  1. Retain Course Reserves info in Alma Analytics

    It would be helpful if the system would retain information about course reserves in Analytics, even after things are deleted in Alma. It would be useful to be able to look back over various terms and see what courses were run and when.

  2. Ability to delete/remove redundant copyright records from the Approval Requests list

    We would like the ability to delete/withdraw or otherwise remove pending copyright approval requests in the Approval Requests list.
    There are a few reasons why a Library may wish to do this:
    -Associated citation has since been deleted
    -Patron digitization request has been cancelled
    -Citations with copyright records that require manual approval were added to the Approval Requests List as part of the rollover. However, some of these units will not be using Leganto and will never submit a reading list.

  3. Enable digital rights statements to be assigned independently of access rights

    We really like the new options for digital rights statements (January 2021 release) so that we can have creative commons licences displayed/linked in the Alma viewer.

    However, in complex access scenarios having copyright statements in a 1:1 relationship with access rights will make this difficult to manage configuration, and for Alma users to filter through all the possible alternatives (likely with similar names) to choose the right one for the representation.

  4. Allow Users to lock preferred panel position for user details and summary panel

    Currently the location of the summary panel for record views and patron details alternates between the right side of the page and the top of the page depending on window size.   5. AFN Fulfillment Network, Add patron's home institution to the fields available on the hold shelf's display

    When an Automated Fulfillment network allows for their patrons to pick up materials at any Institution in the AFN, it is possible for a patron to pick up their item at a third institution, that is neither the patron's home library, nor the item's home library.

    With how Alma currently manages Linked Users, and with the fields available for display on the Active and Expired hold shelf screens, library staff at that third (pick-up only) institution are unable to determine which institution the patron is from.

  6. Extend searchable range of Monitor Jobs table

    The monitor jobs table is useful in tracking and troubleshooting problems. Sometimes it would be really helpful to be able to track certain jobs further back than 30 days, but when you enter a search term while using a date range of greater than 30 days, you get the error message:

    Search is not supported when the date range is more than 30 days.

    It would be helpful to be able to track jobs longer ago than 30 days.

  7. Store information about request history

    It is currently not possible to see whether an item has previously been requested, only that it's checked out. I want (often) to be able to tell: how many times throughout the history of this item has it been requested and in what way (page from shelf, recall, something else). It's super weird to me that this isn't present in the fulfillment history at least, and probably in analytics.

  8. Create run now button for Upload Electronic Holdings integration profiles

    Currently, if the integration for an upload electronic holdings profile fails, you have to edit the profile, click save and run, and then monitor the job.

    Users should be able to right click or use the ellipsis button and choose Run Now from the Integration Profile List for any Upload Electronic Holdings integration profiles.

  9. Ability to run Analytics reports on Alma Configuration settings

    It would be exceptionally helpful to be able to run Analytics reports on all areas of Alma Configuration.

    It should be possible both for each individual library to run the reports on their own behalf, AND for libraries belong to a consortium, possible for consortial staff to run the reports across all institution zones simultaneously for comparison between member IZs.

    Use cases:
    1) Reviewing a spreadsheet containing all of the settings in a configuration area makes settings review easier, and reduces errors. Needing to click between screens and take screenshot to compare settings is cumbersome, and leads to mistakes or…

    • Electronic resources - activation - unassigned (Electronic Resource Activation Task List)

  11. Reflect Community Zone changes in affected portfolios' history tabs

    Alma portfolios in the IZ show a modification date in their history when a change is made based on CZ data. However, the changes themselves are not documented in the portfolio's history tab -- just the fact that a change occurred on that date.

    Some changes are displayed to users in the CZ updates task list, so it's clear that Ex Libris has a way to communicate this at the Institution level.   12. Improvement in Borrowing request search

    When searching Borrowing Requests, we would like the ability to make keyword search and to be able to search for barcodes.

    This would enable staff to work more efficiently, since they would have the ability to search across indexes, and search specific requests with a barcode.

  13. Add Data Type category for the Title Report in COUNTER 5 section of analytics

    The Master Title Report of COUNTER 5 includes ebook and journal titles. It is difficult to use this master report in analytics without having a data type or section type option to differentiate between which titles are journals and which are ebooks. The master title report is useless in analytics without this option. Please add the data type or section type category from the COUNTER 5 Master Title Report into the Analytics Usage Report.

  14. Create formatting for easily readable printing/PDF of Reading Lists and Pick from shelf lists

    Our reserves team would greatly benefit from having a printable or downloadable PDF option of a full reading list. Currently, you can export the list to an excel sheet, but this is not easily readable or convenient for printing/otherwise storing data from past semester's requests. Additionally, it would be excellent if a similar option were available in Pick from Shelf. To pull items now, we need a printed sheet for each book, which is wasteful and redundant.   15. Allow Jobs to Accept CSV files

    There are many instances where we would like to run a job like the change physical items job for a list of barcodes where the variable is not the same for each barcode. For example, I'd like to add provenance codes to a list of barcodes, but each barcode could have one of 15 different codes. So it would be great to be able to upload a CSV or TSV with two columns - one with barcode and one with the provenance code for that barcode.

  16. Enable withdrawing digital representations job based on rep ID and/or file ID

    We have been using Alma Digital for our e-reserve for a couple of years now, and have a need to withdraw representations that are no longer required for courses.

    Since we have different chapters or extracts attched to the same digital title, we need to be able to target via a representation ID or a file ID. Being able to use a set of Digital Files for the job would make this possible.

    Without that the job "Withdraw Digital Representations" would remove all of the reps attached to that title.

    Problem: We are looking for a way to run a cost usage report by fund that includes titles with the PO Line Type ‘Name of Electronic Collection - Subscription.’

  19. Option to Return Items Without Filling Patron Requests

    Items checked in that have patron requests on them are automatically placed on hold shelf and the patron is immediately emailed. Currently Ex Libris allows a delay for the notice for a maximum of 999 minutes, which is often not long enough. Sometimes materials come back that need repair, updates, or to be quarantined. This can take varying amounts of time.   20. Making Copy to Community / Network / Institution configurable

    When searching for authoritiy records, there are options to copy an authority to Network or to Community or even to the Institution zone.

    We understand there may be institutions and consortia administrating different kind of vocabularies at different levels, but this is not the case for all. We see in our consortium too many mistakes due to catalogers selecting the wrong button when importing a record. We therefore strongly suggest making all these options configurable, so that it will be possible to hide the buttons.
