Fulfillment: Automatic Renewal Notices / Email Letters to patrons when loans automatically renewed
Our users have requested to be notified with the new due date when an on loan item is automatically renewed by Alma. This is currently not possible and users are not aware when the item is due back until they receive a courtesy reminder 2-3 days before the due date. We would like Alma to provide the option to configure and send Auto Renewal Notices / Email Letters to users when their loans have automatically been renewed by Alma. We have Auto Renewal Activated and our users do not receive any notification that this has taken place. We would like to be able to send notification of the Auto Renewal and the new due date to our patrons.
It is now possible to configure the system to send notices to patrons when loans get automatically updated by the automatic renew process.

It will be possible to configure the system (Automatic renew rule output) whether to send a new email to the patron when renewal takes place. If emails are sent, they will be sent in an aggregated manner (single notice for all renewed loans) or separately, depending on the library separation parameter
This is planned to be released in the November 2024 release

Any status updates on this change? Patrons appreciate the auto renew function, but also want to know when it happens. Otherwise, some forget that they even have our items (especially those with longer loan periods).

Per EXL support: "Ex Libris Development has completed an initial assessment of this suggestion "Fulfillment: Automatic Renewal Notices / Email Letters to patrons when loans automatically renewed". After taking into account a number of factors including impact, scope, technical complexity, functional prerequisites, and existing development priorities, Development has set a target date of Q4 2020 for release of this functionality."

Hi there, my library is also very interested to know when this will be implemented. Automatic renewals are very popular with our patrons, and a great many of them ask us repeatedly why they do not get a notification when the renewal is successful. Thanks!
