Add due date or overdue status to the search bar criteria
Would it be possible to either add criteria to the search bar which either includes the Due Date of a loan, or a flag of Is Overdue (equals Yes/No)?
Reason: If we want to check on certain overdue items, I can't find a quick & easy way to investigate them. Adding these to the search bar would leverage the other search criteria to make easy Logical sets of items that are overdue in certain areas (such as reserves or equipment loans).
The current alternatives all have drawbacks:
Creating a fulfillment set requires us to input the criteria for the due date each time we create a set, with no way to automate for a daily task. (If there were a special Logical Fulfilment Set of overdue items, that would be useful if the original idea can't be implemented)
Going through Overdue and Lost Loan Jobs requires checking each profile that an item may have matched.
Analytics can automate this type of search for overdues, but is based on when the data harvested daily. This is not useful for short loan items and will have false data for items that have been returned after the data harvest.

Show Additional ID under Manage Patron Services > Request
The Royal Danish Library has placed the pickup number in Additional ID. In order to have easy access to the number, we would like to see the number under Manage Patron Services / Requests. We would like to have an extra column (Additional ID)

On Hold Shelf letter should display pick-up library rather than owning library
Currently, if a student places a request on a book from a different library to be picked up at their "home" library, the On Hold Shelf letter comes from the owning library with the owning library's branding, not from the pick-up location, which is what they are expecting. This is confusing to students because they are not expecting an email from a different library and often ignore it.
The On Hold Shelf letter email should have the pick-up library information/branding, not the owning library's information/branding.87 votes -
Send ALMA notification when fines are waived
It would be helpful if ALMA can send a patron an email notification when fines are forgiven. ALMA is very good at communicating all other transactions, especially when a patron has generated a fine. However, when staff forgive fines in ALMA, there should be an easy way for staff to communicate with patrons. Currently, our preferred method is to directly email patrons and this reduces patron confusion on their end. Thank you! From a Circulation Manager

Skip Location for Lending Requests
For "patron physical item requests", there is an option called "Skip location". We use this option when we don't have the requested material available at our campus library, but another of our campus libraries does. In these cases, when we click on the "Skip location"-button, the request gets automatically transferred to a library which has the material available.
We would like to have a similar "Skip location"-function for lending requests. Today we have to manually transfer the lending requests between our campus libraries, if we don't have the material available at the library which originally got the request. A "Skip location"-function would do this for us automatically, and therefor save us a lot of time.

Add "Field searched" Column in "Primo Popular Searches" Analytics
"Field searched" is an attribute field that stores the field being searched. This is relevant if the user performed a search on a specific field (such as authors only). But now we can only use this function in the "Zero Result Searches". We would like to use this function in the "Primo Popular Searches", so that we could do more users behavior analysis.

Ability to create true temporary "on the fly" items that disappear
The "quick cataloging" in fulfillment is fine for items that are expected to be shunted to technical services after they are returned, but some items, like journals that don't normally circulate, don't need to be processed after, just returned to the shelf. There should be a true "on the fly" process that creates a temporary record that is automatically deleted once the item is scanned back in.

restrict booking access
I would like the ability to restrict booking of equipment to certain subset of patrons. Right now, if Item is bookable, it is bookable for all patrons.

Identify subscription databases in Alma analytics
It is possible to identify subscription collections in Alma analytics by marking the service editor: Free=Not free. However, databases do not have service editor. We do mark it in the collection editor as Free=not free.
In Alma analytics, there is no way to identify subscription databases. My case was closed with the support directing me to suggest an idea here.
Please add elements in Alma analytics so we can use to identify subscription databases.

Order list letters file format PDF
Attach the order list letter to the POL instead of the PO. Also, the letter should be attached as a PDF, not an HTML file.

Move unified PO Line Task popups
In the new unified PO Line Task List view, after an action is complete and an alert that it succeeded (green with a check) or failed (red with an X) pops up. This alert is anchored to the right side of the screen and multiple alerts align vertically. However, since the new view doesn't have the column on the right side of the screen, the popups' location on the right side of the screen means that any time something pops up, it blocks actionable buttons (such as edit button in a POL submenu, seen attached), requiring that we either wait for popup to minimize or click the X to minimize it. This affects any screen that doesn't have the right-hand column the old view did (invoicing, packaging POs, managing sets, etc.)
I would like to suggest moving these alerts so that they don't block menu buttons.

Preview PO line attachments in Alma
It currently is not possible to preview a PO line attachment in Alma; you have to download it to see what the document contains. This can result in downloading multiple documents before you find the one that you need. We would like to be able to preview those attachments in Alma to avoid that extra step of downloading each attachment just to view it.

Authority data: first indicator in the bibliographic record
Now we have many mistakes in our bibliographic records in the settings of the first indicator by connecting with authority data (GND, IdRef, ..). It would be great to have an automatic process, which takes over the first indicator of the authority data to the bibliographic record when you select the authority heading.
What you have then is the following: First indicator, preferred term and authority identifier are taken over from the authority record to the bibliographic record by using “select” in the index view of the authority record.
It would be great, if this is implemented for 1XX/6XX/7XX in the bibliographic record. Now we have many mistakes in our bibliographic records in the settings of the first indicator by connecting with authority data (GND, IdRef, ..). In such cases, copying the first indicator from the Authority to the Bibliographic heading would result in incorrect data. Is the reqeust is about Names only? Hans, I would recommend consulting with AAFG group for a detailed spec where this requested behavior is valid to which fields.

Contribute to CZ records : GND Authority File for 1XX/7XX Fields
A library wants to enhance CZ Bibliographic Records, one is asked by ExLibris to comply to their cataloguing standards (Alma Community Catalog: Cataloging Standards, Policies, Rights, and Responsibilities (exlibrisgroup.com)). On page 7 of those standards it is stated:
"Since we have a one record policy in the CZ, the issue of languages has been the most challenging part of the solution. The current decision is that the language of the item dictates the language for cataloging. (…) Similarly, the forms of name used as authorized access points in the record should be consistent with the language of cataloging--– LCNAF if 040 $b eng, GND if 040 $b ger, etc."
Now, if the librarian try to edit a field 100 in a CZ record and press F3, she/he gets only the LCNAMES displayed. She/he cannot access GND, IdRef or any other authority file provided by the CZ.
Bibliographic data in CZ is becoming increasingly important. For normalization in Primo of bibliographic data in NZ with those in CZ to work, normalization of bibliographic data in CZ with authority data is essential.
The idea: For bibliographic data in the CZ, F3 can be used to link the fields 1XX/7XX with authority data by using $$2 for the vocabulary

Add flags to tabs in vendor interface record area
We noticed the little corner/flag is not changing on the vendor interface details tabs when we add administrative information/access information/statistics information. We thought it would show like the notes tab with a dark corner when we enter information so we know that we have stuff in these tabs. We thought it was a glitch, so we reported to Ex Libris. They said it is by design:
The answer is that it is by design. The little corner flag is an indicator that there is system or user generated content like populated tables or lists. It doesn't indicate that form data has been filled in.
The documentation on it is here: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/010Getting_Started/050Alma_User_Interface_%E2%80%93_General_Information/The_Alma_User_Interface#TabsThe tabs that you have asked about are tabs that only have forms where data is filled in, not tables that are configured.
I would like to advocate to have the corner flag show anytime on a tab that has user content input into it, especially on the vendor interface tabs. This way we will know if we have entered admin credentials or not.

SUSHI harvesting for JSTOR
I noticed that our SUSHI harvesting for JSTOR hadn't worked successfully since May 2023. The requests for reports were coming back with this message:
{"Code": 1011, "Severity": "Warning", "Message": "Report Queued for Processing", "Help_URL": "https://support.jstor.org/hc/en-us/articles/360015483214-SUSHI-reports-COUNTER-5-overview", "Data": "Successful request. You must re-request this report to receive data. Please allow 1 hour for processing before retrying."}
So I reviewed the information here:
https://support.jstor.org/hc/en-us/articles/360015483214-SUSHI-reports-COUNTER-5-overviewThis page makes it clear that this is expected behaviour.
I ran a custom harvest for June-Sept 2023 and it failed (as expected).
I ran a second custom harvest an hour later and it succeeded.I'm not aware of any way to set this up in a scheduled way for this specific vendor, but it sure would be nice.

Make it possible to choose to which Work Order Department an item goes after receipt (not just Acquisitions)
We have noticed that our real-life workflow doesn't align well with Alma's behavior regarding receiving items. In practice, when we receive an item, it promptly moves to a different department – transitioning from acquisitions to the catalog department. In Alma, however, achieving this requires manual department adjustments each time an item is received. While we are familiar with options such as "keep in department," "shelf ready," and work orders, none of these options yield the desired outcome or contribute to streamlining the process. Our objective is to minimize unnecessary clicks, and it would greatly enhance the user experience if items could automatically switch to a desired department upon receipt.

Not "Notify user" when canceling a "Patron physical item request"
In most situations we don’t want a request cancellation to be sent to users when we cancel a patron physical item request (Ful Cancel Request Letter). But since the checkbox “Notify user” is checked by default, the letter often gets sent by mistake, resulting in users thinking they will not receive the requested material, when in fact they will. We want the checkbox to be unchecked by default. Maybe this could be a configurable option in Alma (whether the checkbox is checked or not) so that each library can decide this for themselves?

Physical item editor Receiving date
In the Physical Item Editor Receiving date field, in order to add today's date, one must click on the calendar, then click on the day. Since today's date is already highlighted in the calendar, I would like the option to hit Enter to fill in the field. Even better would be the option of typing a t (for example) and having today's date autofill.
