  1. Add Bibliographic Details shared dimension to Physical Items Historical Events Report

    Use case: What are the languages (Bib Details) for items in a certain work order status (Physical Items Historical Events)? It doesn't seem possible to report on languages from Physical Items Historical Events because it doesn't have the Bib Details shared dimension. The Physical Items report doesn't seem to have work order status. Adding the Bib Details shared dimension to the Physical Items Historical Events report would be very helpful to avoid having to feed results of one report to the other.   2. Currently when a new order is created for an existing standing order, with "Assign inventory manually" checked, the user has to create the P

    Currently when a new order is created for an existing standing order, with "Assign inventory manually" checked, the user has to create the POL then exit before entering the supplier, price, fund code, and other information.
    The POL then has to be linked to the holdings, which is an entirely separate process. Only when this is done can the necessary order information be entered.
    Allowing the user to link to existing holdings as part of creating the order would make this a much more seamless process.

  3. Change the order of the dropdown menu for 'Run a Job'

    It would save a lot of time and extra clicks if the first option in the dropdown menu for 'Run a job' was switched to 'Name', rather than 'Description'.

  4. Manage Sets without Repository Manager permissions

    It would be nice if we could update and manage repository sets without needing the Repository Manager role. Without it, staff can create sets and run queries, but they can't update any sets that weren't personally created by them, making it so that managers are having to make small updates that could easily be made by staff.

  5. Visibility of additional page range for citation records in Alma

    The recent update to Alma allowing the addition of multiple page ranges has been very helpful—thank you for that.
    However, I’ve noticed that in the Alma citation record preview, only the first page range is displayed. This can be a bit misleading when we’re monitoring citations, as it doesn’t reflect the full set of page ranges entered. However, the full page range is visible in the Leganto record.
    Would it be possible to implement a similar preview that exists in Leganto, in the Alma citation record, that shows all the entered page ranges?

  6. Add General Electronic Services information to Analytics

    In General Electronic Services, we have four different services for article requests, four different services for book requests, and five different services for book chapter requests, all developed over the years to address provider idiosyncrasies. Each group of services provides the same link to the user, e.g. the article request links all display "Get this PDF".

    Our Interlibrary Services unit has the product delivery statistics, but I would really find it helpful to know how many clicks each of our General Electronic Services gets. It would help with service and link maintenance and I expect with troubleshooting, since it would…

  7. Add link to requester's account when item returned

    When an item is returned with a request on it, a pop up shows with information about the requester. Our staff would find it useful if this was a link to the user account. They often need to check information on the account, particularly for our library laptops, so this would save them rekeying the information.

  8. Contributed collections - a Report to Contributor instead of Report to Ex Libris

    There are many collections now that are contributed by the community. Sometimes there are errors within them and as it is now, there is no way to report that and get the linking problem (for an example) fixed and the issues can be so many that a deactivation is necessary, but then the collection becomes dead and just clutter KB. My suggestion is that when a institution contributes a collection, a mandatory field is added to the workflow of contributing. This field contains an email address.   9. Make it possible to add Vendor Interface fields and customize field value options for existing fields

    In Alma, Vendor Interfaces in Vendor records are the place designed to hold e-resources administrative information, such as contact information, administrative details, and usage statistics details. However, the fields available to libraries were developed several years ago, are not customizable, and do not reflect the complexity of modern e-resources management. Different types of institutions have different needs and want to record different types of information, so adding a few new fields for all libraries isn't an ideal solution.

    Thanks so much for sharing this idea!

    From what I understand, it includes two main parts:

    1. Allowing institutions to edit the list of values in various fields, with a specific example being the “Implemented Authorization Method” field.
    2. Adding more fields and making them reportable in Analytics, along with a request for a flexible mechanism to support this.

    Regarding the second point — adding a flexible mechanism is quite a complex change and could impact the timeline.

    If you can point out around three specific fields that are most important to add first, it might be easier.

  10. Add ILL cost/fee upon receive

    Completion of scans via Resource Sharing - this now has to be done in 2 steps:
    • First receive for the creation of a cost; then Upload File/Send file to patron
    • Please note we also investigated the policies of creating a cost automatically based upon fulff unit rules and a dedicated TOU (with fee creation). However due to a lack of criteria and due to a complex range of agreements on adding fee’s we are not able to use this.

    Optimization is to avoid two steps:

  11. Sort collections by creation/modification date

    It would be very helpful to be able to sort collections in the Community Zone by creation date, modification date, and total activations. Some collections (especially older ones) are not well maintained, or newer versions are added without older versions being removed. Being able to sort collections by creation date or modification date would help to be able to select the most updated collection. It would also be beneficial to be able to sort by the total activations, as the ones with the higher numbers are more likely to be the best one.

  12. Preferred email address and system messages

    If a user account has no preferred email address, no letters will be sent to this user. It is possible to save a user account without preferred email, and I guess that some libraries need to be able to save email addresses without having one that is preferred. But at Uppsala university we need better messages from the system about this, otherwise some users will have no preferred email and consequently get no letters from the library.

  14. Show letter category in Letters Config

    In the documentation on Letters, the table includes a column for Category, which shows whether a letter is for Acquisition, Fulfillment, Digital, etc. (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/050Administration/050Configuring_General_Alma_Functions/070Configuring_Alma_Letters)

    However, when you are actually in Letters Configuration, the table does NOT include Category, so there is no simple way to filter to see JUST the Acquisitions letters, or JUST the Fulfillment letters. It's also not a column that can be added to the view by clicking the gear icon.

    It would be SUPER helpful to add the Category to the Letters Configuration table.

    In Alma in the electronic collections I can find the metadata have a structure that follows the structure of the database and not a normal catalogue standard.

    A title looks like this: 'Collected works of Ludwig Wittgenstein. On certainty' and there are very few other information, eg. the field for ISBN and the writer has not been filled out.

  16. Output Location External Name in z39.50 OPAC format

    Alma provides the ability to specify an External Name for a location and this is used in PrimoVE instead of the location Name. However, when item information is exposed via the z39.50 OPAC format the "shelvingLocation" contains the location Name and not the External Name. The External Name should apply in all cases where the location name is exposed outside of ALMA including z39.50.

  17. 'Notes' field in User Group configuration - note field for each user group in the user group table

    I know there is a tab for notes in user group configuration (Fulfilment>Patron Configurations>User Groups) but it would be more useful if there was a way of adding a note to each user group in the table, so it would appear as a column in the table next to Description. Then we could add what that user group includes, or how they are defined.

  18. Add the Work Order Types sorting option

    Hi Everyone,

    We're working on our Work Order types and departments to get a better overview of items under repair and others in libraries. I can't figure out how the WO types are sorted in the fulfillment desks, they seem to be randomly placed when I add them!

  20. Add extra filter operators to date fields in title search

    Add the following filter operators to all titles search:
    -Is within last (days)
    -Is older than (days)
    -Is within next (days)

    to filters in all titles search such as MMS creation date (title) and modification date (title).

    These filters are already available in user search.
