we request that the NOTE field be generated using English vocabulary to match the cataloging language.

    Example:

Expected output for 040 $$b eng:
    336 $$a text $$2 ncrcontent
    337 $$a unmediated $$2 ncrmedia
    338 $$a volume $$2 ncrcarrier
→ NOTE: Content Type: text (ncrcontent), Media Type: unmediated (ncrmedia), Carrier Type: volume (ncrcarrier)

    Current output:
→ NOTE: 表現種別: text (ncrcontent), 機器種別: unmediated (ncrmedia), キャリア種別: volume (ncrcarrier)

    This enhancement would ensure consistency…

  2. Enable conversion of English vocabulary in NOTE field to 336/337/338 fields for records with 040 $$b eng

Currently, the system supports conversion of Japanese vocabulary in the NOTE field (e.g., "Content Type: text (ncrcontent)") into structured 336/337/338 fields for records with 040 $$b jpn,. However, a similar conversion is not applied to records with 040 $$b eng, even when the NOTE field contains English vocabulary in the same format.

We request that the same conversion logic be extended to records with 040 $$b eng, so that:

    Example:
NOTE: Content Type: text (ncrcontent), Media Type: unmediated (ncrmedia), Carrier Type: volume (ncrcarrier)
    -->
    336 $$a text $$2 ncrcontent
    337 $$a unmediated $$2 ncrmedia
    338 $$a volume $$2 ncrcarrier

    This…

  3. Make the physical_condition field in the item record available in the xml of the Loan Receipt Letter

We would like to display information in the Physical Condition field of the item record in the Loan Receipt email. To do so we would need this to be available in the XML. Can this please be included?

  4. Move API management into Alma admin functional area

Management of APIs is currently managed via the developers network portal, which does not support institutional SSO, and barely supports MFA (email-only tied to one email address).

Moving the management of the Alma/Exlibris APIs into the Alma/LMS admin interface would bring the management of the Exlibris APIs into an environment that supports SSO and more granular permissioning in line with current Exlibris/Alma best practice, and ensure access is consistent with each institutions authentication/authorisation requirements. This would also require Exlibris to create roles specifically for API management/administration.

This would provide a more secure and better experience for Exlibris customers, and provide…

  5. Display statistics note labels in Analytics

Controlling item statistics notes is optional in Alma. We have controlled our statistics notes and would like to have the option of displaying the more human-readable descriptions in Analytics reports rather than the raw codes. This is how for instance statistical categories work in Analytics--you can display the code or the description. Institutions that have not controlled statistics notes could have null descriptions, or the description could be the code.

  6. Separate_patron_notifications_by_library (extend to all Patron facing letters!!)

The following letter/emails are supported by the Separatepatronnotificationsbylibrary feature :

    https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/030Fulfillment/015Fulfillment_Library_Independence#Patron_Notifications

However, two important patron facing emails are missing here!

    • the patron welcome letter!! -> This is the FIRST letter you send to a patron. In times of spam and phising preferably coming from a (the same) sensible library from address as the other letters.
    • reset pw letter!! -> Same here - please make sure this has the same from address. You need to be able to trust this email!

  7. Add "Linking Information" with direct URL to activated CZ portfolios for view in IZ

Add the ability to see an e-resource's direct URL (not the parser parameters) to the IZ view of activated community zone portfolios (similar to the "Linking Information" button/box that appears in the CZ view of a list of portfolios).

  8. Add a filter to remove consortia-specific e-collections from CZ search results OR remove consortia from "Interface" facet

It would really improve the CZ search experience (when looking for the right package from the large publishers of e-journal/e-book packages) if there was a way to toggle off the results from all of the consortia-specific e-collections. For large publishers like Springer, the consortial results completely overwhelm the search results.

OR, at the very least, to separate consortial names from the "Interface" facet - these consortial names aren't actual interfaces - the links in these collections go to publisher platforms. Would it be possible to tag the consortia name in some other way? In a new field?

  9. De-duplicate Brill "interfaces" in CZ

There are currently three separate Brill "interfaces" when one searches for Brill e-collections in the CZ - Brill, Brill Online Reference Works, and Brillonline. Would it be possible to de-duplicate the Brill e-collections so that everything appears under a single Brill interface?

  10. Allow Resource Sharing Request status as displayed in user account to be customizable

When viewing resource sharing requests in a patrons account the system truncates the request status description. For example status of Ready to be sent is truncated to Ready. Desk staff (not always those who work directly with RS requests) see Ready they assume the item is available for pick up. While we can train staff given the large number of staff and turnover, ensuring everyone knows and retains the information about what those truncated status descriptions mean is a nearly impossible task. We would like to be able to customize the display for our library to use language that makes…

  12. When editing an item – show only valid item policies for a chosen location

We suggest that the drop-down list of item policies only display item policies that are valid for the chosen location. At present, the drop-down list for item policy in the physical item editor shows all item policies available in the system, regardless of whether they are actually in use for the chosen location or not.
Or the system should display a warning when selecting an item policy that is not used for the chosen location.

  13. No automatic cancelling of request when changing item location (or a more useful error message).

When we change location for an item we always get an error message that says that the change can lead to requests being cancelled (if there are any). But since it always shows, even when there are no request (which is most of the time in our experience), it is easy to ignore.
We would like to be able to choose if a request should be cancelled or not, even if the new location shouldn’t allow requests for the user.
Another possibility is that that the error message only shows when it is relevant and there actually are requests that…

  14. pick from shelf Ability to see multiple libraries

Make it possible to see and pick from shelf options from multiple libraries without changing physical location in Alma. Currently, to view pick-from-shelf options from multiple libraries, you must change your physical location. It would be better if we could see all pick from shelf requests in one place.

  15. 【NACSIS-CAT/ILL Cloud App】We would like to request that prefix matching search, similar to WebUIP, be implemented in the Cloud App as well.

Unlike Western books, Japanese titles are not displayed word by word, so prefix matching search is frequently used.
Therefore, it would be very helpful if prefix matching search could be enabled, as it is in WebUIP.

The following three prefix matches are possible in WebUIP but not in the Cloud App. Could you please adjust the system to enable prefix matching search?
    (1) Cloud App “NACSIS-CAT/ILL” > Catalog > Book Bibliography
    (2) Cloud App “NACSIS-CAT/ILL” > Catalog > Journal Bibliography
    (3) Cloud App “NACSIS-CAT/ILL” > Catalog > Uniform Title Authority

    Thank you in advance.

  16. Add RVMFAST authorities to CZ

Please consider adding RVMFAST to the list of controlled vocabularies mainted in the CZ by Ex Libris.

For French and bilingual institutions in Canada, RVM is an essential tool. While the main RVM authorities are available only to subscribers, RVMFAST is a freely available French translation of the FAST vocabulary. The authorities and updates are available for download from RVM's website (https://rvmweb.bibl.ulaval.ca/rvmweb/rvmfast/supplements_rvmfast.do?locale=en). Adding RVMFAST to the list of controlled vocabularies managed in the CZ would save institutions the work of maintaining local authority files and enable easier adoption.

  17. Add ability to sort by due date

In certain circumstances, such as when working with renewals or overdue books, we are looking specifically for books with certain due dates. However, currently the system does not allow us to sort sets by due date, and this can make the requests we need to work on hard to find. Adding the ability to sort by due date will save staff time and frustration.

  19. Add "Job category" in the expandable requester's info label in the RS request.

We would like to have a requester's "Job category" (Department) listed in the expandable requester's info label in the RS request (see the picture attached).
When a request is unfilled the Document Delivery staff send a notification message to the relevant department mailbox straight from the request via “Send query to patron”.
Currently, we must open the requester's account to find out their department then go back to the request to send a message. This is very inconvenient.
It would be useful to make the label modifiable to let a library to create the label by selecting only parameters necessary…

  20. View members or results button from Set Details page

When looking at the list of sets on the Manage sets page, it is sometimes necessary to click into the Set Details to view the description or notes to make sure that it is the correct set that I want to work with. To then view the members, it takes three more clicks: 1) go back to the manage sets screen 2) right click or click the ellipsis button 3) click the members or results option on the dropdown menu. It would be really nice if on the Set details page there were a button to view either the members…
