Flag individual articles in Alma as being unavailable.
ExLibris cannot verify accuracy between supplied metadata and a referenced database. As a result, there are times when an article is listed in Primo as available online; However, when the patron tries to retrieve the article, the database returns a not found error. This has been frustrating for our patrons.
Currently there is no way to flag an individual article as being unavailable. As a result, this becomes a recurring error for our patrons; with no option to correct.
Suggest providing a way to:
1. flag individual articles as available / not available by database
2. date and notes on…3 votes -
Add OCLC number option to Borrowing->Create a Request ->From Search->External Search->World Cat
In the Borrowing->Create a Request ->From Search->External Search->World Cat
can OCLC number be added to the field options? This could greatly enhance matching for specific items.3 votes -
Ability to pin and fix the facet in authorities search
It would be great if the search facet in the authorities search could be pinned and fixed, so you don't have to click and expand the facets every time you want to filter on a specific vocabulary

Disable the license terms from cascading down from POL to electronic collections and portfolios
The current situation is that after attaching a license to a PO Line, this license will override the license(s) originally attached to the electronic collections and the portfolios. We have 5000+ Chinese ebooks that come with a wide range of number of concurrent users. While we can update them using the 'Run a Job' function, but once the POL that is connected with the electronic collection is updated, it will override the license terms we have for the individual ebooks. So we would like to see if there is an option to delink the POLs and electronic collections from the…

Optimizing Library Operations Through Alma API Integration
Hello everyone,
I am seeking expert guidance on effectively harnessing Alma’s API capabilities to elevate our library’s operational efficiency. As we strive to streamline processes and strengthen system integration, including mulesoft API integration. I am eager to learn from the collective wisdom of this community.
I am particularly interested in insights on:
Best Practices: Proven methods for seamlessly integrating Alma APIs with external systems to ensure optimal data flow and mitigate potential challenges.
Overcoming Obstacles: Common hurdles encountered during Alma API integration and successful strategies for resolution.
Performance Enhancement: Techniques and tools for optimizing Alma API performance, especially when…3 votes -
Add Campus Name as a Field in the Course Reserves Subject Area
Currently, the only location option in the Course Reserves subject area is "Campuses Name and Participants." This field is made up of "The campus description and the number participants per campus." "Campuses Name and Participants" is misleading in that it pulls the campus description field, rather than the campus name field.
We would prefer a field that contains only the campus name, without using the description or the number of participants.

Manually associated PO Lines appearing in the Associated PO Lines tab
Allow manually associated PO Lines under the Additional section of a POL, this association should also populate an entry on the Associated PO Lines tab. This will allow for a one-to-many relationship to be established to help in the administration of material that comes with subscriptions and print and online subscription management.

Expand webhook monitoring to all record types in Alma
Libraries utilize the webhook tool in Alma to be notified when some events occur, and includes information on the results or status of that event. Unfortunately, the tool does not include all record types in Alma. For example, portfolio and representation records, though mentioned in Ex Libris webhook documentation ( https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/alma/xsd/webhook.xsd ), are not actually monitored by the tool. In August 2024, this was communicated to Ex Libris for these two specific record types, and a “planned for future release” clause was added to their page, but with no timeline. Ex Libris recommended submitting an enhancement. Please expand webhook monitoring…

Include MARC leader in General Electronic Services Bib Fields Enrichment
The addition of bib fields enrichment for general electronic services has been helpful in creating service availability rules for GESes, but there is no way to configure enrichment based upon content in the MARC record leader. This is where primary resource aspects are noted, such as record type, bibliographic level, and whether a resource is under archival control. Being able to use this criteria when displaying or hiding a service would be much easier than the convoluted and imperfect workarounds we've resorted to.

Provide fulfillment configuration utility information in an API response
Currently, testing configurations requires manually pasting information into the Fulfillment Configuration Utility and then reviewing output.
It would be much more helpful if an API could accept a list of users and barcodes and return the output of the fulfillment configuration utility - names of the matched rules, or names + policy values. That would allow for much more robust and efficient testing of configuration.

Add "PO Line Owner" as an input parameter for Purchase/Invoice Review Rules
Adding "PO Line Owner" as a parameter for Purchase/Invoice Review Rules would allow differentiation by location. Our main library uses student workers for ordering, and I want to be able to have review rules in place to catch potential mistakes. Our satellite location has one staff person doing all the acquisitions. These same review rules will be cumbersome for their workflow. Having separate rules allows each location to operate most efficiently.

Making Alma and Salesforce Work Better Together
Hi there,
Greeting from Marcos!
Here’s how we can improve how Alma and Salesforce work together to help libraries:
Automatic Case Creation: When something goes wrong in Alma, it can automatically create a support case in Salesforce. This way, issues get attention quickly, making it faster to fix problems.
Combined Dashboard: Create a single dashboard in Salesforce Marketing that shows real-time data from Alma. This helps library staff see important information in one place, making it easier to make informed decisions.
Better Communication: Link Alma and Salesforce so that notifications and updates about cases are sent automatically to users and…

Add information regarding level URL clickthroughs to Analytics
Currently only clickthrough for portfolios are being captured in Analytics. It would be great if level URL clickthrough's in Electronic Collection could also be captured.

Copyright Statuses within Digitization Fulfillment requests
In Alma's fulfillment area, processing a library/patron digitization request often requires multiple steps to get copyright approval. Currently, the copyright clearance process is a single step - a check against the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), but if a publisher or rightsholder isn't part of CCC, the licensing process must be managed outside of Alma.
If the digitization request is a product of a citation (ie from Leganto or Alma COurse Reserves), then it would be helpful to include relevant course data and the number of students in the course as part of the request.
We propose adding a new state…

Requests Operator role in a profile
When you set "requests operator" role in a profile, the Scope and Circulation Desk are mandatory.
It'll be better not to record scope and circulation desk in the profile so they can be set when using the profile.
Currently if you want to set the scope on another library than the one defined in the profile, you have to suppress the circulation desk, then change the scope, then set the circulation desk.3 votes -
Add an option for annual token entry to track "Requests to publish" in multi-year transformative agreements
Currently there are only two options for tracking requests to publish for Transformative Agreements: Unlimited or Number of Tokens. However, for a multi-year agreement with a set number of tokens per calendar year, there is no great way to track this within the Agreement Definitions on an ongoing basis. If we could get the option to track the number of requests to publish for multiple time periods within the same agreement, that would be beneficial for those with multi-year TAs.

Ability to report on the source of a MARC record
It would be useful to be able to report on the source of a MARC record in Alma Analytics. This should be part of the 'Titles' Subject Area, providing information on whether the record was created using a record from a Z39.50 query or via a scheduled or manual import job.
If the record is imported via a Z39.50 query, the source bibliographic knowledgebase should be reportable (e.g. OCLC WorldCat, Jisc Library Hub etc.).
If the record was created via an import job, the name of the import profile should be reportable.
This would help libraries to better maintain statistics…

Add option for Due Time to be after Midnight
Our library is sometimes open until 1:00am and when it is we want the due time of our items to be when we close and not at midnight. Currently to do this the due time needs to be overridden for each relevant item by our front desk. Adding this as an option in either calendar management or as a policy option would reduce manual effort by our staff, lower the risk of mistakes being made and patrons incorrectly being charged fines, and lessen confusion among our patrons.
