Check past requests
When a request is cancelled or completed, there is no possibility to retrieve any information about the past request. If something went wrong, it is impossible to trace the patron or destination of the request.

More information on Process Type Transit
In 'Item history', you can see when an item was checked in and out of transit, but not for whom or whereto. If something goes wrong with the transit, you can't get any information about the inactive/completed request.

Add Rapid ILL lending categories to Electronic Collections in Alma
Please add a new Rapid ILL lending status field to electronic collections so libraries can indicate the following Rapid ILL lending statuses and more easily create logical sets to automatically send holdings to Rapid:
• LendableInternational: You are able to fill lending requests from any other Rapid libraries around the world. This is typically the Lendable value used for print materials that you want to make available in Rapid.
• LendableCountry: You are able to fill lending requests only from Rapid libraries in your country. This is typically the Lendable value used for electronic materials.
• LocalOnly: You are not able to fill lending requests from other Rapid libraries, however these items are still available to fill your local patrons’ borrowing requests.Currently, the documentation suggests putting these labels in electronic collections’ internal notes field. https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/RapidILL/Implementation_Guides/Alma_Holdings_Harvest_for_RapidILL
It would better to have a dedicated field in electronic collections where a Rapid lending status value could be selected.
Libraries should also have the ability to perform bulk changes to this field via the E-Collection Quick Update Cloud App.

Improvement in Borrowing request search
When searching Borrowing Requests, we would like the ability to make keyword search and to be able to search for barcodes.
This would enable staff to work more efficiently, since they would have the ability to search across indexes, and search specific requests with a barcode.

Digitization Requests - remove 'next step' from process
When managing Digitization Requests after 'Scan In', there is an obligatory 'Next Step' which has to be selected before getting the option to 'Attach documents' (and get the status from 'Digitization' to 'Document delivery'). Is it possible to remove this 'next step' from the Digitization process?

Do not automatically highlight search terms
After completing a search in the persistent search box, the inputted text remains in that field. When clicking back into the persistent search box to edit this text, all of the text is automatically highlighted. This often results in accidentally deleting the entire search phrase when attempting to edit it slightly, or at the very least having to pay extra careful attention to click twice into the search box to un-highlight before editing. Removing auto-highlighting would streamline the process of editing searches and alleviate the frustration of many accidental deletions.

Retain Course Reserves info in Alma Analytics
It would be helpful if the system would retain information about course reserves in Analytics, even after things are deleted in Alma. It would be useful to be able to look back over various terms and see what courses were run and when.

Support automatic weeding of holdings in the Swedish national catalogue
The Swedish national Ex Libris user group (ElugSWE) would like Alma to integrate with the Swedish national catalogue (Libris), so that when a bibliographic record is deleted in Alma, the corresponding holding record is deleted in Libris.
(We have discussed this idea with the local Ex Libris representative and also a customer success manager, and were recommended to submit it to Idea Exchange.)
This integration exists for multiple other library systems, and it would be really welcomed if Alma could match them on this.
The integration would need to make use of Libris API:s, documented here:
https://github.com/libris/librisxl/blob/master/rest/API.md
The sections most interesting for the "weeding" use case are:
Delete – https://github.com/libris/librisxl/blob/master/rest/API.md#deleting-a-record---requires-authentication
Findhold – https://github.com/libris/librisxl/blob/master/rest/API.md#_findhold---find-holding-records-for-a-bibliographic-record

Option to add user details to Pick from Shelf & in export list
For institutions that manage requests differently depending on User Group or other values in the user record, it would be useful to have this info displayed with the rest of the request data in a pick from shelf list. Alternatively it would be useful to have this data in the export list so that staff managing these requests have this additional data to hand.

Clear Process Type (Transit) of all Items in Set with Job
Often books get skipped during scanning-in and are reshelved while still having a process type of "Transit." This leads to hundreds of materials over time in the stacks showing as not in place. A set with only these items can be created, but a bulk clearing of this field isn't yet possible.
Any of these would work:
1. create a job that clears the Process Type (specifically books marked Transit that have already been reshelved but were skipped during the regular scan-in process)
2. scan-in all items in a created set
3. scan-in multiple barcodes at once (separated by ; or &)Often books get skipped during scanning-in and are reshelved while still having a process type of "Transit." View all PAID invoices
Right now there is no easy way to see all of the recently paid invoices after they return from the ERP. Our business office needs to verify that they were, in fact, paid. We are using an analytics report but this is non-optimal

Provide multiple hold pickup options within a single Alma library
We'd like to provide, within a single Alma library, the following pickup location/delivery options to our users: locker, circulation desk, or mail to home. At present, this is only possible through the creation of additional libraries.

Add Collection related subject area/dimensions/parameters in Analytics
Please elaborate Collection in Analytics. We suggest three ideas for that;
Idea 1)
Collection can be a separate dimension, with the existing/new parameters below;
- Collection ID (existing)
- Collection Name (existing)
- Collection External System
- Collection External ID
- Collection MMS ID (of the collection's BIB itself)
- ★★★ The PIDs of the collection's direct sub-collections (in different rows, not combined with semicolons; should be repeatable so that the created report can show the hierarchical structure of whole collections)
- Collection level (the depth)
- Collection Path (from the collection's top level collection to itself)
- Collection Description
etc.Idea 2)
If the aforementioned parameters are not capable to show the hierarchy of the collections, nine dimensions for each level of collection can be created as followings;Nine Demensions for each Collection level;
Dimension 1 : Collection level 1 (top)
Dimension 2 : Collection level 2
Dimension 3 : Collection level 3
....
Dimension 9 : Collection level 9Then, each dimension can have the following parameters;
Collection BIB MMS ID
Collection PID
Collection Name
Collection Description
Direct super(upper)-collection PID
Direct sub-collection PID
Create date
Modification date
Creator
etc.

Delete interested users job - independent of Interested In Letter
Ex Libris says the Delete interested users job "Runs weekly to delete interested users that are linked to closed or canceled PO lines. The job checks that an interestedin letter was sent to the interested users before removing it from the PO Line. Interested users will not be removed from a closed or canceled PO line if a letter was not sent to them."
Due to privacy regulations, we would like the job to run regardless of a letter being sent or not. The closed or cancelled PO line should be sufficient to run the job.
We do not use the Interested user letter for e-books since it doesn't include either URL to Primo or direct URL, which would be even better. To give separate votes to the improvements to the letter, please go to: https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/13113015-add-more-work-record-details-e-g-mmsid-to-the-i

The ability to sort the "List of Items" by "Copy ID" or "Item Call Number"
Adding "Copy ID" and "Item Call Number" to the "Sort routine" in the "List of Items would be very helpful for us. We catalog various types of equipment to loan out to students. The equipment has a Permanent Call Number which designates the type of equipment and where the equipment is from using a code. Each piece of equipment belonging to that bibliographic record has an item call number so being able to sort by item call number or copy ID would make our life easier. Thank you.

Option to Return Items Without Filling Patron Requests
Items checked in that have patron requests on them are automatically placed on hold shelf and the patron is immediately emailed. Currently Ex Libris allows a delay for the notice for a maximum of 999 minutes, which is often not long enough. Sometimes materials come back that need repair, updates, or to be quarantined. This can take varying amounts of time. It would be ideal if the system would allow us to have the option to check materials in without triggering the hold process, so we may complete any necessary steps we need to before an email is triggered to the patron.

Permanent Call Number in Physical Item Editor
It would be extremely useful if we could edit the permanent call number in the physical item editor the same way we can edit the permanent location. This information is an holding's element in many libraries.
Otherwise, after receiving the orders, we need to edit both the physical item and the holding after cataloging and before scanning the items to put them on the shelves.. This is tedious and prone to errors.23 votes -
Configure paired libraries to have own Discovery Widget in Alma
We have two libraries and would like to have the Discovery Widget visible on Alma's initial page based on own libraries collection. When I go to Configuration Menu > Discovery > Display Configuration > Configure Views, 2 libraries are listed. If I select my own library, my own library discovery widget becomes the default to both libraries. We'd like each library to have their corresponding collection on the Discovery Widget.

Cost Per Use *by fund* Report for Electronic Collections (Databases)
Problem: We are looking for a way to run a cost usage report by fund that includes titles with the PO Line Type ‘Name of Electronic Collection - Subscription.’
Description: Our library evaluates cost per use of all serials by fund. We have been able to run a cost per use report by fund for our print and electronic journals. We run into a roadblock, however, when we try to generate a report on the cost/use of a database by fund.
The E-Inventory Cost Usage report includes all titles with the PO Line Type Name of ‘Electronic Journal - Subscription.’ However, it does not include titles with the PO Line Type Name of ‘Electronic Collection – Subscription’, which is the line type name for all of our databases. Without a cost per use report by fund that includes databases, we have to spend a lot of time creating a report by hand using information that is stored within Alma, but not retrievable as a report.
