See also fields for vendor names
Many of our vendors change names from time to time so it would be great to have a searchable "see also" or "formerly known as" field in the vendor record for a vendor's previous names.

Optional Campus Restriction on Personal Delivery
PROBLEM:
If an institution has multiple libraries and campuses and provides hand delivery of items to faculty offices, when a faculty patron requests personal delivery of an item from another library the item will be routed to the closest circ desk that support campus delivery, even if that circ desk is located miles away from the faculty patron's office.PROPOSED FUNCTIONALITY:
As a fulfillment manager, I want to be able to configure Alma so that the personal delivery option can be restricted to the user's campus, so that items requested from another library will be routed to the circ desk…2 votes -
Feature Request: Enhanced Reporting Capabilities for Alma Analytics
Hello Everyone,
I am reaching out to gather insights or suggestions regarding a feature enhancement I would like to see in Alma’s Analytics module. As an institution, we heavily rely on Alma for library management and its robust analytics capabilities. However, we have encountered some challenges with the current reporting options, particularly when it comes to customizing and automating reports.
Currently, while Alma offers a range of predefined reports and queries, our team often needs to create customized reports that pull data across different modules or require specific filtering, which isn’t always straightforward. It would be incredibly helpful if there…

Add Reporting Code 4 and 5 to XML Invoice Export
Currently only Reporting codes 1, 2, and 3 are included in the invoice XML that is exported from Alma. This has been confirmed with Ex Libris.
It would be useful to include the other 2 reporting codes as well.

Link POLs to EDI invoice lines using Identifier field
When loading EDI invoices from a vendor that do not include POL information, use the Alma Identifier field (usually the ISBN) to match the EDI invoice line to the POL.

Arrow keys now 'stick' in fields in MDE
When navigating through records in MDE, if you've previously typed anything in a field, you now cannot move out of that field using the arrow keys. It's not entirely consistent and sometimes does let you move out the field, while other times it 'sticks' randomly in fields you haven't edited at all, but in general it is extraordinarily inconvenient.
I see using the arrow keys to move within a field was previously suggested as a feature, but even within that suggestion, the idea included the stipulation that if the cursor was already at the start/end of a line hitting up/down…

ALMA interface - Why unnecessary steps to edit a holding?
Dear colleagues, regarding Alma interface, it would be highly useful that the option EDIT HOLDINGS had a 1-step shortcut. It is pretty annoying to continuously click 3 times to open de item in order to work on it. Thank you for your attention.

Option to disable circulation desk operator to waive fines/fees for themselves
We have student workers to perform waiving fines/fees activities. We'd like an option disable certain circulation desk operators' ability to waive fines/fees for themselves.

Implement Checks on the Authority Heading Type for Institutions Using ID-based Authority Control
Currently, when authority linking in Alma is based on ID rather than text, Alma does not check whether the authority heading type in the bibliographic record matches the heading type in the authority record. For example, Alma will link a 600 tag in the bib record for personal names with an authority record whose heading is in tag 110 for corporate names if their ID matches, even though Alma would not offer that option if F3 were pressed.
We would like Alma to (1) avoid linking in such cases and (2) flag these instances in the authority control task list.

Add a parameter to manage suppression of unheld purchase requests
Currently, when a bib record is created for purchase request for a title not held by the library, it is automatically suppressed by default. We would like the option to make these records visible to users so they can place holds and track availability. Please introduce a configurable parameter that allows us to control whether such requests are suppressed or displayed.

Make the "License ID" visible in Alma
My team was trying to investigate ways to make sets for a project regarding our licenses and thought using the License ID would be great, but it's frustrating since we can't even see what the License ID actually is unless you find it in an Analytics report and search for it. In Analytics, you can add a column to show the "License ID", but are unable to view that in Alma. I think if it's viewable in Analytics and it's also a searchable field in Alma, it would make sense to make it an option to view in Alma as…

User Requests Should Pop or Be more Visible for Cataloguers
When cataloguers are processing new books or fixing bibliographic records or item records, there is no notification that a user has requested the item we are working on. We won't know to give the item to Fullfillment so that they can put the item aside for the user.
I know there is a little number that indicates there is a request, but for new books ordered in there is already 1 request from Acquisitions. This does not pop-up and it is just a little number that you can barely see in the results screen. It should be much more obvious…

There should be a renew option for items checked out to a patron if patron is present with items checked out
I think there should be a Renew option so that you do not have to scan an item's barcode search your location then search for the barcode. In Sierra there is a renew option where you just scan item barcode and renew it without having to search or go into patron's account.

Add Electronic Collection Type (override) to Analytics
We use the Electronic Collection Type field to keep track of whether we have all portfolios activated (Aggregator Package), only some activated (Selective Package) or none activated (Database). Using an Analytics report we can check these values against our Auto Active Settings and CDI settings to make sure all our settings are in alignment.
However, there is no Electronic Collection Type (override) field in Analytics so the reports cannot be accurate. We use an override when we have selected a Type that is different from the Type in the CZ collection. It seems like an oversight that this field isn't…2 votes -
schedule job api support "Reload & Delete"
Currently there are api interface to trigger running of schedule job. However there are situation where OAI repositories does not support tracking deleted items, therefore, the current solution is to update import profile harvest start date and run "Delete & Reload" manually from time to time. We would like to suggest to include support to update import profile parameter and running of "Delete & Reload" job.

Possible to build a workflow into Alma to accomodate third party WCAG compliance?
UK Libraries are monitoring this as individual institutions - could Alma build a workflow to flag electronic resources that meet / are working towards WCAG compliance? If details are stored (Yes/No) and links to URL compliance statements users could then use Analytics to report on progress and perform annual updates with suppliers to meet our responsibilities. Perhaps to save each Institution handling it themselves? https://www.jisc.ac.uk/guides/accessibility-regulations-what-you-need-to-know

To improve Alma
we could focus on enhancing user experience with more intuitive navigation, better mobile optimization, and personalized tools. Feedback-driven updates and clearer communication channels would also go a long way in making the platform even more effective.

Sort collections by creation/modification date
It would be very helpful to be able to sort collections in the Community Zone by creation date, modification date, and total activations. Some collections (especially older ones) are not well maintained, or newer versions are added without older versions being removed. Being able to sort collections by creation date or modification date would help to be able to select the most updated collection. It would also be beneficial to be able to sort by the total activations, as the ones with the higher numbers are more likely to be the best one.

Currently when a new order is created for an existing standing order, with "Assign inventory manually" checked, the user has to create the POL then exit before entering the supplier, price, fund code, and other information.
The POL then has to be linked to the holdings, which is an entirely separate process. Only when this is done can the necessary order information be entered.
Allowing the user to link to existing holdings as part of creating the order would make this a much more seamless process.2 votes -
Ability to add invoice line by scanning ISBN or Barcode
Manually keying invoices, especially for LOTE books is difficult when you can't easily use the ISBN or shelf-ready barcode to bring up the POL to create the invoice line. The title on the invoice supplied by the vendor rarely matches how the title is imput in Alma in the POL, so that is an unreliable data point. ISBN and Barcode should also be options for searching for Order lines in a basic Order line search.
