  1. Add electronic collection details to the Alma publishing

Currently both physical and digital collections are published to Primo. Because of this these data elements can be added to the display sections of the Primo UI including the collections facets (courtesy of the Primo back office rules).

Similarly the collection name is published to Primo Central and therefore can be included in the collections facet and full display Details section.

Note: The publishing should also include details showing whether the resource is a Community Zone resource or not. (It may be desirable to only include non-Community Zone collections in the Primo displays as the PCI collections is already displayed).

  2. "Electronic material type originating from Bib" vs "Electronic material type" : a display issue in the Portfolio service editor's list

In an electronic portfolio, there is a field called "Electronic material type originating from Bib" which can be overloaded by another field called "Electronic material type".
The Job "Change electronic portfolio information" allows to update the material type of portfolios into the field "Electronic material type" into a set of portfolios.
If we do so, the material type is not updated into the Portfolio service editor's list... which is confusing.

our request : when the material type of a portfolio has been updated in the field "Electronic material type", ALMA should only considare this material type and display it in…

  3. Include parser override values in it's own column in extended export report

Include parser override values in it's own column in extended export report

It's not possible to view which portfolios in a collection have parser override values. Currently, the value is included in the parser parameters value in extended export reports.

It would be helpful with managing portfolios to have a way to see when a portfolio has a parser override value. That way, we could check on those portfolios and make sure the CZ parser value has been corrected.

Please, include parser override values in it's own column in extended export report or have another way of highlighting when an…

  4. Electronic Coverage Dates should be in a date format and be available in Analytics as such

Currently, electronic coverage dates are considered as strings and not as Dates. We request to treat them like dates and add them to Analytics, in order to base reports on these dates.

  5. KBART export from Alma to include title level URL

As we from time to time need to interface with software and services outside the ExLibris suite, it would be great if the KBART Schema for export would include a proper title level URL as specified in the KBART Recommended Practice:

"[Title level URL] Indicate the URL of the title’s homepage.
For journals, this page should be a listing of the available volumes and issues. "

  6. Electronic Material Types - Need for more options.

Unlike the Physical Item Material Types, Electronic Material Types are limited because they are hardcoded. However, the list that is provided by Ex Libris does not give us enough granularity. For instance, at our institution, we have senior theses that are deposited into our institutional repository. However, when you create the portfolio and select the Electronic Material Type there is no option for either “Bachelor’s Thesis” or a generic “Thesis”. Instead, they only provide “Dissertation” or “Master Thesis” there is no option for a Bachelor’s of Senior project. Therefore, we are forced to select Book which is inaccurate.

    This would…

  7. Allow for searching by Service, Collection, and Portfolio levels distinctly

Repository searching is somewhat vague in what actually gets searched (e.g. Free field & proxy). Some fields that exist in collection & service level are searched but it is not clear in the repository search which level is being searched. Proposing the repository search is more clear in what level & field is being searched AND that the service level is able to be searched as equally as collection & portfolio levels.

  8. Allow data from the POL notes to inform/be inherited by the portfolio notes.

Our Acquisitions process currently allows for receiving e-book purchase option information (platform and use model) from a vendor via POL notes. We would like this information to be inherited by the e-inventory in the notes field of the portfolio. There is currently no way to get that information out of the POL, and it is needed in the porfolio to streamline workflows.

  9. Job and/or API to unlink a set of bib records from the CZ

We would like the ability to run a job or use an API that would unlink a set of bib records from the CZ. There are currently both a job and an API that will unlink records from the NZ, but not the CZ.

Use case: ebook portfolio records provided from vendors can be extremely brief, missing many points of discovery (e.g., no subjects, tables of contents, etc.). When portfolio bibs are linked to the CZ, we are forced to update each of these portfolios one at a time, which is painstaking and inefficient. We already have scripts that use…

  10. Enable batch updating portfolios to update PO line field

Please add a column for PO line to the excel file for batch load updating portfolios. Below are specific examples from the Alma listserv of other institutions describing use cases for why this would be helpful.

  11. Set up Trials for Database-only resources in the CZ

  12. Add " Additional e-mails " fields to " Report to ex libris " form in Alma

In Salesforce the customers can use "Additional e-mails" feature to let colleagues know that they have (already) opened a case for a specific issue. This makes teamwork easier.

For SF cases opened using the "Report to ex libris" feature, this is not possible. Plase add 5 "E-mail 1" - "E-mail 5" as in SalesForce.

  13. Electronic Collection Activation - Ability to specify Inventory groups

I would like to request there be an option to specify inventory groups when activating an electronic collection from the community zone. We actively share our Alma with another institution and utilize inventory network groups. When activating an community zone collection, there is currently no option to specify inventory group(s) the collection (or FT service) belongs to . This causes those portfolios to appear in ALL primo views until we can specify groups AFTER the activation process is finished.

  14. Make View it the default tab when viewing electronic items

Currently when viewing items you can set the electronic & physical tabs to expand by default. However the 'View It' tab/option is hidden in the menu. We don't need to see the portfolios we hold at a glance, we need to be able to view and access the item and it's holdings.

Please add 'View It' to the list of tabs and to the expand options, so we can see what we hold at a glance and have access to it without needing to search for the menu button.

If you could add the holding information for when we only…

  16. In import profiles, ability to specify which 856 $u url is used to create electronic portfolios

Scenario: We manage some electronic collections in Worldshare Collection Manager. OCLC provides bibliographic records with the resource's url in the 856 $u. Sometimes the bib records will include multiple url's but we only want to select a specific one to create our portfolios in Alma.

For example, the Worldcat master record for OCLC 957128084 has 11 856 fields. (See attached screenshot.) Some are institution specific and others belong to different access providers. In such a situation, we want to be able to select the 856 $u url that begins with "http://www.jstor.org/stable" or "https://proquest.safaribooksonline.com".

    In import profiles,…

  17. Electronic Portfolios - can we have a new coverage line where free access can be added ?

At present in the coverage tab, there are the global dates, local, and perpetual (if the collection has been identified as having some perpetual access) Some of these titles have free access, which is not technically perpetual but is also not part of a subscription. Could a new line be added to include these free years/volumes, with the option to display these dates (or not) ? It would allow us to reduce the number of Free collections we have which all take users to the same place, and identify why we have access to journal years outside of our subscription…

  18. allow the use of sets in Overlap and Collection Analysis

The Overlap and Collection Analysis wizard allows two report types: Set Comparison and Selected Titles. Set Comparison only allows you to choose electronic collections, so the name is a misnomer. Selected Titles only allows you to upload a file. Neither type allows you to use the itemized/logical set functionality that already exists in Alma.

  19. Automated holdings data updates for Paratext Reference Universe platform

Reference Universe by Paratext utilizes holdings data files consisting of ISBNs to present users with search results specific to their library's holdings.

According to Paratext, they have recently completed a pilot project where they access a library’s SFX resolver directly and retrieve information on new acquisitions without library personnel being involved at all, once the original protocols are established. This will be great for libraries using both Reference Universe and SFX.

They are interested in establishing this automated holdings data maintenance functionality with other OpenURL resolvers, such as Alma Link Resolver.

Please work with Paratext to establish and optimize automated…

  20. Portfolio Bulk Load file limit too small

The file limit of 10MB is too small. If we're using the Bulk Load, it means we're dealing with very large amounts of portfolios. Having to split those files is cumbersome.
