Limiting the list of Lending and Borrowing requests to the current Owning library
When we go to the list of Lending requests or Borrowing requests (either via the Tasks menu or directly under Fulfillment),
we get requests for both our libraries/campuses. This is the case, even if we have already chosen one of the libraries as our «current location».
When we choose one particular library as the current location it would be very helpful to get a list of request only for this library.
As it is now, we need to scroll down at the bottom of the left-side menu to choose the current Owning library.
Alternatively, if the above solution is not possible, is it possible to move the menu-selection «Owning library» and «Pickup location»
to the top of the menu? We cannot configure this ourselves. When we go to the list of Lending requests or Borrowing requests (either via the Tasks menu or directly under Fulfillment),

a box "holdings" to tick on Electronic Portfolio Editor level
EXL advised us to tick to box "Cancellation restriction" in the POL to mark our journals holdings... even if the feature is at first not what it takes.
Editors require libraries to maintain some subscriptions (holdings) and libraries have to make yearly inventory on these holdings. Our request : a "holdinds" box to tick to be configured on Electronic Portfolio Editor level.

Electronic collections - let notes tab show active for functional notes
When viewing electronic collection/service/portfolio records, the note tab does not show active - a blue triangle in new UX - when content has been added to the functional notes - authentication and/or public. I understand that currently the content indicator "turns on" when content is added via the "Add Note" feature but it would help workflow if staff did not have to click the notes field to discover if authentication or public notes had been added to either collection, service or portfolio editor. Let the notes tab show active whether the notes are functional or internal.

Only send Ful Item Change Due Date Letter for changes to due date
We've run into a real problem with recalls. We can set some items to be recallable, and others to not be recallable. However, both categories get their status changed to "Recalled." Non-recallable items simply don't get a change to their due date. Despite this, patrons who have checked out non-recallable items still get the Change Due Date letter, with a notice that tells them their due date has not actually changed. This letter currently is triggered by recalls with due date changes, recalls without due date changes, other due date changes, or recall cancellations. We think this is too much to cover with one letter, as we don't want to send the notice when there's no date change, though we do want to send it when there is a date change.
So I'd like to propose that this letter be broken out into two separate letters: one for due date changes, and one for loan status updates without due date changes. That would allow us to deactivate or activate as desired.

Limit in house use entry through Scan in Items
Alma records In House use via "Scan in Items" module and whenever item that is not on loan checked in. I would like to see a setting that will allow "In House use" to be registered only by Scan in Items. There are numerous occasions where staff may check in items but it is necessarily "in house use" by patrons.

Ability to customize Discovery display labels for work orders down to the status level
For Discovery display labels (labels in Primo), all work order types (fulfillment, bindery, and acquisitions) are controlled through the following two customizations:
1) c.uresolver.getit2.itemlist.status.WORKORDERDEPARTMENT.
withexpected_date In process of {0} until {1} (where 0=Work Order Type, and 1=Work Order Days to Process)2) c.uresolver.getit2.itemlist.status.WORKORDERDEPARTMENT.
withnoexpecteddate In process of {0} (where 0=Work Order Type)So, currently, we cannot customize down the the statuses setup (local to us) under the work order departments, but this would be helpful to do. For instance, we have fulfillment work orders with a status of Trace Requested, for items that are lost and being searched for, but that are not yet declared Missing. It would be helpful if the message displayed in Primo could indicate that the item was being searched for, and didn't merely display "In Process of Fulfillment."

Configuring External Library names for display in Primo
In Alma it is already possible to enter external location names for display in Primo. We request this option for library names, too. Currently, the configured library name is exposed to the user in the Primo Getit tab as well as to the staff in several places in the Alma user interface, f.ex. the „currently at“ pickup list and the persistent menu. We request the possibility to configure an internal name for display in Alma (for example in abreviated form) and and external name for display in the Primo Get it tab.

bursar integration - option to export fine/fee credits even if minimum value > 0
Currently in order for fine/fee credits to be exported in the bursar integration, the minimum value must be set to zero, which means Alma will export fines of any amount even if they are very small.
We would like to be able to set a minimum value for the fine export, but still export credits. Ideally we'd like a checkbox to tell Alma to apply the minimum value amount to credits as well as to debits. For example if we set the minimum value to $5 and check a box to include credits, Alma would export any fines over $5, as well as any credits over $5.Currently in order for fine/fee credits to be exported in the bursar integration, the minimum value must be set to zero, which means Alma will export fines of any amount even if they are very small.

Activate recalls by user group
Allow libraries to modify recall rules based on each user group.
Currently recalls can be turned on or all for all user groups only. It would be beneficial for many libraries, especially academic, to be able to modify recall rules by user group. As an academic institution, we would like the ability to allow certain patron groups to recall books, but block recalls by our visitor and community patrons, or patrons at other institutions. This would help prevent situations where a student working on a project or thesis from having their books recalled by a visitor patron who would like to read the books for leisure.

Allow administrators to change the labels on Alma terminology.
Allow relabeling of field tags, such as changing CHRON I to YEAR, and ENUM A to VOLUME. Let libraries have the flexability to use the terminalogy that they prefer.

Add check-out function to Alma mobile
I think it would be useful to add the check-out function to Alma mobile. Sometimes the circulation desk is busy so it would be helpful if library staff could check-out books for users from a mobile device.

Model the Course/Reading List association as a many-to-many relationship
We need to be able to affiliate the same reading list with multiple course objects in Alma. Currently, reading lists can only be assigned to a single Alma Course object at a given time. At our university with a complex course timetable structure we need to be able to accommodate complex relationships between cross-listed and "meets with" courses. For these courses, we must accommodate a single course that is offered by multiple departments or at multiple course numbers (e.g., undergraduate and graduate versions of the same course "meet with" each other by sharing a lecture).
For example, our Computer Sciences 352 course is cross listed with Electrical Engineering 352. In this case, in order to align the Alma course objects to student enrollments, we must create two distinct courses, one for each department. In this case the Alma Course object's Academic Department metadata is different. However, from the perspective of our university, these are not distinct courses. Therefore, they have the same course content, including their reserves reading lists. We need to be able to associate a single reading list with ECE 352 course object as well as the CS 352 course object.
Copying and creating a duplicate reading list is not a good solution because reading lists evolve throughout a semester. Our library relies upon student staff to process our reserves reading lists. These non-professional employees cannot be expected to know the intricacies of complex courses. They should only need to update a single reading list, not two.

Automatically populate date and end time in booking request form
When placing a booking in Alma or Primo you need to choose a starting date then a starting hour followed by a starting minute. You then need to choose an end date then an ending hour and an ending minute. This is a lot of clicks to place one booking.
It would be nice if the end date, hour and time could be automatically populated based on the Terms of use of the item (so if the loan period is 2 hours and the start time is 2:30 then the end time could be automatically populated to say 4:30). If the user wants to book the item for a shorter period of time then they can just adjust the end time to suit how long they want the item for.
This option would likely not suit all sites so it would need to be configurable so it could be turned on or off at the institution level.

47 votesThank you again for sharing your idea and for the thoughtful input you've provided. When we first discussed it, I was optimistic about exploring it further,
While I had hoped to prioritize this enhancement, it hasn’t gained the traction we typically look for to move forward. As a result, it’s unlikely to be implemented in the foreseeable future. That said, your feedback remains valuable, and I’ll continue to keep it in mind as our roadmap evolves.

Batch update of role expiry dates via the UI
Batch update of role expiry dates via the UI.
We have hundreds of student staff who have expiry dates on their roles (see attached for an example). Every semester, we have to manually edit each and every role for every student. This process would be so much easier if we could choose multiple roles and then batch update the expiry date.
Thank You! Lisa

Need item-based request priority
We need to be able to configure a request TOU which allows to define an item-based request priority, based on item policy. When there are two identical items available for requesting, I want to indicate to Alma which one to prefer.
We have a library responsible for legal deposit. Of all documents of legal deposit, we have two items, one which can be requested for the reading room, the other which can be requested for loan. When a patron places a request on the holding, Alma decides randomly which one of the items to provide.
We would like to configure Alma to say that the loanable item for home use is of higher priority than the one for the reading room. There exists currently the possibility to add a request priority in a request TOU, but it only applies two patrons of a different user group (as informed by case #00434491).

Include storage location ID field in pick from shelf API's for display in Alma Mobile
See this email thread from Alma-L:
Hi Caroline,
We would need to enhance the data returned in the pick from shelf APIs to include the storage location ID field in order for it to appear in the display in Alma Mobile.
Would you put this on the Idea Exchange (http://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com) and let others comment on your idea? We would like to find out if other customers would also like to see this field in the Pick From Shelf display.

Subject: [ALMA-L] Alma mobile app customizationHello,
I work at an off-site storage facility that uses the Storage Location ID field to locate our materials in our warehouse environment. This field is crucial to pulling materials in addition to call number and unique barcode. However, the Alma mobile app as is doesn’t include that Storage Location ID field. Right now it includes the ISSN which I was hoping we could replace with the Storage Location ID field.
Has anyone at their institution edited/customized what is displayed in the app to pull materials?
Is this a change we buy from Alma? Is this hiring a programmer to change coding?
Thanks!

Field creation date by changes via API
While changing a specific field in a user records via API the "creation date" should be changed only in this field and not in any other fields – which happens now – in order to be able to recognize the newest changes in a user profile.

Display logic rules should work on Primo users NOT logged in
Display logic rules currently only work if a user logs in Primo. Also, the rules only work to hide a service (not show a service). Also, Primo New UI does not allow forcing users to log in.
So, we have a scenario where we want CCC Get It Now articles to display only for our Faculty user group. However, the article links are displaying to everyone (guest) - until the user logs in and then the links are hidden for everyone except our faculty. Because everyone starts out in Primo as guest, this defeats the purpose of the rule.
Another scenario is that a college that we are in a consortium with wants to hide EBSCO links if Gale links exist. They can create a display logic rule to do this, but the rule will not work for guest, only for logged in users.
Another fix for this issue would be to allow a display logic rule that will basically only SHOW a service if it is a certain user group. This would allow us to show the CCC Get It Now interface if the user group is faculty. However the display logic rules do not allow this type of logic.
