  1. Add a support category for vendor contact information.

    Add a technical support option category for contact information (email addresses and phone numbers) in vendor records. Often vendors have different contact information for orders/claims/returns versus support, and right now there is no way in Alma to label a phone number or email address as a technical support line. This leads to confusion on the part of the library's own support staff, and we often end up Googling any contact information listed in Alma. This is a straightforward and necessary enhancement.

  2. Move list of "loans of this session" up higher.

    When checking books out, it helps to be able to see the title pop up. Depending on the monitor, the list sometimes doesn't show up at all because it's too far down. We need to be able to see each title pop up so we can verify that we are actually checking the item out.

  3. Add the ability to upload EDI files from FTP sites manually

    Currently, Alma will only allow you to manually upload an EDI invoice file from a local folder. If you map an FTP site shortcut to your desktop and attempt to manually upload the EDI invoice file from that location, it will say there is an error. I have confimed that Alma does not currently support manual EDI invoice file uploading from ftp sites, only when you configure it to run automatically.

    Import profiles support both processes, so it seems like this area of Alma should support both manual and automatic uploads from FTP sites as well.

  5. Column and/or filter for Privacy in Manage Sets

    In Manage Sets it would be really helpful if there was a column to show if a set was Private or Not, and a filter for Privacy (Yes/No).

    This would help when I'm trying to delete from "My Sets" or All Sets" tab. To make sure I don't break someone's business process I need to go into each set to check the privacy before I delete a set.

  6. Ability to customise email subject heading in Alma letters using letter data

    As library staff we would like the ability to customise the email subject heading of Alma letters using letter data so that we can flag something up to a customer/use in their email inbox.

    For example, we've recently customised our On Hold Shelf Letter using XSL to have different content when a customer is picking up a Resource Sharing request as we ask customers to collect these from our Customer Services desk whereas other requests are placed on a self service hold shelf in the library.

  7. Allow to change the default value of “Item owner” field to “Any Institution” when lending items

    When lending items, the default value of the field “Item owner” is “My Institution“. It should be possible to decide the default value of this field, “Any Institution” for example. This would save many clicks for people working at desk.

    It should be possible to apply the Copyright Work Percentage Rule for:
    1. Patron Digitization Requests
    2. RS Borrowing requests

    And not just for:
    1. Staff Digitization Requests

  10. Visibility of display logic rules at the Alma collection level

    It would be very helpful to flag activated Alma collections when they are concerned by display logic rules.

    At the moment, there is no indication and activation changes may have some impact on the discovery and fulfillment level. It would be very useful for electronic operators to be directly alerted (for example with an icon) and it could prevent collection deletions or other mistakes made due to lack of knowledge.

  11. Add a new Bibliographic ID field for OCLC Control Number 035z to display each OCN one row per MMS ID

    Currently, a user may retrieve a delimited list of cancelled OCLC control numbers from the OCLC Control Number (035z) attribute under Bibliographic Details. However, this field has limited usefulness for a couple reasons. First, the field has a limit of 256 characters, which means when a bibliographic record shows more than 15 or 16 OCLC numbers have been merged, some numbers are excluded. Second, and more importantly, each individual control number cannot be matched to other cancelled or active control numbers in other records without being split to a separate field first.   12. Add general note(s) field from the Electronic Collection Editor to Analytics

    Currently, only the public and authentication notes seem to be available. It would be useful to have a way to find and report on those collections that have general notes added.

  13. Allow comparison with specific collection(s) with uploaded files in Collection overlap analysis –

    When we upload a collection title list with coverage for collection overlap analysis, Alma doesn’t allow us to select a specific collection to compare with. It only allows us to compare with the entire IZ, which is not always the goal. If we can select specific collections to compare with when we use Alma collections, it should not be too difficult to do the same comparison when using an uploaded title file.

  14. Add export start/effective date to Bursar integration profile configuration settings

    When creating a new Bursar integration profile, we want to be able to limit the transactions being exported to only those generated after a specific date. This is in addition to ‘Time before export (days)’ setting. We've never used an integration profile to export fines/fees to be transferred to our bursar office and have instead used the API. We're now stuck in a situation where we can't switch to using an integration profile because without a start/effective date there's no way to prevent the exported files from creating double billing of transactions that have already been transferred to our bursar…

  15. Add ability to customize the data exported by Bursar integration profile using System = Other

    When creating an integration profile of type Bursar which uses a ‘System’ setting of ‘Other’ there should be more granular control over what data is included in the export.

    If a ‘System’ setting of ‘Other’ is selected, then a 'Data' tab should be made available which will allow you to select via checkbox what fines/fees and user data is included in the exported file. The data available should at minimum include, but not necessarily be limited to, what is accessible via API.

  16. Implement Automatic Upload of Electronic Holdings for Kanopy

    Kanopy is a collection of electronic streaming videos that is comparable to other autoholdings collections like Wiley Online Library - AutoHoldings Books and ProQuest Ebook Central. There is a large overarching collection of streaming videos (suitable for a Community Zone AutoHoldings Electronic Collection) a subset of which individual libraries subscribe to. It would help if Alma offered an Automatic Upload of Electronic Holdings integration with Kanopy.

  17. Daily quota of ISO-ILL Lending requests

    We would like to determine a daily quota of ISO-ILL Lending requests, like with RapidILL.
    Ideally, Alma would automatically reject requests beyond the quota and send them to other ISO Partners.

  18. Add “previous year” as an option in serials subscription date range drop down menu for invoice lines.

    Some of the invoices we process are for serials subscriptions for the previous calendar year. Having “previous year” as an option, for invoice line subscription ranges would be helpful.

  19. Increased efficiency thanks to new “Send externally” field in CZ update

    The additional “Send externally” field in the CZ update increases efficiency and communication within the library and with external partners and is structured in the same way as the “Report to Ex Libris” field. This allows messages to be sent directly from ALMA, eliminating the need to copy information. This reduces errors, saves time, and minimizes manual effort. Faster processing of requests and better coordination between departments and partners increase service quality and satisfaction and make the library forward-thinking.

    This option includes the following fields:

    1. Sender (automatically filled in by ExLibris based on the login)

  20. Configure return (pop-up) notes

    Dear,

    New Alma UI: when you now return an item that is requested, you get a pop-up with an overload of notes, most of which are not useful and which make you search quite a bit for the information you are actually looking for.
    In any case, (see attachment) those last two notes are redundant. The first two are also redundant, but perhaps that second note is useful in case it concerns a lost book and no fine is generated at the time of return.
