Add option (permitted) text data mining clause to license terms of use
Some publishers allow text data mining of databases/ejournal packages and this needs to be noted as a license term of use

Add a SUSHI account column in the usage statistics missing data page
Currently, a lot of publishers have chosen SilverChair as their platform, e.g. Duke University Press, Geological Society of America, American Medical Association, etc. Their COUNTER reports all have SilverChair as the platform. In the Alma Usage statistics Missing Data page, their harvesting are all together under SilverChair. One day, when one or more of the publishers have problem harvesting, we would not know just by looking at the Missing Data page, because other publishers may have harvested data under SilverChair.
Requesting Ex Libris to add a SUSHI account column so usage data with the same platform will be differentiated by…

Add email address to Contact People table in Vendor Details>Contact People
We are configuring Vendors as new Alma customers, and we wish it was easier to immediately see the Vendor Contact People email addresses (and easily copy and paste them or even hyperlink) without having to click into the record to track down the email address.
Please see screenshot attached showing where this information would be helpful.
If there is a way to make the email address visible that we have not discovered as Alma newbies, I'd also love to learn this!
Thank you,Abigail Wickes (she/her/hers)

Add seach box to Active Hold Shelf
We often have 1500+ items on our Active Hold Shelf. While we have the ability to sort, this does not help much when we are looking for a particular item. A search box would allow us to locate an item easily without clicking through page after page.

Add Fine/Fee ID and Transaction ID columns to User Details Fines/Fees tab
In the Fines/Fees tab of the User Details screen add Fine/Fee ID and Transaction ID to the list of columns that staff can choose to display. Currently the Fine/Fee ID and Transaction ID is only accessible via an Analytics report and thus aren’t available until the next day after any updates to the user’s fine/fees occur. Our staff need these IDs when troubleshooting fine/fee problems which means that users are negatively impacted by the Analytics lag time.

Enable setting of Personal Delivery Locations from Resource Sharing Form
In November 2023, The following was developed for holds based on this Idea Exchange suggestion Allow users to enter an address for home delivery – Have an idea for Ex Libris? (exlibrisgroup.com) We would like to have the same functionality available for the Resource Sharing Form as well. Our consortium policy allows for home delivery of materials from another's library. Obviously, this might not be welcome for all but without this functionality, we cannot see it being feasible to turn on this functionality for just local requests.

Account for library name when filtering advanced search option ‘holdings: permanent physical location’.
When performing an advanced search for physical items, holdings or titles, then selecting Holdings: permanent physical location equals, the last box has a drop-down list of all locations to select from, grouped by library.
On the Items search, when typing into the text box the location list filters by library so that you can then select from the locations within the library. However, when doing the same for a holdings or title search, the list filters by location.
This is inconvenient for us as there are a number of location names that feature across all libraries, e.g. Main Lending, Reference.…

Provide a way to duplicate a terms of use
This is especially a pain point when you are starting in Alma. When libraries are tweaking circulation rules, often you need to create a new terms of use as part of that, but what you really are doing is taking an existing terms of use and setting a new one up in the same except for one or two policies that are different. Right now, you have to have the TOUs in different tabs to make sure all the right values are matching, when having the ability to copy and then edit an existing TOU would save a bunch of…

Change default in loan history to fulfillment activities
In loan history the default radio button is item changes. Better to have fulfillment activities as default because it displays displays loans, returns and in-house-use.

Add an ability to change the "owning library" at acquisitions level
Organizational mergers or splits of libraries can occur at any time, necessitating the management of changes in the library landscape even after the migration process.
They involve the transfer of collections and data between libraries. While Alma supports the transfers of holding and item information between libraries, there are currently (as of Dec‘24) technical limitations when it comes to moving acquisitions data. This functionality is not yet supported by Alma.
We therefore propose implementing a solution that facilitates the seamless transfer of purchase orders, invoices, as well as linked vendor data and budget transactions between (owning) libraries within Alma. There…

No automatic cancelling of request when changing item location (or a more useful error message).
When we change location for an item we always get an error message that says that the change can lead to requests being cancelled (if there are any). But since it always shows, even when there are no request (which is most of the time in our experience), it is easy to ignore.
We would like to be able to choose if a request should be cancelled or not, even if the new location shouldn’t allow requests for the user.
Another possibility is that that the error message only shows when it is relevant and there actually are requests that…16 votes -
Allow EOD to generate multiple items (multi-volume sets) via Import Profiles
Currently, importing Embedded Order Data to generate POLs with a New Order Import Profile creates a single item per quantity ordered in the POL. Similarly, Update Inventory imports can't update more than one item. Unfortunately, when ordering multi-volume sets, this means volumes 2-n are left off the POL and must be added manually. This creates significant manual work for acquisitions teams, for both approval plans and firm orders. Being able to specify Quantity ordered AND Number of Items (per set) would disambiguate how many volumes we expect to receive, and allow for code that could specify barcode/enumeration on each of…

Consortia distribution mode of RetentionReason table per row
Hi,
we're thinking about the distribution of configuration for the Collection development from the Network Zone.
For our use case, we need to be able to centrally distribute the Retention Reason table per row (
Customization mode: Specific rows can be customized). There might be a mix of consortia and local reasons for retention. The NZ should be able to distribute the consortia retention reasons and the IZs should be able to add their own local retention reasons independently of the distributed NZ reasons.16 votes -

Add ability to customize the data exported by Bursar integration profile using System = Other
When creating an integration profile of type Bursar which uses a ‘System’ setting of ‘Other’ there should be more granular control over what data is included in the export.
If a ‘System’ setting of ‘Other’ is selected, then a 'Data' tab should be made available which will allow you to select via checkbox what fines/fees and user data is included in the exported file. The data available should at minimum include, but not necessarily be limited to, what is accessible via API.

Add export start/effective date to Bursar integration profile configuration settings
When creating a new Bursar integration profile, we want to be able to limit the transactions being exported to only those generated after a specific date. This is in addition to ‘Time before export (days)’ setting. We've never used an integration profile to export fines/fees to be transferred to our bursar office and have instead used the API. We're now stuck in a situation where we can't switch to using an integration profile because without a start/effective date there's no way to prevent the exported files from creating double billing of transactions that have already been transferred to our bursar…

Add general note(s) field from the Electronic Collection Editor to Analytics
Currently, only the public and authentication notes seem to be available. It would be useful to have a way to find and report on those collections that have general notes added.

Allow to change the default value of “Item owner” field to “Any Institution” when lending items
When lending items, the default value of the field “Item owner” is “My Institution“. It should be possible to decide the default value of this field, “Any Institution” for example. This would save many clicks for people working at desk.

Move list of "loans of this session" up higher.
When checking books out, it helps to be able to see the title pop up. Depending on the monitor, the list sometimes doesn't show up at all because it's too far down. We need to be able to see each title pop up so we can verify that we are actually checking the item out.

Add the ability to upload EDI files from FTP sites manually
Currently, Alma will only allow you to manually upload an EDI invoice file from a local folder. If you map an FTP site shortcut to your desktop and attempt to manually upload the EDI invoice file from that location, it will say there is an error. I have confimed that Alma does not currently support manual EDI invoice file uploading from ftp sites, only when you configure it to run automatically.
Import profiles support both processes, so it seems like this area of Alma should support both manual and automatic uploads from FTP sites as well.
